Hello
My wife has the Note 2. Completely stock, I accepted the 4.3 OTA and let it update her phone. She just showed me a strange screen flicker after hanging up a phone call. It doesn't do it every time but when it happens, only a reboot will fix it.
The notification bar works still but the TW app drawer button nor the home screen respond to touches.
Has anyone experienced something like this?
Any thoughts or ideas would be helpful. Thank you

I've had this issue happen a few times, so I disregarded it, but just a few minutes ago it happened 3 times in a row. Here is what happens:
I'm in the middle of a phone call, and suddenly I hear a beep, and I look at the phone and the call was disconnected (I'm back on the 'Phone' screen). I then realize that the phone becomes unresponsive (the screen doesn't respond, same thing goes for the Home/Menu/Back/Search buttons).
The only thing I can do is press the top 'Off/Lock' button to shut off the screen, then press it again, and everything goes back to normal.
This happened 3 times within 5 minutes.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem? If so, any advice/solutions?
My 30-day purchase window is up in about a week, so I'd like to get this resolved before then to avoid any headaches.
Thanks in advance.
Have you loaded any apps? Modified the phone at all?
I've never seen this type of behaviour before.
Thanks for the reply. No, I haven't rooted it, or loaded custom time or anything. The only thing I've done is just download/install some Apps from the Android Market, that's it.
What do you all think I should do?
*bump*
I think I may have fixed the issue -- I had the Google Voice installed on my phone, and when I uninstalled it, I haven't had the problem since (it's been about 3 days).
Has anyone else experienced any stability issues or glitches using the Google Voice app?
My mom has been having this issue with her stock 2.1 Inc... She says the screen suddenly stops working and all that will work is the power button and volume rocker. Says it usually happens mid call.
PS. she doesn't have google voice. And google voice doesn't cause this issue on my Inc.
Yeah, it just happened to me again, and I don't have Google Voice installed, so that's not the culprit.
Is anyone else having this problem? Please let us know in this thread - I am going to swap the phone out tonight at my local Verizon store.
It happens to me frequently. Before and after I rooted. Let me know what Verizon does about it.

I got the phone replaced at the Verizon store a couple of days ago, and I have yet to see the problem. However, ill keep a close eye out and will post another update in the next several days.

So I have a Boost Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2 (Epic 4G Touch) and I recently found out there was an update from Ice Cream Sandwich to Jelly Bean. So I immediately rushed to my computer and updated the software. I absolutely love it! My girlfriend tried it out and she really liked it, so I plugged her phone in and did the update as well. Her phone is the T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S2.
When we updated her phone (using the automated Samsung Kies update), she was not too happy with her version. She lost the "Active Applications" widget (and program it seems, we can't find it anywhere anymore; it's the one used to end programs and clear the RAM).
Instagram has a lot of problems. If she tries uploading a picture, when she's on the screen to add effects to the image and what not, she cannot see the bar at the top or bottom of the screen. We tried clearing the data, then uninstalling it and reinstalling it but that made no difference.
Also, when she tries to use the camera sometimes, something very similar happens and she cannot see the buttons on the top or bottom of the screen.
About half the time that she unlocks the phone, the screen just shows black, and you can't do anything. If you hold the power button down, it'll show the "Device options" box to restart or turn off the phone, even though the background is still showing black, so we know it's not freezing at all.
She's pretty mad that her phone is no longer working correctly cuz the update on my phone is awesome. We didn't run into any issues with the install procedure while updating her phone. I'm just trying to figure out what to do. I really don't want to wipe the phone clean and try hard rebooting it. And we really don't want to have to get it replaced.
Has anyone else had any issues with this? And do you have any ideas on what to do to fix it?
it sounds like she would be better off rooting the phone and installing the latest aokp rom which is 4.2.2
thats what i'm running right now on my t989 and its running smoother than stock
I updated to GPE 4.4.3 through the RUU recently and have had some pretty bad persistent touchscreen problems recently.
I have turned show touches on in developer settings and discovered the the issue takes two forms. Sometimes the screen has trouble tracking my finger. Ill swipe my finger around, and the phone will not register my finger smoothly unless I press down hard. Then sometimes this issue will randomly fix itself and the phone will smoothly track my finger on the screen without the need to press down hard. When this happens however, a new problem arises. There will be a persistent ghost tap in the upper left hand corner. The screen thinks it's getting repeatedly pressed. Additionally, the location it thinks its being pressed sometimes moves a drop around.
When I downgrade back to 4.4.2 however the problem disappears. I've tried multiple 4.4.3 roms, and even tried running the 4.4.3 RUU, yet the issue persists. What could possibly be the problem. Could it be hardware related? In which case why does it only show on 4.4.3?
I really need to fix this, and will offer a bounty of $10 to anyone who will work with me to try to figure out what exactly the issue is, and fix it. I can send videos and logcats if need be.
Bump. I could really use help with this issue...
The second problems happens to me too
Sometimes when I open the gmail app, an email is pressed on its own without me touching the screen.
This happened a lot of times.
Has anyone else encountered this?
Weird... Are you running a custom kernel?

