I ordered a new note 10.1 2014 on ebay from tropical_mobile.
I read on this forum that the product comes from Singapore or Malaysia and it has this stock fw inside P605OLBBMJ9.
Since I'm Italian and out of the box I'd flash the Italian stock fw (P605XXUBMJ9 with ITV csc) do you know if I will receive future Italian OTA/Kies update after this procedure?

Hi, I'm interested in this, I bought a Note 2014 p605 from Hong Kong as well but I'd like to flash a Spain or Euro stock rom. Is it necessary to root the device before using Odin? Is there a tutoria/faq somewhere?
mouse100, where did you find the steps to do this?
Cheers.
I found steps from my experience
You don't need root to flash euro rom and your status remains official and Knox will remain 0x0.
Here what you have to do:
1- install samsung kies 3 (to obtain official drivers)
2- Download odin 3.09
3- Go to sammobile website and search for latest European stock rom you like for your sm-p605 and with your preferred CSC
4- When your tablet is power off, turn it on by pressing ON+Vol down
5- Connect your tablet to pc and let it install all drivers automatically
6- Extract the downloaded firmware and you should obtain a tar/md5 file. So click on AP button and load that file. Don't touch others options.
7- Click start and wait until flash is finished.
8- Tablet will reboot and it takes some minutes to be ready.
Samsung SM-P9005 - Tapatalk
Make sure that all kies processes are turned off on your computer (task manager) when you are flashing a firmware with odin. It can cause problems.

download any jb fw from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2340849, then extract to a folder(in pc, not phone), download odin if you dont have it
1. Power phone off.
2. Press Volume down+Home+Power key to enter download mode.
3. Press volume up when prompted.
4. Make sure you have the drivers all installed and connect the phone to pc.
(thanks gumball3000)
5. open odin
6. click PDA slot, wait for explorer to open, find the md5 you have extracted and double click on it
7. dont touch anything else and click start(odin will hang to check file)
8. wait for finish and it will reboot, wait for PASS in odin and you are safe to disconnect cable
I got this Huawei from China market, it's P6-U06 and running Chinese B113SP02, I'm looking for a best way to make it International and update to B125>B132>KitKat. Problem is there is no option for local update, only OTA but it is says "device up to date" Also I got bootloader unlocked and TWRP 2.7.0.0 installed from
new and there is no root for a moment.
Please see pictures for more details
I it's actually running a custom ROM because atx is a dev team from china so. It don't look like a fake copy.

Thanks I know it's no fake. The question is how to update to official kitkat if there is no "local update" option. Also I'm not sure where to find a stock recovery to force update.app file.
Recently I've successfully installed JB 4.2.2 and it seems good http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2570602. I can live with it,
but how to get official kitkat on my device?

Root your phone, download b.513 rom repacked by oxalis and flashed true twrp.
Sent from my HUAWEI P7-L07 using Tapatalk
When you want to use stock recovery than go to TWRP 2.6.3.3 for jelly bean and there should be an stock recovery for B118 this you can flash. After that you can flash the update.app for B132 and from there you can flash B512 which is the newest international firmware, if you want Chinese firmware you can update to B508.
thanks guys I will try both ways and will report

That's weird. I've flashed B118 stock recovery, full wiped and forced update.app but failed, I've tried B125 and B132. Update.app has been placed in my sd memory card /dload/. For now I'm on JB custom rom with stock recovery.
Maybe because I'm on custom rom based on B120, I have no idea
SOLVED
To any one having same problem as me. Flash B118 Stock Recovery (via bootloader and fastboot commands) Download P6 Unicom EMUI2.0 from here http://dl.vmall.com/c01l4l4a2y#, unpack and copy dload folder to your memory card and install from "locale update" or force update from recovery by pressing power+volume-volume when phone is off. Next, download B132 International and make update the same way as before (update.app in dload folder). Last step, download B512 official international kitkat and again unzip and use "local update". Just remember to delete old update.app in dload folder. If you experiencing any issues, just do factory reset for fresh install. As my phone is P6-U06, I don't know if it will works for others.
Just please notice: after B132 update I've had message "android process media has stopped" and had to factory reset before update to B512 KK.
so best Idea make a backup of all your important things before you do anything.
I hope it will help to somebody else.
Hi.
Sorry to bump this, but, Osstis, how did you get your bootloader unlocked? Is it necessary to have it unlocked in order install another firmware via local update? Mine is locked, I checked. I'm running a Chinese firmware (B508) and Google Play Store force closes everytime I open it, I've tried almost everything I could find online to get it fixed but nothing works.
I want to install B512 on my P6, too. I understand that I need to install a B1xx firmware first, but I'm not sure if I need to unlock the bootloader to do it. If anyone can shed some light on this it would be greatly appreciated. I rooted my phone through the one-click methods found online, those software say my phone is rooted but the app Root Checker Basic says its not, how can I be sure?. No custom recovery installed.
Thanks.
try to get your phone in bootloader mode via adb (adb reboot bootloader)..
there type "fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU" (16*U)..
this worked for me (coming from intl b125 locked)..

