not that i am aware of b/c u r trying to modify and/or remove something from the root of the device, thus rooting ur device gives u the ability to do so, u cannot without access
is there a reason u are against rooting?

how are you trying to edit those files?
the phone is rooted, but it doesn't mean it sudo every single app you run. plus if i'm not mistaken, / is mounted as read-only. you'll need to remount it as r/w
i' ve tried with andexplorer (downloaded from market) and root explorer. trying to edit build.prop file

I already confirmed. Rooted apps wrk on this build. I downloaded and they wrk fine. so I guess we are already rooted. so we got 1 up on regular Android devices. ;-)

Root and can't remove apps

I am sorry if is another thread but I look and nothing answer my question:
I have root my phone with unrevoked the one click and I am trying to remove some stock apps directly from the phone and still tell me that is read only, I don't have the write/delete permission to do it? Is that how is intend or my root is wrong ?
Any other way to take this stock app out without flashing a rom?

You can remount your system partition as Read/Write if your NAND is unlocked, just do an "adb remount"

You could always just download titanium backup and remove them or download root explorer
Go to system/app hit the rw/w in the right corner and delete what you don't want

(DS) Help! Reboot everytime I try to use gl2sd or other root app

I rooted my xperia m dual using vroot 1.7.1. Replaced the Chinese superuser with supersu 1.65. I got the root permissions this way. Also installed busybox v1.21.1 in system/xbin using normal install method. Then I try gl2sd, but whenever I click on mount, after mounting, my device reboots. I am on stock rom v4.2.2, rooted, bootloader locked. I hope there must be some way out to make it work without unlocking the bootloader, coz it was working on single sim version without any need to unlock bootloader. Help asap developers

You need a rootfixer.Your phone is half rooted therefore everytime you try to write in /system it reboots.
Try using this guide and dont forget the 4th step.

Didn't worked bro. please do write a detailed tutorial for that with every step included. and do check it too please. now I tried again, and again only reboot occurs
If it reboots it means ur phone is half rooted with framaroot. There's one post on how to fully root Xperia m try that and it will not reboot on using root apps then.

The command is similar to adb.
terminal emulator is used to execute commands when necessary
like when u want to go to the root of ur device,
then only

edit firmware stock

hi all, I would have a question to ask you since you are more experienced than me .. I would like to know if it is possible to modify an original firmware and then install it via odin so that the guarantee is not affected, such as removing system apps that are not needed to nothing and remove that annoying beep that you hear every time you turn up and down the volume ... thanks to all

No it won't work. But you can do it and flash it on via twrp and yes you'll need root.
Many ppl has done that and they call it custom rom.

don't try to root your new device if you don't used to root...
try before with old device because it is dangerous if you don't know how to do

I'm wait
Actually it depends on the banking app...
For mine, no matter what I try, banking app is not working on my S20. MagiskHide & co... nothing....
A specific xposed module would probably do the job but I don't have coding skills with Xposed.
