I just ordered this phone and don't have any plans on activating it right now or maybe ever. Every time I start it up it tries to activate and I have to cancel out. Is there a way to turn off this behavior?

When i place a call and put the phone to my ear and then pull back away the screen does not "wake". It stays de-activated, no matter what i do. Eventually the only thing to do is to hold the power button down long enough for the phone to reboot.
Stock ROM, no root.
Thanks for any help anyone can offer.
I posted this on Q&A but got no response. I know this is where the smart guys in the room hang out so figured i'd have better luck here.

Honestly you'll probably get flamed here more then getting any help. Please keep this stuff in the Q&A section.

Problem solved. Thread can be removed as it's a dupilicate. If anyone has same issue just turn off proximity sensor then turn it back on.
So my Sprint GS3 wont boot up....I haven't done anything to it for a couple days. It was fine this morning..it kinda dropped on the ground but it was still working. After some time I noticed that although the volume was up...there was no sound, so I went and did a reboot...since then I cant get the phone to start up...I cant even get it to go into recovery....what else can I do?
The phone goes up to where it says "Samsung Galaxy S 3"...holds there for like 30 sec (I think) then goes black...after that...there no responds...
I'm running CM10 (JellyBro) Rom...and I haven't had an issues until now....I believe the fall has made it act the way its acting now....do I have any options?

Have you tried booting into download mode? That's the only thing I can think of right now.
Hi, I am currently running AOKP JB Build 3 on my gnex, with franco kernel milestone 6. Somehow my gnex turn off the wifi each time i unlock the phone. So it kinda goes like this:
phone connected to wifi, i pressed the power button, after a while i turn on my phone, on the lockscreen the wifi looked on and connected, i proceed to unlock my phone, wifi disconnected, after a while the wifi will reconnect again.
is this normal? what's wrong and what can i do about it?
sersolm bcos
I use AOKP, too. But I have no trouble.

Settings, WiFi, menu, advanced.
good day.
Recently, whenever I connect to my school's wifi, the connection freezes up for around a half minute, and the phone goes through the reboot animation.
The reason I say animation is because it only goes through the power off anim and instantly goes to the lock screen. The wifi is then fully functional. This only happens with this network, and other phones connect fine. Also, my home wifi works fine. Any help would be appreciated.
