I recently upgraded to 4.3 on AT&T, and I've been having some problems with my notifications.
Several files keeping popping up in my pull-down window, even though I downloaded them weeks before.
Also, my IBM meeting app sends me notifications from meetings that happened a couple days ago, and sometimes it doesn't notify me of a current meeting.
If anyone has a fix for this, that'd be great.

That's weird. This is gonna sound silly but have you checked your date settings? Is the date set to 2014? Idk, I had some problems with my notifications and with the Play Store in the past just because of that detail.

So ive had my S3 since the beginning of November and have had no problems. Around the beginning of December I did an OTA update to Jelly Bean and everything was working great. Christmas morning comes around and i was recieving notifcations through all my apps like normal, but starting in the afternoon notifications stopped from such apps as Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat..etc. I checked setttings and all notifications are turned on for each individual app, i went under accounts and sync is turned on. Went into the individual app and checked settings, logged out and back into them. Went as far as to uninstall everything and reinstall the apps but still no notifications are coming through. Ive turned off and restarted the phone. Its becoming a real pain now having to continiously check all my apps to see if ive recieved anything.
I did a google search and found a site where someone else was having the same problem but there were never any resolutions. Has anyone else here come across this problem and know how to resolve it? am i really going to have to reinstall the OS to fix? it seems odd that my text and kik are the only ones that still recieve push notifications. Please let me know, its driving me crazy!
Twitter has done this for me every upgrade for months. I can correct it by going to settings, click my account then notifications, change something, hit back, wait for the toast to say it was saved then change it back.
Facebook used to be similar, but on the new more native app I have yet to get the notifications to work completely att the time for replies and a few other things.

Hey guys,
A few weeks ago my Verizon Samsung Note 4 received an OTA update - nothing major, I believe it just added some security patches and removed some bloatware. But since then, my gmail app has not been syncing properly.
The sync is definitely still ON, because it does sync sometimes but it's very sporadic. But it's not syncing as soon as emails come in, and often it will take a couple hours for new emails to show up (which I can see if I'm home near my computer). Some mornings I'll wake up and my emails from overnight will be there, and some mornings, nothing will have synced from overnight.
And as far as I can tell, there's nothing specific that finally prompts it to sync (in other words, turning my phone on, or simply opening gmail doesn't make it sync. It just seems to be totally random).
Any ideas on how to fix this? Thanks!!
Dude I though it was me.. I been having the same problem. Anyone else having this problem and figured it out?
Same
I got the 5.1.1 update 8 days ago and exact same issue. I've been through 3 factory resets both using previous backups and starting fresh. Also used troubleshooting fixes from other posts... clearing data, clearing cache, turn sync off/on, removed/added Google account, etc. Nothing so far
Same issue here...
Strange. I've also taken the update (actually, if memory serves, there were 2 updates within a couple of weeks) and aren't experiencing the problems you all are seeing. I know, that doesn't help you any.
Hmm, well it does help to hear from others that are having the same problem, so at least I'm not driving myself crazy trying things that won't fix it! Thanks for the replies.
And of course, if anyone has any solutions, I'd still love to hear from you too . . .
I know this also is not much help, but I've sent an email to the Dev but no reply yet...
Same here in note 3 and since updating gmail app my gear 2 no longer gets notications from gmail even when gmail DOES show up on phone notifications.
Leave it to Verizon to screw everything up after finally making some big progress with the first 5.1 update. That update fixed SO MANY issues I was having with the phone. I was ready to switch to a new one, but the update made me want to keep it. Then I wake up to see this latest 2nd update was installed without it asking me, and now I am having major issues with things like Gmail not syncing, but also answering a phone call is horrendously bugged. I will have to swipe the green answer button like 8 times before it actually picks up the freaking call. My wifi will randomly stop sending and receiving any packets and my signal will just drop out completely, airplane mode doesn't fix it and it requires a hard reset. Like holy hell Verizon, what the actual freak do you guys do to your phones...
Apologies if I am posting this in the wrong spot. I have a Pixel 2 XL(obviously) and had been on the Android beta program for some time now. The android p beta had been running really solid for me with no issues. So when they pushed it out officially last week i of course went for it. However, all of a sudden now, when *sending* texts, it gives me a notification sound (same as incoming notification). Anyone run into this? I searched the forums briefly but didnt see anyone with the issue although I couldve missed it.
Note- I'm using the Google Messages(I believe thats the official name) app, I just prefer it to Hangouts. I did check the settings, and disabled the setting for outbound notification sounds- but it persists.
Here's the kicker- it cant be isolated to just me, as my mom has the same phone -she messaged me last week and asked if she should update (I'm typically the guinea pig) and I said yep, been rock solid for me.. now she's getting the exact same behavior. So barring it being the messages app itself which i suppose is possible, I dont know.
Thoughts? Suggestions? I havent tried a different messenger app yet, suppose I could(textra maybe), I'm just partial to this one for whatever reason.
Thanks in advance!
Disregard. I guess its specific to Android Messages app. Installed another text app and the issue went no longer occurs.
I have the same issue with my Android Messages app
I don't know if this is Pixel 2 specific, but it keeps happening on my Pixel 2 XL, and I can't find anything online about it happening to anyone else. If this is better off in another forum, let me know.
When I'm using messages.android.com] along with the Messages app for texting, it will sometimes (once or twice a day) send duplicate messages, but delayed by a few minutes or hours, and not always just the previous message I sent. It's very inconsistent and I can't find a pattern to it. It's been happening to me for at least a month.
I've tried:
* different laptops and browsers
* clearing storage to force the app to have a fresh start
* settings -> messages for web -> sign out of all computers
Example: this morning I sent a few texts from my phone, then a little later I logged on to messages.android.com, and it resent one of my texts from last night.
The only thing I notice is that it's always to a group chat, it never happens with just a single person.
Any suggestions or ideas would be great, thanks in advance.

Nothing concrete. I upgraded to version 4 a couple of days ago and it hasn't happened yet. I stress 'yet' because it seems to be pretty spotty on when it happens and what triggers it.
Did you get this resolved?

I disabled automatic resending in chat features and it seems to have resolved it for me. It's only been a day, so time will tell.
Anyone else have calendar events not showing up? I have an event scheduled everyday that isnt showing a notification. I’ve looked at the usual stuff, notifications are on for calendar, etc....I have an iPad that’s also connected to the same gooogle calendar and they come through fine on it everyday. Anyone have any insight?
Is there an alert added to the calender entry? Like 10 minutes before?
Thanks for replying. There is an alert set,...it was for 10 minutes before, that didn’t work so I changed it to at the time of event, and that didn’t work. I read somewhere that it was because of the last update, so I uninstalled the update and it worked this morning. I’m going to give it a few more days to see if it still works and if so I know a calendar update came out yesterday so I’ll update to that and hopefully I won’t have to worry about it anymore.

I used to have problems with my calendar not firing alerts or just firing late on previous phones. Then I found an app on GPS called Events Notifier For Calendar (by RYO Software.) There is an XDA thread somewhere about it. I've been using it on my last three phones including this one and I feel it is indispensable! (As for the GPS rating, my guess is user error for most of people's complaints.) But it has never failed me and the developer is extremely helpful. It's probably one of the first 5 apps I now install on every new phone.