no..i dont think so..
but i think you missed to load the bootloader at first with the cmd "adb reboot bootloader"..

Isn't "adb reboot bootloader" simply the command to boot into bootloader? That's the first command I entered. If hadn't, I wouldn't have been able to enter "fastboot oem unlock UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU". Would I? I might be wrong

Thanks, On What ROM is based the old kernel that you have, maybe I can extrack it from a ROM in Sammobile. I have an old kernel but is for android 4.3 not 4.4. I have the S3 Neo with dual SIM and 1.4GHz Snapdragon 400 quadcore.
I dont know, because I downloaded only old kernel, without stock rom. I have single SIM s3 Neo 4x1.4 eu version.
I think, last rom with old kernel is from 05/06 2014 or older ver.

Hi
In theoriy it is possible to extract the contents of that tar file and flash it with adb or maybe heimdall.
There is a recovery img and some cache image. I guess you need to write the recovery img to the recovery partition. But i dont know the commands (would be also interested in them!!) and the chache image belongs also somewhere.
If someone could point out the locations and the commands this would be awesome!
Thanks

Hello XDA,
I am looking to update my Tab S to Lollipop. Problem is, I rooted it almost a year ago and do not know the method in which I did it. I'm guessing without knowing any other information, my best best bet would be downloading 5.0.2 from Sammobile (currently doing so) and using Odin 3.09? Is this the easiest way?
Also, if I'm located in the USA, what region do I want to use for the download? I didn't see anything that applied to me, so I picked an unknown region. Is there something else I should be looking for?

The quickest way would be to use Samsung Kies. The download is quicker but it installs immediately so you don't get to keep the download.
EDIT: Also the US region is called Cellular South.

Is that what Smart Switch Mobile is? Do you happen to have a link for a short guide? And will I still need to download the stock firmware when using Kies?
And thanks for clearing up the region question.
http://www.samsung.com/in/support/usefulsoftware/KIES/#none
Use the link to download Kies, install, connect tablet to pc and open Kies. From there you'll know what to do. No guide necessary. No need to download the firmware either. Kies is automated once you select upgrade.
EDIT: There are two versions of Kies. Grab Kies3.

Thank you! You were right, Kies3 immediately recognized that I did not have the latest firmware. So now I'm waiting for the update to download and implement itself.
I am in the exact same situation as you.

Kies detected that there was an update. But BEEN HOURS with "Preparing software update components for Galaxy Tab S"
I closed it and I am trying with Smart Switch .. same .. been 1 hour now and nothing happens.

You may want to check with other sources, but my initial thought before getting a response here was to download the current firmware build and use the Odin tool. I'm assuming it would work for you.

I have downloaded the stock ROM from some Russian web site which then directed me to some Google drive, a 1.6GB download, in my case SEE-T805XXU1BOD1-20150511102748.zip
I then used Odin to flash it - Select BL for "T805XXU1BOG2_bootloader.tar.md5" (stock bootloader) and AP for "T805XXU1BOD1_T805OXX1BOD1_T805XXU1BOD3_HOME.tar.md5" (stock ROM)
I believe that the above procedure works under almost all circumstances, root or no.
I then made plenty of backups with TWRP so that I do not have to use Odin anymore, I simply restore the stock ROM from backup (plus I get all my applications and system as I want it rather than having to re-do everything from scratch each time).
And just to say that all the OSes I have downloaded so far, they all had problems, so I end up restoring the stock ROM within hours of installing a new OS.
