Functional in Odex roms and Deodex
Put this on /system/app/ (JB) or /system/priv-app/ (KK) and change permissions to rw-r--r-- (644)
Ps. Rename apks Odex Mms.apk.bak and Mms.odex.bak of system
Working on 4.4.2
working on 4.3. Tested by me.

Any chance of a better explanation on how to install? there is only one apk in the zip so do u rename the odex file that's in the phone already and copy the apk you provided over the stock apk and rename that too?
Nice idea!the root is required?

Root is required to write install to the system partition. So, yes

I followed the directions and restarted. It shows as a program, but the default settings don't show it as a default mms option and when I tried to use it to send a message it force closed.

I'm a little confused. My clock and calender are the same as they were on my factory rom?
same here.. maybe you should make a screenshot of what you are meaning...
The samsung calendar+clock widget...I'm using darky's ROM and as a master of fact all of the stock samsung widgets gave been removed. However I am only interested in the calendar+clock widget...any ideas on how to get it back?
The closest I came to getting it back was that samsung .apk list on this forum, but the apk's don't install correctly...
AFAIK, those apks should be copied to /system/app
try copying the apk there. use adb or Root Explorer or Super Manager.
I need this Widget.
Please help me

is easy copy the Framework-res.apk of the custom ROM in your sd.
then you get access root ROM 431.
with root explorer copy framework-res.apk file in the system folder and change the permissions, then move that file to the folder framework
Maybe this can help you

-
Rename your application. Eg: "detikcom.apk" to "detikcom.apk.bak"
-
Move your apps to /system/app/ using eg: RootExplorer. Make sure the app folder has been changed to mount R/W.
-
Change the permissions of your application into rw-r--r--.
-
Rename back to "detikcom.apk", and re-mount to mount R/O.
-
Done :highfive:
Before :
After :
The way this works in my Ace. I use Democracy NT CM7.2 CustomROM
And I don't need to reboot again to install the application into the ROM.
For those who have tried other ROM, please let me know.
If my tutorial can help you, please press the ":good: Thanks"
Thank you.
Sorry for my english

It works but is ugly...poor colours/res. I don't know if the original is like this
Is impossible to extract from original bootanimation... I must make from a YouTube video and I can't make 100% perfect probably on galaxy big display the quality is poor I can't try it.... I try on a galaxy W with 3.7 inch and the quality is good
