Easiest way to back up your MEMO [GALAXY Y GT-S5360] - Galaxy Y GT-S5360 General

This method will show you how to back up your important memo in times you want to change or flash your ROM.
Step 1: Phone must be rooted and make sure you have "root explorer" application.
Step 2: Locate the "Memo.db" using your root explorer (data/data/com.sec.android.app.memo/databases/Memo.db.
Step 3: Copy the "Memo.db" in your SD card (anywhere in your SD card as long as you can easily find it)
Step 4: You can now change or flash ROM.
Step 5: After changing/flashing ROM, locate in your SD card the "Memo.db" you saved before using "root explorer" and paste it to data/data/com.sec.android.app.memo/databases/Memo.db and overwrite it.
and THAT''s ALL!

Noob Questions... Probably.
Any reports on whether this method works or not? I can always use Kies to backup memos but it's a tedious process and i'd rather not want to do it every time i decide to tinker with my phone.
Also, regarding Titanium Backup, isn't it not advisable to transfer memos from one ROM to the next? Experimented with it once, couldn't restore my Apps and Contacts, so I just did the longer method and made backups with Kies.

I am about to root my evo using Unrevoked and wants to know that once this is rooted, will I be able to get rid of some of the OEM programs, like, NASCAR, etc?
I think it.has to do more.with the roms, but then I've only been doing this for a couple of months.

Yes. The easiest way would be to use Titanium Backup to delete everything.

Unrevoked alone will not get you where you want to be, you also need to run unrevoked-Forever(nand-off) which when combined with unrevoked(rooting) will give you both Root and Nand-Off, for simplicity sake, let's call this "full root", albeit the unrevoked team would correct me on my interpretation, the process remains the same.
Use unrevoked 3.21 ...it will give you full root. Then download root explorer and you will be able to go in and delete any of the sprint or other stuff you want. There are guides on here how to use root explorer and really its not that complicated. You can even save the apks you delete in case you decide you want them back. It worked for me.

Sweet....forgot to mention, in case you didn't know, immediately after rooting make a nandroid! Then start pulling out the sprint stuff!

Ha! after you root the phone...reboot into recovery and find nandroid and it allows you to make a "backup" of how your phone was. If you accidentally muck up your phone you can flash the nandroid backup and it'll restore the phone to how it was!

Have your phone on with USB debugging and unknown sources enabled. Plug in the USB and open the rooting .bat file. Choose option 2 then hit enter. Open backup & restore and restore the rootme backup. Don't touch it from there (unless a box pops up on the phone which you can hit okay) phone will reboot and it should do its thing. The .bat file screen will tell you everything so read what it says. Shouldn't be any hitting of any other option except 2 for the Sony phones.

Pretty ridiculous for ATT to leave that app out to begin with.
This method has worked for me on all the ics fws, so I don't know. Maybe it was a bad flash, try wiping and flashing ics again.

first of all u need to have s-off and root privileges on your phone. u can find multiple guide here on the forum choose one. then u instal rom manager from app store and after install u open the rom manager and choose option flash recovery and the only option should be G2. Choose it and after few seconds it's done.
or u can use 4ext touch recovery. you shold easily find guide here to do that just use search option
sry i can't get way to root my phone , any one can tell me how root step by step and easily
for future reference google works well for searching as does the xda search button
Read up!
oky thank ,,, but any one have easy way to do root tell me please
Best way? If u have rooted phone download ROM Manager and after you accsess it click install cwm...easy
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Best and easy are two different things, and truthfully you should root your phone any other way. Useing rom manager is fine and dandy but you don't learn how to do anything yourself then, which means more often then not when you run into issues later on, which you almost certainly will, you won't know what to do.
Not trying to be a ****, but the directions are pretty straight forward and amount to copy and paste with only a tad of computer knowledge.
If you want "easy" just htc dev unlock your bootloader... but in the long run it will be harder for you

Are you serious? I linked you the step by step process, if its too complicated I also said to use the htc dev unlocked bootloader method (which I'm sure you can work google to find out how)
I'm sorry this seems to complicated for you but there is no safe one click method. again, not being a **** here but if you can't follow the step by step process laid out in the wiki then you shouldn't root your phone, it will be a bad idea... but if you must still and refuse to root the proper way then unlock the bootloader with htcs method, but chance are you will run into more issues.
I'm guessing you will be happier just not alowing yourself root and stick with stock though

if your to lazy to use the search button, rooting is not for you
find strawmetal pdf and follow instructions, read carefully or your phone get bricked

[HOWTO] Root Android 4.3 on samsung galaxy nexus

This rooting technique Finally worked you will need three files
1) SDK TOOLS from
2) recovery.img from
3)MRKREHANROOT from
you should have unlock boot loaders USB drivers installed and should be on android 4.3
copy mrkrehanrehanroot3.1.zip in sdcard
be in fastboot mode ie switch off your device and hold both volume up and down and power button together and keep your device connected to PC
Extract the sdktools and place the revovery.img in that folder
then with one finger on shift key right click in an empty space in the folder and select open command window here
then type fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
it will flash recovery to your device
in recovery no need wipe anything install the zip mrkrehanroot3.1.zip
and reboot
download any app that requires root access and check for example root explorer
it should ask root acess
in this way you have rooted your device
Keep the thanks rolling and follow me on

I use that method, cannot restore any app with TB or install Busybox, for some reason it's root but not completely.
This thread shouldn't be in dev section, and there were bunch of root method threads/posts that could be easily found.

Titanium Backup is an example of such an app. It may incorrectly detect the path to your internal storage for backups, and thus crash on backup/restore. You can fix this by going into preferences and selecting a folder under /storage/emulated/legacy as backup/restore path, not under /storage/emulated/0.
