Replacement battery with bigger capasity - Galaxy S 4 Mini Accessories

I found couple of variants in dx.com
One is says 2350 mAh
Another clams even 2850 mAh
http://dx.com/p/replacement-2850mah...sung-galaxy-s4-mini-i9190-252363#.UtbFJeIlM4I
It is almost 30-50% higher than original. I don't beleave in it. Maybe someone tried?

if it has the same dimensions as the original battery, don't even try it

I just purchased this battery for the fun of it, it's cheap, and my i9192 oem battery does not last long.
after some testing, the size although quoted 2850mAh, it's same as the oem one.

Just to let you know, a good quality battery always state a serial number and the size of the battery under the sticker, after removing the label, nothing is on the battery, so it's something they are trying to hide.

Hey Guys, i bought one of the battery signed i9192 and 2800mAh. The battery drain was the same like the original Samsung 1900mAh battery, but there was a little problem with the exact size. It is about only a half mm, but it had to push hard the battery to go into it's place.

I've tried a few battery, non of them are true to value, all have the same time as the oem, although I haven't actually used it and whether it will drain faster.

there are some on ebay, 6500mAh 'mbuynow' extended batteries
ive bought one, works ok, nothing special, once fully charged after 24 of heavy useage it dies but strangely if you power your phone on again, it gives another 40-50% battery life which can easily go for severel more hours
fairly cheap too, uk price around £9 with extended back door cover
NFC support too, thou i never use it

I guess so, but I've never experienced that on other Samsung devices using extended batteries, I've ordered a zerolemon battery for the S4 mini, it's coming from Texas, America. Do u think I'll get the same thing on that? I'm using a custom kernel also

yes you definitively will! I've read on an amazon review that someone managed to get this fixed by editing some files in the kernel source.

China accesories... they say 2800mAh but there is less than original battery... Such as china pendrive seen 128GB but there is less than 4GB.

Here is my translation for the workaround:
Edit the following file in the kernel source "drivers/power/pm8921-bms.c" as following:
In the function "calculate_fcc_uah" you have to paste
/* fixme: powerakku has the double capacity */
scalefactor *= 2;
below
"scalefactor = interpolate_scalingfactor_fcc(chip->fcc_sf_lut,
chargecycles);"
then build the kernel and update the "bootimg" (with abootimg) with the new kernel and flash it then via dd to "/dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/boot"
Reboot your Device.
You should calibrate the battery with an app from the market (first discharge your battery (<10%), then delete "/data/system/batterystats.bin" , reboot and charge to the fullest.

I have the same issue with ~4300mAh battery from eBay. Is it a S4 Mini common issue or generic Android issue? Any easier fix/calibration coming?
The battery is made in China, but it is not true it is the same or worse than original 1900mAh. I don't believe it has full 4300mAh capacity, but it is still around twice as big as the original one. My wife's phone lives twice as much time after the upgrade, but it has to be rebooted (after it dies when powered up it has 40-50% of power again).

Some system tools (like Android Tuner) has an ability to override the battery capacity value provided by kernel.
I've never tested it, since I'm with the usual battery, but you can try this..

HTC wildfire battery issues

Hi All
I have been using HTC wildfire for almost 2 years now but for past 6 months battery has started having issues.
I was told by my friend that Froyo has had battery issues and to root my phone and install GB on it.
After rooting and install GB Galaxy Nexus by JM (ICS STYLE MOD) , my performance much better but the battery has gotten worse. It does not charge over 67% ( left it on charging over night/phone turned off)
Even with 67% charge, it drops down to 40% after 4 to 5 text messages in 10 minutes and it drops to 20 if take a call for 7 to 10 minutes. If I dare to download a app or leave my mobile data on it goes down to 10% in 20 to 30 mins.
I read on other forums that if the phone is running older version of recovery it could cause battery issues but my phone is running recovery version 4
I also read that a few say that they had to change the motherboard to fix the battery issues.
I have tried:
Juice Defender
batter saver
Super aTool Box-cache battery
Battery Dr saver+a task killer
I have stopped using apps on my phone. I only use my phone call and text but I still need to charge it 10 times a day.
I cleared the battery cache in recovery but no change in fault.
please help!!!
Is there a known issue with the phone that I'm not aware off.Any thing else that I can try before replacing motherboard or battery.
Thanks in advance
As you said- your battery is 2 years old, so i think that you could buy new one my battery is also very old (i have my WF for 2 years) and also have problems with battery ): even new custom roms didn't help. Only way i think is to buy new battery
It's your battery, I would go on ebay and find a good quality battery for your phone, a OEM or even an extended battery would be good. Battery's last a long time but after daily use for 2 years it wears them out. Hope this helps

