Brick Issue, PLEASE HELP - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hey everyone, Im not new to rooting and flashing custom ROMs and all that, but it has been a long while since Ive done any of it. I have a S2 that had 4.0.3 and i rooted it the other day. Then i went to flash one of the latest ROMs but I failed to pay attention to the note that said i needed the latest CWM Recovery touch or I would end up in boot loop. Well thats where I am at, i tried to reflash back to stock, and tried to flash CWM touch using Odin but neither have worked....Now i either get a boot loop or i can get into download mode, recovery wont seem to boot...i cant afford another phone right now and I am hoping there is a way. I assume its only soft bricked and fixable but I am stuck, can someone please help me?

If Odin sees your phone...it will work. Just need the right version. I had no luck with 3.0.7. .... 3.0.4 worked for me. Just try that one, or other versions till it works.
If Odin doesn't see your phone, then that is another issue.
Also wipe the phone first in recovery...caches, data and system.

Try Odin 1.85 to flash recovery. And try twrp...most prefer it. At first try 2.5.0.0.....wipe your phone with it. Then other Odin version to flash stock 4.1.2. Then flash the twrp version that's appropriate to the Rom you plan on flashing, if any. Twrp will give you root when you exit it.

(Q) Bootloop unable to boot dowloading do not turn off target

I just tried to do an nandroid to a previous ROM, this has been done many times before via CWM. This time after reboot I got stuck in a bootloop as I pulled battery and manually tried to get into recovery with power/volume this time it went to odin mode and now says dowloading, do not turn off target.
I have powered down phone from ODIM mode. but now when trying to re-boot im stuck at samsung galaxy boot screen. I now have tried once or twice to manually get into recovery to see if sends me to CMW but phone resets back to the boot rather than bootloader.
I have tried to hold volume up and power to try and boot into recovery and all I get is the bootloop while holding the buttons, never gets routed to recovery. (I heard for ODIN you hold volume down and power)
Has anyone experienced this? I have never used ODIN so no sure where this is comming from.
I have tried to manually get into recovery and I get a samsung message that downloading a custom OS can be harmfull either I can proceed or re-boot. If I proceed (volume up) I get the "downloading do not run off traget" in ODIN mode if i do volume down I reboot but that back at the bootloop
If you cannot get into recovery you are probably going to have to flash through Odin. From the sound of it you never used odin before. I would flash back to the stock rooted rom and then reinstall clockwork mod. I will provide links. A file probably just got corrupt during the nand restore. Lets hope I can get ya back up and running.
Install stock rooted rom:

Reinstall Clockwork Mod:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZRnH-_XZmM
Make sure you follow the steps exactly and do NOT pull out the cable during odin until it is complete or you WILL brick your phone!

[Q] Someone help, Samsung Galaxy S3 wont boot.. :((

Hello, I honestly hope someone can help me !!
My phone won't boot up at all. I keep getting the Samsung logo with the words "recovery booting...." in the top left corner but it never boots into recovery mode.. I'm able to go into the other mode(forgot the name of it) but anything I flash in Odin fails.. Does any have any ideas on how I can get my phone back up and running.? I really need your help
What cause this..?
I wanted to flash a rom so I booted into recovery but didn't know how to backup my phone using Android System Recovery 3e. There was no option for backup. I then proceeded to flash cwm_Superuser_v3.0.7. When I tried to reboot after the "pass" flash, it never went into recovery and now everytime I take the battery out and try to turn it on, it still wants to try to reboot into recovery... ( HELP ME PLEASE..!!!
http://goo.im/devs/billard412/d2spr/Prerooted_Odin_tar_files/(NO_WIPE)SPR_L710VPBLJ7_ROOTED_JB.7z stock with root just flash in odin. From there since you'll have root access already just download goo manager and use it to flash a twrp recovery if u need it.
I'll try that right now and let you know what happens. Thanks
What's the best thing to do if Odin keeps failing.?
Check your drivers. Switch USB ports. Swap the USB cable. Reboot pc

The odin flash is a one click fix all type of deal. You do have the phone in download mode while you're attempting this right?
ODIN!!!! I love it.

woops...I hate that feeling...sorry
From what I've read you don't have CWM .. You have the stock recovery..You can't flash ROMS in stock recovery.. Does your phone boot up at all?
Personally TWRP is a better custom recovery anyway in my opinion.. CWM is so outdated..

It sounds to me like you didn't have debugging enabled on the phone,or didn't flash the cwm recovery tar in odin correctly, and jumped a step. I would completely start over, making sure you have the phone drivers installed correctly, then install the custom recovery.
Yeah, I tried everything but it failed everytime.. I fixed my phone tho, I used another laptop.
For some reason my laptop don't like Odin. I uninstalled the Samsung drivers, got rid of Odin, reinstalled everything, tried again but it still failed.. I don't know why my laptop is doing that but I got it now.
Thanks everyone for your help.!
Ok, so I am not a noob..But I hadn't flashed anything since owning my orginal Evo..I followed all the steps for chain fire's root and have root access. I installed TWRP and haven't played with any gs3 roms yet so I went into twrp's list of compatible roms. I downloaded carbon and gapps. I tried to flash. What happens now is the same thing as this poster above me. I can boot into download mode at which point I attempted odin..after that process I booted up and still no recovery. I did manage to flash Carbon, just very poorly apparently, because all that happens when I boot up is that is says startup wizard has failed and gapps has failed..Should I try to use odin with the link provided above as well?

Please help!

