[Q] 4.4.2 debrick.img i747 - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

So i have an i747 galaxy s3 and was running 4.4.2, and i am hard bricked, let me assure you i have tried the 16gb micro sd debrick.img but it still wont work althought i only had a 4.3 debrick.img.So if some one can give me a 4.4.2 debrick.img by doing this
"busybox dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/backup.bin bs=1M count=70"
And uploading it i would greatly appreciate it. i am not sure if this method will work and here is why, it was bricked by using a version of ezunlocker for a verizon phone to unlock my att phone's boot loader. If any one can help me out and upload the file that would be great and also if any one has any input regarding the usage of the ezunlocker and the status of my phone and the fix using the 16gb debrick.img method and can give any. again it would be great.

i looked all over the internet for this. finally the right 4.4~ is found
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15759

The i747 bootloader is not locked. I have no idea what that Verizon app would have done, but if that's what bricked it, our debrick method may not work. We also have not been able to restore any 4.4.2 bricks yet. Thats why i posted a new script to create the image, in hopes that doing it a little differently would help.
I wish you luck, but considering how it was bricked, dont get your hopes up too much. Its still worth trying of course, but i have a feeling a jtag service might be the only way.

did same on my first s3 i747. tried to unlock a already unlocked bootloader. before i knew any better, went and got a new s3. (back in my pre-newb days...before i could even claim newbness status.lol), then discovered XDA. started reading and found out about jtag. now that s3 belongs to my brother.
not helpful, i know. just my story.good luck with debrick.img method.

Unfortunately it did not work
I was orignally on 4.1.2 and flashed task650's newest AOKP release with CWM but for some reason was bootlooping and could not get past the "Swagger Activated" boot animation. So then I tried to revert back to the stock rom via Odin but I must have tried flashing a 4.3 stock rom because it's bricked pretty good now. Odin does not recognize the phone - device manager displays it as QSHUSB_DLOAD. I've tried making my own jig with no luck. And just recently, I've tried 3 different i747 debrick images using the sd card method (16gb / class 10). Up until just an hour ago, I could take the battery out and plug the phone into my laptop via usb cable and the red light would come on but that doesn't even happen anymore. When I hold down the 3 button combination everynow and then I'll hear Windows "device connect noises" as if it's trying to connect but nothing will happen. I know the correct Samsung drivers are installed on my pc because everything was showing up fine prior to me flashing the AOKP rom.
I'm beginning to think there no more hope for me. Idk if I wan't to bother having my phone shipped out and serviced or JTAG'ed or whatever.

Have you tried different sd cards. Many people find some won't work, while others do.

Sorry for the long wait for reply . i don't often check my email. To answer you question . Yes you have to write it to the microsd as a bootable image then insert the microsd and boot the phone . it might take awhile of holding down the power button before it shows signs of life. You might also have to take the battery out and try a few times . Once you have it booted back up use Odin to flash the stock rom back onto your phone then take out the sd card and try to turn it on. i747 Hard Bricked: QHSUSB - DLOAD : Needing a debrick.img

SGH-I747 (4.1.2 i747's please)/ SGH-i747m( If you have a official 4.3 i747m, please post a debrick.img) only:
Hi, I recently hard bricked my phone into QHSUSB DLOAD and I am going to attempt repairing it through the SD Card boot method.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/editpost.php?do=editpost&p=47431259
I need a debrick.img to flash to the SD card in a Linux OS.
I would have gotten it myself but my phone is obviously dead. I found one before on XDA, but it did not work on my device and it gave me an error in the Linux terminal when it should not have.
-snip-
The end of the 3rd boot-loader stage in mmcblk0 is at 77.3 megabytes. If you are going to help out using your device, try to refrain from uploading an image with a different ROM other than root.
Code:
dd if=/dev/block/mmcblk0 of=/sdcard/backup.img bs=2m count=81054925
The count is the amount of bytes. I am not sure if it is meant to be 1000 bytes=kilobyte or 1024 bytes=kilobyte. The count above is for 1024.
I need someone to install the Galaxy S III unified toolkit, and pull the first 7 partitions from mmcblk0 ,which is where the third bootloader stage ends.(Don't upload a heavily modified device please) http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=213 Once you get the files, PM me.
If anyone has a link to a working one, please post that. If you want to get your own image to help me, go ahead.
Thanks guys.
Sorry for the bump... I just need the device running again since the state it's in, it CAN be unbricked.

I tried to unlock what I thought was a locked bootloader(I could only enter bootloader through ADB)
I found an article that says ezunlock works on all S III's.
It corrupted my bootloader, and my phone gives off no signs of life except "Device QHSUSB-DLOAD not recognized" when plugged in.
This means the motherboard/processor wasn't able to boot from the hard disk, so then it tries the SDcard if it matches the phone close enough.
I need someone to use their rooted i747 to dump the first 77.3 megabytes of "mmcblk0". That contains the firmware and bootloaders. With that, i can burn it to an sdcard in a linux operating system and plug it into my phone.