i had the same problem, and bought a new extended battery, and nothing has changed....after 12+ hours charging it never goes over 80%, and in about 6h-7h of minimum use is under 10%...does anyone know how to fix this?
Somebody posted months ago that they had taken there's back to HTC who said it was a fault on the motherboard, they replaced the board I think and his problem was fixed.

Well official model number for the battery that comes with the phone is EB575152LA. You should be able to find it on eBay, but watch out for fakes (mainly noticeable due to the Samsung logo being missing from the battery in the pics).

[Q] Using 3000 mAh battery

Hi Everyone,
I have recently purchased Micromax Andriod one mobile for my mom. The battery for her lasts 14 hours as she does not use this mobile a lot. But somewhere down the line I feel that some time will come where I need to get a replacement battery soon. I wanted to ask that can I use 3000 mAh battery or higher capacity battery than the present one (1700 mAh)?

There is no 3000 mAh battery available for Micromax Canvas A1 currently. You can try using it if it comes in the market in the future.
As for the battery life, that is pretty low what you are getting. If the mobile is not being used, i.e it is in standby and you are getting just 14 hours then there is something wrong, the standby of this phone is pretty good, I use it moderately and I get around 24 hours of battery life, And when I am at home, connected to Wifi and minimal usage easily gives me over 24 hours of battery life. I have also got a whopping 51 hours of battery life once on a single charge with WiFi and minimal usage, i.e when my phone was on standby most of the time.
Can you tell me exactly how is the phone being used? What sort of apps are installed? Its on 3G/2G/WiFi? How is the signal reception? etc. Maybe I could help you more.

Thank you for your response. Actually its my mistake, instead of typing 34 hours I typed 14 hours in hurry Sorry for that. Coming to the battery issue. Somewhere down the line the battery backup is going to deteriorate, so as a caution I wanted to know that is buying a higher mAh battery (if available) would be witty or not? As I heard there are some differences in Voltage and Ampers. Eg. I saw one battery for A116 it had 3000 mAh and 3.7 volts and 7.4Wh. While for Andriod one it had 1700 mAh, 3.8 Volts and 6.46 Wh. So this difference would canse any harm or not?? That is exactly I want to know.

34 hours is pretty normal I would say.
Yes, its natural for the battery capacity to deteriorate, however, it depends on you too. You have to practice good habits of charging in order to preserve the overall life of the battery. Follow those and you should be good for a year or two. By that time we will obviously get batteries for sale in the market which you can replace. It is advisable that you don't put other phone's battery into some other phone, yes, I know both are of micromax and might have the same dimensions, but as you mentioned there are differences at electrical level, which might or might not cause your device to misbehave, why take risk and make the situation worse?
So it's better you make use of the default battery properly by practicing good charging habits and make it run as long as possible, later on if we get a 3000 mAh for our phone then you can surely go for it or even replace the default battery with a new one as I mentioned earlier.

i don't think it is safe;;//
At the first place it doesn't seem a battery to be officially produced by micromax
and watt per hour is different on 1700mAh andon 2200mAh (with a difference of 0.1 v input)
So i suggest you not to take the risk of damaging your phone except for you really want to test it..(wont be a big damage it should be reparable )

When needed to replace the battery?

I have my device maybe some less than 2 years.. and the battery dont good...
I check in the settings and dont have any app that drain my battery.
But If I replace it my device dont waterproof again?
My battery life is also terrible. I believe it to be the latest updates as the first beta release of android 10 the battery life was amazing
So it because the updates?
bad company
I believe so. They make battery life bad so you upgrade to a new phone. I have 5 year old iphones with better battery life than s9. Terrible company.
I did not notice any drastic change in battery life after the Android 10 upgrade. However, you've likely had the phone for around 2 years - probably charging it every day. These types of batteries start to degrade after ~500 charge cycles.
Use this app as a way to understand your battery's health: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.vndnguyen.phoneinfo
More info here: https://www.reddit.com/r/GalaxyS9/comments/8vgp76/how_has_your_s99_fared_so_far_in_terms_of_battery/
You may want to consider having the battery changed. Samsung Experience stores charge $50 for the new battery (including installation), and most other Samsung certified repair shops (in the US) seem to charge around that price as well.

