hello,
I have a problem with booting into bootloader. When I press volume down + power it boots normally. when I press volume up + power it lights green diode and not responding.
Android version: 2.2.1
Soft version: 2.22.405.7
HBOOT 1.02.000
Are you pulling out the battery after every power down? Some wildfires need it.

unfortunetly removing battery seems not to solve problem. it still boots normally to Android.
Hmm
Well it may be inconvenient but you can always issue the command adb reboot bootloader, or install a reboot app from the market

Hi guys i need help. i flash a cm10 kernel but im on a sense rom. of course it wont boot so i normally hold down the power button. but this time it wont reboot! help!:crying::crying:
EDIT:bootloop now but holding power button also doesnt work
Hi. Try connecting the phone to the PC while it is in bootloop. Normally it will be detected by adb before it completely boots. Then you can do an adb reboot recovery.
connect phone to pc
type adb reboot bootloader

I haven't done this for a while but used to do this 100s of times.
I have a stock HTC rom installed without root. It is an experimental version of 2.3 that was never released.
I'm holding down the volume down button and pressing power. When I release the power button it boots normally into standard home screen.
I tried with the back button and the same thing happens.
Has anyone ran across the same problem?
Is there anyway I can boot into HBOOT without the volume down button and no root? Any apps which might help me to do that?
Thanks
afaik you press and HOLD those two buttons until the phone goes on.
Your volume down might have become faulty.
To go to fast boot mode press and hold "back key" while power up. From there press power key once more to go into hboot mode.

I think the volume down button works because when the phone is on i can control the call volume using this button. I also tried the back key to boot into fast boot but that doesn't work.
I hold the two buttons indefinitely. It's only when I release the power buttons that the phone starts booting but always boots into normal mode.
Any other ideas? thanks.
Lol try hold volume up + power

Awww damn!
I guess the only other thing I could try is to flash a different RUU.
Does anyone have a link to the stock Froyo RUU? Would flashing it over a stock GB rom work or wuold it complain that the HBOOT version is different?

Press n "hold" back, press (wait 2 second) and "release" power. Simple. You can't do it wrong. Try again please.

I am really not an idiot.
1) Press and hold power and 'back' at the same time
2) Waiting waiting waiting.... 5 - 10 seconds, nothing happens, black scren
3) Release power while still holding 'back'
4) Same thing happens with volume down and volume up

I want to install an ICS Rom. So I need to root.
To root I need to install the custom HBOOT drivers otherwise unrevoked doesn't pick up the device.
In order to install the custom HBOOT drivers I need to be in HBOOT with USB connected. Is there any other way?
K, does ur volume buttons work when phone is booted? If so, turn off the phone then pull the battery out for 10- 15 seconds then put back in, then press and hold volume down and press power button (while holding vol down) it should boot bootloader
Also make sure in
settings/power
That fast boot is not checked (if u got that option)

Wicked! Thanks!
Removing the battery made the difference. It seems that I have to remove the battery every time after power down or when I powers up it skips HBOOT. Nonetheless it works!

Hi. Sorry if this question repeats but when I boot my brother's Htc I get 4 triangles and Htc logo. Here are all problems:
4 triangles
bootloader (vol down + power) (back button + power) doesn't work
my pc doesn't recognise the phone (i installed htc sync but still no good, i get popup that says USB device not recognised. I use Windows 8.1)

When I plug the phone to pc with usb cable it shows this:

What I tried:
bortak's guide (no good because pc can't recognise it)
flashing RUU (I get usb connection error 170)
android flasher (can't find device)

I also used my friend's laptop with Windows 7. The device was recognised as "My HTC" or smt but I failed to flash RUU. It either gives USB connection error 170 or just says "Sending......" while flashing for a long time and nothing hapens. (I also installed Htc drivers on his pc)
So can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong? And I don't know what was done with this phone earlier because it was bought bricked like that. Thanks in advance.
You'll have to boot in bootloader somehow. It's the only way to fix it.
You can only flash a RUU if you're in fastboot. Your phone is not virtually connected to the PC when in 4 triangles mode. It need to be booted in fastboot.
Are your volume buttons not working? Nor the back button?
Thank you for response. I tried to use volume buttons and back button but they doesn't work. Maybe i need to push them harder. I will try again.

Volume up button is sometimes very less responding on htc desire, press back button (do not release) and press power button (also do nof release )
after 3 secs you should see the white bootloader screen.
If you try to press them together, sometimes it just boots as normal because you may have pressed the power button a little bit earlier

Hi,
I'm sorry to trouble you all, but I fear that my lovely new tablet is bricked
I unlocked/rooted 6 days ago using Wug's tool and everything has been fine. Turned the tablet on today and all i get is the white google logo and the unlocked symbol at the bottom.
I can't get to bootloader or recovery by the power/volume buttons. If i hold down power and vol down for long enough I get a picture of a dead android with a red warning triangle over his chest
There is a windows sound when the device is plugged in via USB, but nothing appears in device manager.
As such, I am at a bit of a loss as to what to do, can anyone help please?
Close to impossible to brick a nexus device.
Recommend downloading the factory image, unzip and run the flash all batch file.

Shut down nexus 7. Now hold volume down and power. When you see the next screen you will press up until the you see recovery mode. Now press power and you will see the Android guy and the red exclamation point. Hold the power and the volume up. You should now be in recovery mode. Use fastboot commands to restore.

My nexus 7 had this issue and my friend told me your eMMC chip is wasted. I gave my little nephew my tablet to play with and i started using it like a mousepad. Just one day i tried pressing these keys at random and my device booted up.
I flashed it so many times unknowgingly this was issue.
Can i ask, why this even happens ?

Hi All,
One of my friend got M8 and one fine day phone went to bootloop automatically and then he rebooted the phone into bootloader and did a sideload of custom rom/may be stock back (he don't know actually) but he said he flashed TWRP. Now after flasing the ROM the phone never started.
Issue is now the computer also did't recognise the device. If I plugin into the wall charges sometimes orange LED glows and sometime not.
It also not booting/ Not going to bootloader. Please help me to fix the phone as it's a imported version from US and indian service center will not help this.
Many thanks in advance,
Mahesh
Did you try volume UP and power until the 3 soft keys stop flashing? That is the equivalent of a battery pull. After the soft keys stop flashing then try to boot to recovery or bootloader. I haven't used ADB Sideload, but I would try using the microSD card to flash a new ROM.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using Tapatalk
i suppose you tried volume up and power together?
Yeah you'll have to get an SD card and then put a ROM on the SD card with an adapter from your computer...hold down both volume keys and power button for 10 seconds and then hold down vol down and power right after and go to recovery, wipe and flash

Odd how it starts bootlooping so you automatically install TWRP and flash a rom and don't think 'why was it bootlooping in the first place?'. Now you voided the warranty
Sorry bud. It's bricked.

Did he tried htc one m8 toolkit? It has options to push to the device command to reboot, or enter recovery.

It just uses adb, which will not work in his phone in this state. Toolkits are never a good idea for troubleshooting.

Just one question, are you having a bootloop or the device wont power on at all? Do you feel any vibration while holding Power+VolDown?
Did you unlock your bootloader before this happened? If you didnt, you can still return it...

It's not powering up at all. No vibrations. As its a Developer edition so bootloader was factory unlocked.
