I recently got a pair of beats pro by Dre, which are awesome. The included cable with Mic and volume controls does NOT work with my android Samsung galaxy S3. I can hear music and even people talking, but the Mic and volume controls do not work.
The cable is fine, it works fine on my wife's iPhone the way it's supposed to. Mic works, volume control works.
Is there another android specific cable? To make the Mic and volume with with my phone on these headsets?

I've never tried those before but with PowerAmp music player you can utilize those controls. There is a beta in the market for free too if you want to try it out.
I have some Klipsch Image S4i's with the remote. The mic works fine, and the middle button works too, skipping songs (CM7), answer calls etc. But the volume buttons will not work because the Incredible hardware doesn't support them. They work just fine on my iPod touch however.

Just wondering if there's a work-around to get the remote on a Iphone headset to work on a DHD?
The mic, both earbuds and the middle button is working but not the volume control/skip tracks buttons.
I'm aware that it's a hardware issue, but do you know if there's an adapter I could use to get all the buttons working?
BTW it's regarding the Logitech Ultimate Ears 500vi that I just purchased. I've been using beats before but they suck donkey balls.

So what is the prevailing view on the right headphone adaptor which will enable track skipping and volume when plugged into android phones? There are loads of high quality audiophile headphones which are off limits at the moment. I know the sony balanced armature buds will work, but I would like some Atomic Floyd. Which adaptor has had most success?
I have also downloaded remote control for earphones. This is a serious practical issue. I cannot believe with a phone so powerful, that these button functions are not coded into any android rom. Is there a ROM to flash, which will enable apple type inline remotes?

On my iPhone i could double click and it move the next track, triple clikc and go back one track. This doesn't seem to work on the stock player on my Galaxy S3. I can pause and start playing though.
Skull candy half and half headset.
Mic, backward track skip, and volume don't work. Forward track skip does.
Beats wireless: Bluetooth all works. Bluetooth volume is separate from phone volume though. Wires- same problems as skull candy.

My beats pros and studios work normal. Havent tried control talk. My apple earpods that I used with my 4S work. Next track and play pause works with poweramp. Havent tried stock player

I'm specifically interested in the volume control buttons, because it's much easier to turn the music up/down using the headset.

well they say compatible with the s2, so one assumes so.
likely they arent actually genuine samsung, but you get what you pay for.
well those are the note's earphones and i have them working perfectly on my i9100

They look very similar to mine. They are crap, the sound is very trebly almost no base. The original Samsung ones are much better (my wife has a pair)

I have two headsets, one is "a-jays four" and other are "JBL J22i" on both only play/pause button works but volume buttons do not.
Is there anyway to hack this and make them work?
Try out HeadsetDroid for customization of the headset buttons. Works like a charm for me, well worth the couple of dollars.
It had problem the volume does not turn down with headset for Samsung galaxy with 10c ROM.
Now with 10m ROM, the problem seems to be fixed.
Which headset with volume control is compatible with Samsung Galaxy devices?
In addition, headsets designed for HTC also works properly (but track control acts as volume control).
