Samsung headset with volume control works properly with 10m - T-Mobile LG G3

It had problem the volume does not turn down with headset for Samsung galaxy with 10c ROM.
Now with 10m ROM, the problem seems to be fixed.
Which headset with volume control is compatible with Samsung Galaxy devices?
In addition, headsets designed for HTC also works properly (but track control acts as volume control).
Let's list the compatible headset.

I can say for 100% my apple ear buds from my iPad DO NOT work with any controls on this phone ?

Control bluetooth headset volume? Sony HBH-IS800

I just paired a Sony bluetooth headset (HBH-IS800) with my Tilt 2 and the volume is quite loud when listening to music. I put media player sound volume down to 5%, apparently the lowest, and it's still very loud. The only other option at that point is going down to 0%, obviously too quiet :-|
Also, the main system volume slider on the side - no effect on the headset whatsoever. Whether it's maxed out or silent - the bluetooth headset is still too loud.
Does anyone have any recommendations on:
1) How to go between <5% and >0% volume on media player?
2) How to get the main volume control to affect the bluetooth headset volume?
3) Any other ideas on lowering the music volume overall? Maybe another (better?) music player could work? Maybe a reg setting I can modify?
Any advice is appreciated - the headset is so cool - I'd love to make it usable!!! - TIA!
-Fnortner
P.S. - I called Sony - their answer: "We don't support the headset unless it's paired with a Sony phone". Boo Sony!
I have the same problem with this headset.
I had it running on the Touch HD with volume control from the device works perfectly.
Is there any solution yet?
same volume control issue with BT8040
With both Media Player or PocketTunes, I am not able to alter the volume on the BT8040, either from the Tilt2, or the earpiece itself.
Never had this problem with the same earpiece and my original Tilt.
Same problem here
I have the same problem. I have a bluetooth set which I connect to FM transmiter. The problem is: Volume is all the way up so the music is horrible, it gets distorted. I'd like to know how to manage the bluetooth volume in the system settings, is there a way? Pushing the left buttons (system volume) wont affect bluetooth volume, neither any other volume control within the settings. Any help appreciated.
I have found a solution that works for me. I use Nitrogen Player and you can just turn the equalizer on and change the preamp level to close to the bottom. Works a treat for me.
Code:
Options -> Settings -> Equalizer.

Same problem to me... I listen often to internet radio, but now it's too loud :-(
Same Problem here...
If anyone came up with a solution for this that works native to the ROM (vs just adjusting the eq) post it here, and I'll do the same.

I have a stereo BT headset, and whenever I pair it with my (tmo US) TP2, the phone throws up a standard "you have to adjust the volume from the headset, can't do it from the handset" warning...and when I do use the volume controls on the headset, the volume does adjust accordingly, but without any feedback from the phone (no volume slider or other indication), so the adjustment is obviously happening in the headset's circuitry, and the audio coming from the phone is at a static, un-adjustable level.
From the research I've done, the culprit is the sub-par Widcomm bluetooth stack in the phone, and I haven't yet found anyone who has engineered a replacement stack. I know the possibility exists (I upgraded the bluetooth stack on my Wizard a couple of years ago to get one that had the A2DP profile), but I just don't think anybody has made a replacement for this model yet

Thanks for the reply! My situation is backwards in the sense that the headset doesn't have volume controls - and what I seem to be finding is that there doesn't seem to be an immediate fix for controlling a headset from the phone. I did use a tool called "Advanced Config" to find a default music volume that I can change, so I lowered that from 100 to 50 and now the volume is at least comfortable. However I have no control over it yet....
Could these issues be due to USB 2.0 versus USB 2.1 ?
I got a Motorola H17 (USB 2.1) and everything works perfect. Have volumn control from phone and headset and all audio sources work fine.
Oooops. Meant Bluetooth 2.0 vs Bluetooth 2.1.

Yes, for some reason, the BT stack in this phone seems to assume that all BT stereo headsets also have built-in controls on them and won't allow them to adjust system volume. I think we're probably stuck with that fact until somebody finds a BT stack to replace the TP2's native one.
The best workaround for now may be just to find and use a headset that does have volume controls. I'll be posting a review soon of the ones I have now, the Plantronics/Altec Lansing Backbeat 903's

So when you play music through it, you can control the volume on the handset itself, and with controls on the headset? If so, I'm guessing it's because that's a monaural (not stereo) headset, so it may not be the same volume. My headset has BT 2.1 on it, and while I can control the playback etc on the phone, the volume controls only adjust the headset volume, not the volume on the phone.

This may be true since it is only monaural. The volume control (on the phone) still controls the phone (thus the headset) while the BT control only controls the BT headset.

Good evening,
If it can help you with tcpmp-0. 72RC1 - GF5500Edition - Alpha4. 1 can adjust the volume of this famous helmet HBH-IS800 and it is easier than with nitrogene.
Good evening
Ichtus
if its is supported by only sony phones(BB storm too) then can we get the profile from a xperia and install it on another device
I have seen multiple people state they can adjust the volume both on their headset and on the handset asystem volume. I thought perhaps it was the BT stack EXCEPT I was able to do this as well before I did a hard reset now I cannot adjust the 2 volume controls independently. The handset volume is static. Will someone that can adjust the system volume with a headset compare settings/egistry entries with me?
Is there a way we can adjust the volume of the line out from the bluetooth connection, anyone, lately ive have noticed that most devices are doing this, dont want to revert to a old stack but there has to be a way to combine the headset volume with the bluetooth volume

[Q] headphones with music control?