Hey guys I'm in some trouble. I tried to flash a new ROM to my phone and for the first time ever something bad happened. It wouldn't get pass the splash screen. So i entered recovery mode again using TWRP and reflashed everything. Kernal, rom etc...Still nothing. When I tried to reboot out of TWRP it said I didn`t have root. I choose to install it but nothing happened. I tried to use odin to flash but it failed. On the download screen of the phone it said I didn`t have a custom binary installed. Anyways i tried to reboot into recovery after the ODIN fail and now I get a screen saying `Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies and try again`. Also my custom binary count went up to 2!
This is the first time this has happened to me and it happened at a really bad time of the day. Any help would be appreciated !
Edit : I can`t get into recovery but i can get into download.
So i was able to reinstall TWRP with Odin. But I don`t know hot to get back root since my rom won`t both. I cant restore a nandroid because TWRP can`t mount anything at all. Even when I try to reinstall the rom.

The first bootloop you got would have been remedied by doing a factory reset and wiping cache and dalvik.
Odin always raises your binary counter.
Reboot into download and flash a stock rooted Rom with Odin. The Firmware error is common after a bad flash with Odin, just ignore it. You should be fine.

Edit... what Rom did you flash? Some kernels don't agree with some roms. Best to flash Rom and set up kernel later after initial set up.

Your best bet is to flash stock and re root and start over again.

Hey thanks man. I somehow got it working again though I erased my sdcard by accident. Oh well. Lesson learned. Thank you.

[Q] Some help unbricking my Note 2.

The phone is a korean shv-e250k. I got it 2nd hand, it already had a n7105 rom on it.
I rooted it successfully using cf-auto-root for n7105, I also successfully installed philz recovery, I then decided to format it, I booted into recovery, chose the factory reset option, and instead of wiping it, I chose the clean -"install a new rom" option. But I didn't have a flashable rom on hand, so I just rebooted it, it is now stuck on the Galaxy Note II screen.
Things I tried to fix the problem:
1. Downloaded dmc3 stock from sammobile and flashed it using odin, results in nand write fail.
2. Downloaded pre-rooted deodexed dmc3 stock rom, I can still boot to recovery in philz and tried flashing it through there, results in getting stuck midway while flashing.
3. Downloaded perseus kernel and tried flashing it using odin, flashed successfully but phone still stuck on booting up.
I can still go into download and philz recovery mode. What other steps can I take?
Update: I tried using a different recovery, I download the cwm advanced recovery, flashed it successfully through odin, booted into recovery, tried to flash a new rom and it still won't go past the halfway mark.
It's really weird cause I can boot into download and recovery mode without any problems, what should I do?
Finally got it up and running again by flashing a stock shve250 rom using odin,
exactly the same problem here,,

Everything works, but this could be due to my location, I live in the Philippines, and korean phones have been known to work here with our local telcos, internal storage shows 24gb free, I have the 32gb version btw.
This is the site where I got the rom from - http://samsung-updates.com/
I guess you have to make sure you have the right rom, even though this had a n7105 rom when I got it, when I boot into download mode, the text instructions for pressing the up button is in korean, and the screen where it shows the binary counter states that the phone is an shv-e250k. So maybe you have to flash the exact rom as stated in download mode.
what is the exact link to the stock ROM you flashed ?

[Q] Phone Stuck on Samsung Lego but able to get into download mode and recovery mode

The phone is rooted and cwm v6.0.x is installed. I was trying to flash C-rom last night for my first time but got stuck and said your root maybe lost blash blah. Now every time i turn on my phone, it starts and gets stuck on the black screen with samsung lego.
Before flashing my phone was 4.4.2 i recently received update my phone carrier. Then i rooted it after..
---what i did to solve the problem------
1. I wiped everything (all the catches) and did factory rest. Then tried to restore from backup i made. Didnt work.
2. Connected my phone with Kies and tried frameware upgread. They asked for phone model and s/n, download the framware directly and at the end
it gave me an error. I dont exactly remember what it was but i think it was saying phone can not be recovered.
............................This are what i have done so far.
..................................................................................
Now I'm going to try to flash to the factory rom via Odin. After so many researches, someone was able to fix their phone with they flashed their factory rom and kernel. I thought downloading the factory rom was good enough, what did they mean by flashing the karnel to? you can flash your karnel and rom? where do you get your kenels? This is the link to the process....http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1833177
................................................................
My phone is on Downloading Mode thing.......This is what i see
ODIN MODE
Product Name: SGH-I747M
Current Binary: Custom
System Status: Custom
Qualcom Secureboot: Enable
Warrenty Bit: 1
BootLoader AP SWREV:2
Any one contributing for the help, must appreciated.
Thanks.
Factory reset, but do not restore your backup. Touchwiz and cm/aosp data are not compatible. So when going between the two, you have to factory reset or it'll hang at boot.
You can restore individual apos from something like Titanium backup, but you cannot restore system data or a nandroid backup.
---------- Post added at 02:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:05 PM ----------
If you flash the stock rom, itll probably boot up again because the data you restored is compatible with that.
Odin Says Fail!
so flashing stock rom via Odin failed
How did it fail? What was in the messages in Odin? What firmware did you try to flash?
fixed!

ok well after so many trials i have successfully installed stock rom. I download my stock rom from this site. http://www.mrcrab.net/androidfirmware/SGH-I747M/Samsung-Galaxy-S3-North-America-SGH--I747M.html
i extracted the md5 file the run it via odin again. first it failed, second time it froze third time it took forever and final at 4th trail it passed.
now im running stock rom.
Just one more thing though. under downloading.. mode thing my Warranty Bit: 1 and is written in red. does it mean anything beside warranty void?
It does void warranty yes. But it also breaks your ability to use knox, which no one ive ever seen on xda really cares about!
Glad to hear you finally got it working!