Good question.
I'm on HTC stock 2.22.401.4 and didn't encounter this problems with the actual or predecessor firmwares. So it could either be a problem with the GPE 4.4.3 kernel, or caused by a custom kernel installed. The - as I think - only alternative is that one of the installed apps is causing issues ..
hi guys, i got a d855 and i have some issues which i think they may be stock rom's bugs and i d like to hear your opinion. I have the latest ota V10h-EUR-XX btw.
1) Every time i restart it appears in the notification panel the "voice mate" shortcut. I remove it using the edit at far right but still it reappears every time i reboot the phone.
2) Sometimes after an unanswered call or message the screen turns on as usual but it doesnt turn off. Ofc i ve selected to shut off at 30 seconds from the settings. Even if i change the settings to like 15 seconds the screen still wont turn off unless i manually lock it. This problem fixes if i restart the phone.
3) Every time i boot my phone i get this message: "unfortunately the process com.google.process.gapps has stopped"
So is there someone else who experiences these kind of issues?
wow, these 3 bugs are new to me. haven't experienced any of those at all.
I'm on V10J global though.
You're having permissions issues.
I'd bet my left testicle that a fresh flash back to stock will fix all 3 of your issues.
+1 on the voice mate .. irritating ~
I've encountered the screen on issue - although not only did the screen stay on after a missed call, the phone also became and remained completely non-responding, no screen input registered. Had to reboot manually. It happened only once in 3 weeks though.
Lately (last week or so) sometimes when I unlock my phone Google+ is running with just a black screen and I have to hit the home button to close out. I wake phone to see a Google+ at the top of an otherwise black screen. I never even open G+ so this has been frustrating. Anyone else seeing this? I don't want to uninstall because I use it for photo editing
Are you rooted? I'm having the same problem and it's driving me nuts. I'm running a log right now in case it does it again to see exactly what's going on

Are you running in battery save mode at all? also what rom are you on? aosp or stock based?
ive noticed some apps have strange artifacts on battery save mode for aosp > i.e. lollipop L launcher. panels disappear from the app drawer (due to an animation im guessing)
I'm running battery save mode at 30%. Rooted since day 1 but stock ROM
The same thing has been happening to me but only after I charge it, and every time I charge it. I started noticing it about 2 or 3 weeks ago. The first, or one of the first, times it happened it froze the phone and I could not do a soft or hard reboot, had to remove the battery.
I have a T-Mobile G3 (D851) not rooted, stock Tmobile Kitkat 4.4.2, no battery saver.
My phone is tied to my gmail account so I'm guessing this behavior might be related to some type of auto-backup/sync. Still trying to figure out what service though.
same issue
I have the same problem. I was rooted at one point but unrooted before i updated to lollipop so now i am only on stock. I also have battery saver one, 15% i think. I know if i just charge it for a bit it doesn't happen so it has something to do with it charging for a while