anyone know if there are headphones with music control (next, pause, play...) for galaxy s2?
thanks!
im interested too for gym workout
the earbuds that came with my SGSII seemed to do this automatically with PowerAMP. hit the button on the mic for pause/play and hold it for next track. although, in the stock music app holding down the button to skip track won't work, but pause/play will.
I use a Jabra BT3030 bluetooth set. The controls are all on a dog-tag and you can use whatever headphones you desire. I'm using a set of Sennheiser MXL 60 phones because they have a nice short cord (with optional extension included), and a little loop that the BT3030 attaches to very neatly.
It's a great combo for cycling.
Also interested with this. Any good/great "regular" earphones(NOT in-ear/canal, etc) with working controls on PowerAmp?
Get the Sony DRC-BT30 BT30 Bluetooth Receiver and match it with your favorite earphones (that didn't come with volume/call control).
Has anybody tried a beats solo with control key? What keys work?
If it helps I quote myself:

Regarding volume control using different headsets with the SGS2 I've finally found a solution that works for me: Headset Droid It lets you assign different actions (including rising and lowering the phone's volume) to your headset's key/keys. I've tried it with the stock headset and works great! The link I include is for the 1 day trial version, if you try it and you like it's only 0,99€

Headset Droid
Beats Solo HD: Call(Hang), Music(On/Off/Forward/Back). Volume(Use Headset Droid).
Tried this, and yes it has a workaround with the beats solo but the commands tend to get mixed up. Like center(button) + hold = increase volume or it turns the music player off. So its better than nothing.
Will haven to check headset droid out, hoping for the best

headphones with media controls

Has anyone tested iphone/ipod headphone media controls with the note and do they work? I want to buy some headphones but most just say apple compatible. I know the 3.5mm jack is different from the first generation galaxy phones. I plugged the Note OEM earphones into a captivate and the controls didn't work. Thanks!
Hi, I tried a headphone that came with HTC HD2 and it turn out that this HD2 headphone can work almost the same function as the one Samsung sent with the Note. Only press to Play/Receive call work and FW/BW, they are working as Vol up/down.
have you tried the headset from the NOTE?, I can use it with beyondpod for:
. next
. previous
. vol
. pause
and you can assign the button for other functions...
I'm currently using the Note's provided IEM, as mine kind of spoilt. so far I only use it to increase, decrease volume, launch stock player, play and pause. Still thinking how to change sound track though. but yeah, it's working for me.
the beyondpod player responds to double clicks and long clicks of answer button, so you can assign it to FF....
maybe the stock player can use that clicks too....
I'm using my Shure 215 with the optional headset cable with a single button and it works fine with "Headset Button Controller" from the market.
Click = play/pause
Doubleclick = Next track
Click&Hold = Volumechange (set it to changing from 20-80% in x steps)
And you have call control.
What I still haven't figured out is how to make the samsung voicecontrol app start and work when the phone is asleep...
Don't know if there is any device without a apple logo that can use the apple compatible buttons (they would sue them

What do you mean optional headset? Where can I get this from?
I'm using the Audio Technica AT335i and it works well. Best thing about it is that it's modular, so you can use it with any earphones you like.
It says it's intended for iPhone, but as far as I can tell, all functions work fine on my Note (single click to play/pause/pick up call/end call, double click to go to next track, triple click to go to previous track). Volume control is just an analog slider so it works independently of the phone's volume settings.

Klipsch sell an Android specific set of buds called the S4A...
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Klipsch-S4A-Headphones-Android-Silver/dp/B005M1KO1C
The earphones are single button and rely on a free, native Android app here:
https://market.android.com/details?...NvbS5vdXRzaWRlc291cmNlLmtsaXBzY2hjb250cm9sIl0.
I don't have the S4A's, but I just downloaded the app and it works perfectly with my Note and Marshall Minors (http://www.marshallheadphones.com/product/minor).
There's been lots of complaints about the Klipsch app not working with the Galaxy S and various other phones, but I can't find a problem with it on the Note.
*** Update ***
I just found the Klipsch Promedia's on Amazon for £35 (usually £90 like the S4A's): http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...&pf_rd_t=3201&pf_rd_p=466496413&pf_rd_i=typ01
They appear to be exactly the same as the S4A's apart from the colour - this thread indicates they work fine with the Klipsch android app: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20510095
I'm hoping they'll be delivered before I return to work next year
I have order one of these last week...hopefully the buttons will work ok

Compatible wired headsets.

Might be useful to someone. HTC HD7 headset works with One X but. Volume control buttons work to change the track in music player. Pressing + goes one track back, pressing - advances a track. Holding the + restarts your playlist from 1st track. Button for phone calls so pickup/disconnect work as normal and long pressing it does the same as in stock headset so advances the track by 1 song. Microphone also works. Finally headset activates the beat add-on but saying that only 1 set of headsets did not activate it on my phone?!
It is useful as what you can do now is mod the HD7 headset so that right after microphone/buttons you have a 3.5mm jack socket and you can plug in any headphones and still use them as headset.
headset and headphones that work all three buttons & mic
- urbeats
- htc beats solo
- Sony smart headset
- Nocs NS200H-001
i've got the nokia monster purity in ear headphones and they work with the one x pretty well, the volume controls function as track controls and the call button and mic works perfectly too. Only issue i've had is the music controls won't work at all if you're using chrome and trying to change the track. You have to get out of chrome and then the buttons work, strange but not a major issue.

Beats pro by Dre possible to use phone headset on S3?

I recently got a pair of beats pro by Dre, which are awesome. The included cable with Mic and volume controls does NOT work with my android Samsung galaxy S3. I can hear music and even people talking, but the Mic and volume controls do not work.
The cable is fine, it works fine on my wife's iPhone the way it's supposed to. Mic works, volume control works.
Is there another android specific cable? To make the Mic and volume with with my phone on these headsets?
There's one for iPhone cable..
