Yes but i seldom use it. To install it, just search in play store.
The command is similar to adb.
terminal emulator is used to execute commands when necessary
like when u want to go to the root of ur device,
then only

Totally agree with you black87. Titanium backup is the best there ever was, the best there ever is and the best there ever will be(I think so unless another mind blowing app will come)

Oh geez, that sucks. I've never had that happen before. You could just download one from the Play Store. I use Color Note. Unless you are looking for a specific UI

Did you just click install as an apk?
it is a system app so you need to use a root browser app and move the memo.apk file to the root/system/app folder and give it the correct permissions.

Any luck with this app? I tried to install it as well with no luck. I also went into Recovery and it's not there. Is there another version or way go get this done?
I only need to install the app, so I can put some of the memo's that I created back on, so I can get the information I need...
i use this on jedi knight. Might work for you.
just use a root explorer & place in root/system/app, &reboot.

This method will show you how to back up your important memo in times you want to change or flash your ROM.
Step 1: Phone must be rooted and make sure you have "root explorer" application.
Step 2: Locate the "Memo.db" using your root explorer (data/data/com.sec.android.app.memo/databases/Memo.db.
Step 3: Copy the "Memo.db" in your SD card (anywhere in your SD card as long as you can easily find it)
Step 4: You can now change or flash ROM.
Step 5: After changing/flashing ROM, locate in your SD card the "Memo.db" you saved before using "root explorer" and paste it to data/data/com.sec.android.app.memo/databases/Memo.db and overwrite it.
and THAT''s ALL!
:good: HIT THANKS please

Noob Questions... Probably.
Any reports on whether this method works or not? I can always use Kies to backup memos but it's a tedious process and i'd rather not want to do it every time i decide to tinker with my phone.
Also, regarding Titanium Backup, isn't it not advisable to transfer memos from one ROM to the next? Experimented with it once, couldn't restore my Apps and Contacts, so I just did the longer method and made backups with Kies.
I am a super newbie please show me how to back up my imei for a custom rom =[ Thanks!
Use andromizer from the play store.. Since when is being a noob an excuse to not use search?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
In a nicer way, instead putting yourself out there for a lashing... Just read up next time. You're not the first person to ever wonder how to backup your IMEI, after the phone being out for close to a year.
Thanks! Has anyone successfully restored their imei using the andromizer app? i tried searching, but i cant find a post about anyone using it successfully..
I've read the comments in the play store and some have confirmed, I trust it. If it fails you can restore using the method in the Dev thread. Or just use that thread. NV restore Thread or something.
Why don't people use this method anymore?

reboot nvbackup

They have no clue what Terminal Emulator is or ADB lol. I used to use both constantly with my older phones, but now it is almost never spoken of because of what's available. The same reason most of the world will eat out instead of cooking for them selves, just how it is. Not that I support any of that.

This rooting technique Finally worked you will need three files
1) SDK TOOLS from
2) recovery.img from
3)MRKREHANROOT from
you should have unlock boot loaders USB drivers installed and should be on android 4.3
copy mrkrehanrehanroot3.1.zip in sdcard
be in fastboot mode ie switch off your device and hold both volume up and down and power button together and keep your device connected to PC
Extract the sdktools and place the revovery.img in that folder
then with one finger on shift key right click in an empty space in the folder and select open command window here
then type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
it will flash recovery to your device
in recovery no need wipe anything install the zip mrkrehanroot3.1.zip
and reboot
download any app that requires root access and check for example root explorer
it should ask root acess
in this way you have rooted your device
Keep the thanks rolling and follow me on

I use that method, cannot restore any app with TB or install Busybox, for some reason it's root but not completely.
This thread shouldn't be in dev section, and there were bunch of root method threads/posts that could be easily found.

Titanium Backup is an example of such an app. It may incorrectly detect the path to your internal storage for backups, and thus crash on backup/restore. You can fix this by going into preferences and selecting a folder under /storage/emulated/legacy as backup/restore path, not under /storage/emulated/0.

not that i am aware of b/c u r trying to modify and/or remove something from the root of the device, thus rooting ur device gives u the ability to do so, u cannot without access
is there a reason u are against rooting?