I think it was started before the android 10 update..
In this app I cant see the health... I need root..
It was recommend to buy new one and replace?
I think it was better to buy mid-phones anything because it was better with battery life for years
Hmm.. I see that the health indicator (which was an estimate I suppose) is no longer listed in the app. How many Battery Discharge Cycles do you have listed? (listed under "Personal")

Of course you're joking. My friend's iPhone 6 can't even last for 2 hours !
My Exynos S9's battery life isn't great either (I've been using it for 2 years), it's just on par with iPhone X's battery life. I still get 8 to 10 hours of use with 3 hours of screen on time which isn't terrible. I should tell you that I use my phone too much when it's charging and sometimes I use it heavily, and all of this leads to heating which has a big impact on battery life, so your battery should last more if you aren't a heavy user.

Am not actually joking. I have an iphone 7 in my household which lasts alot longer than my s9.
I get around 2-3 hours on time which is the same as you which i believe is actually terrible. When i first bought this phone i could play on it for hours on end and it would still last till the end of the day. Now i have to avoid going on it as i know it will kill the battery after 2-3 hours. This was brilliant on android oreo when i first bought the phone, ever since its first update it has been ridiculous. I signed up to beta test android 10 and the first ever beta that was released the battery life was amazing. It was like it was brand new again and i could use it all day long without it killing the battery. As they kept the updates coming it kept getting worse until they released the stable version and its been terrible again ever since.
I believe it to be software related as some batteries can last a lifetime, i have lots of chargeable items around the house which i have had for years and they are still as good as they where when i first bought them. I also believe the exynos is worse than the snapdragon. I don't know why but maybe someone will.

It is an option, but i would only be inclined to do this if somebody can confirm it will improve. I however doubt it will. I found changing the power setting from high performance to optimised mode made the battery life a bit better, however it defeats the object of having an s9 and not running at a setting it is designed to.

Yea snapdragon is a bit better. And I agree on many things around the house. Still work good. Maybe try an older version of bit nber on your bootloader. An older update if you can

New Lenovo P2

Found a brand new Lenovo P2 from a very reputable seller.
Would you pull the trigger in 2022, almost 2023? I think this phone has almost everything. The screen could be brighter and the camera a bit better, but other than that I have absoutely no complaints.
LOS18 will easily last another three years so it can compete with e.g. Motorola and Sony who only give their phones 2-3 updates.
A bit worried that the battery might have degraded while unused, but have 30 days to make up my mind.
Received today. The battery was completely depleted. Will have to test the capacity.

I actually did found batteries from a seemingly trustworthy dutch webpage.
Not sure if I have to switch already though. After two days of idle on stock 6.0 the battery level has decreased by 7%, that is 0.35% per hour, quite good. Will improve with a newer ROM.
The best to your device as well!

It was actually in German, not Dutch.
Original spare part, but no spare part will reach the levels of a true original - the batteries that comes with the phone.
Have tested the battery capacity. Able to get 3 days and 14 hours of SOT. Like new. Does not appear to have taken damage from complete dischargement for what I assume to be at least 1 year.

Don't want to open it up and look in case I want to return it. But since the phone was available only throughout 2017, I am assuming early/mid 2017.

The manufactury date of the one I bought seperately is 2018-01-04. It is 2-3 grams lighter than the original. Probably OK. It is an aftermarket product after all.
OK, I have a question and dont want to open another thread. Does an OEM unlock still work? I would like to root P2 of my friend and install LOS or something.

I actually returned the phone today and didn't have the time to unlock it so can't answer.
370 EUR/USD for a device this old with 4 GB ram, outdated camera, a dim display, depleted battery at arrival and which will likely not receive any more official custom ROMs is simply too much.
Got a brand-new Moto G52 for 200 EUR/USD and will keep my old P2 with LOS 18.1 as backup.