Thanks for that link! It looks very promising, and I can probably find a stock boot.IMG in there. I will work on tomorrow. If I succeed, I'll edit the OP and make a debrick guide for this drvice forum. A word of advice, try not to mess with your bootloader or you end up like me

Hi, the toolkit didn't fix my phone, but its defiantly a step up. Since I'm assuming you have the toolkit installed that you suggested it, could you do me a favor?
It will be a bit easier using the toolkit to extract the partition files. If you could pull the first 7 partitions from "mmcblk0" of your device through the toolkit, it will probably set the next step to fix my phone. (Assuming you have a 16g i747... I don't really know)
You don't have to do this of course.
Thanks man.
Bump. Can anyone help out? All I need is the first 7 partitions.

What message appears on your computer when you plug it in?
If it says QHSUSB-DLOAD, you are in faint light.
It stands for Qualcomm High Speed USD Download Mode.
What is means that your processor(qualcomm), is trying to boot, but it cannot find proper drivers for the hardware.
It will then look for something to boot from in the SDcard.
Here is a thread on how some other people were able to do it : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2439367
I have an I747M technically. I went for an actual I747M image just in case there was a slight difference. in the thread that one came from though there should be one for the actual att device if you look through it.
and just to confirm, yes the phone was blank and unresponsive. showing up as QHSUSB-DLOAD before i loaded that img onto my external SDcard. and I am using the same phone currently.

OK , take out your battery and tell me your model number(Behind battery). And what phone company do you use?
Did you possibly save a NANDROID on a computer?
( if you have i747m, you can fix your phone, but its hard to do( I havnt done it yet)

You need to install a Linux operating system (Ubuntu works) to run the commands.
Edit:! According to the T-Mobile thread, you might need a debrick.IMG from a phone on 4.3
Once I know your phones model number, I can edit the main post and ask for you phone model's images.

No I cannot, my friend(parklane79) and I actually found a method, it seems promising but i need to try it out first.
im not afforded the link rights yet but the title is "Fixing a bootloader-bricked Galaxy S3 using an SD card (Qualcomm SGS3 variants)" and a more simpler guide for n00bs(although not a complete n00b been doing this for a few years now :good: ) like myself, "[GUIDE]Unbrick a Hard Bricked SPRINT Galaxy S3 (Without JTAG)" but for the second guide you need to grab the i747 debrick.img off the first page of the first guide.

sounds like you're stuck until you get that .img file. If you know someone with the same phone you could maybe get them to install 4.4.2 and get the file from them? otherwise keep asking around or wait until 4.4.2 is released for the s3, which might take a while.

I did, it was on CM 10.2 when i had flashed improper bootloaders and bricked it. I used the sd card to install 4.3, unroot+ reset flash counter then took it out so it went back to bricked. My only fear is that they may some how get it into download mode instead of just replacing the board and see the warranty bit: 1 which isnt able to be reset as it is an e-fuse which is blown when you install firmware without knox.

Are you using the samsung warranty of AT&T? And also if the sd card is working for u cant you just use odin to flash? Or does the sd card not fix any bootloader issues?

im sending in it through bell mobility. it was a replacement phone that i paid the $150 deductable on and has a 90 warranty. I said it was having issues/defective so they sent an s4 as free replacement on the 90 day. I prefer it to be bricked to fit the defective description as well as to decrease the chances of them finding out i had messed with it, the only real sign being "warranty bit: 1" in red on the download screen. I did use odin to flash the current 4.3 stock that it has right now, and i might be able to get it to boot without the card if i flash the bootloaders some more despite having done it twice and the card still being required. Like i said though, i prefer it hard bricked and i've erased every sign other than warranty bit: 1 that i messed with it by installing stock, unrooting, and resetting flash counter.

i747m 4.4.2 debrick help

as many people have hard bricked their i747m on 4.4.2 including me therefore i decided to make a thread to discuss the solution and ask for 4.4.2 debrick file from those who have official 4.4.2 rooted rom
There's already a thread for this. Splitting it up doesn't really do a lot of good imo. Its best for all support and info to be in the one place. Multiple threads for one subject makes it harder to follow, to help others, to find information etc. Plus, when someone needs the info in the future, they may go to one thread, not realizing the answers they seek are in a different one.

I have but I was told by technicians here that i need to replace the board, I still think that once there is life in my phone (S3 seen in Device Manager as QHSUSB_DLOAD). I read somewhere that that indicates there is not enough power to initiate some resurrection and a jtag or combination of that and some bootloader flashing needs to be performed. Can you help me?
QHSUSB_DLOAD is just a low level bootloader used by Samsung and Qualcomm to write to all areas of the device. It depends on how you bricked it if you want to know if it can be fixed.

Never flash firmware intended for another device, no matter how similar. (Though im not sure what youre asking exactly since your device is the canadian model. You said it's an I747M right?)
Luckily Mobile Odin doesn't flash the full firmware.
You will need a debrick.img created using your model device with the same or newer firmware. Hopefully one of the ones above will work for you.

yea, i also advise installing firmwares OTA or with kies because it will get the right firmware for your device and you will have a smaller chance of screwing up. If you get it manually at sam-mobile, you might get the wrong one which can mess up your phone

Using any SD cards other than class 10 have a higher fail rate. That doesnt mean that it wont work at all. Try a class 10 card. In your case, it wont work with class 4.

Also, what build of KK did you flash? You need someone on that build, to create one for you.

[Q] Samsung Galaxy S3 SGH-i747m with Fido Hard Bricked???

Hello from Montreal Quebec,
I unrooted my S3 yesterday back to the original firmware 4.3 (factory reset) Everything was working fine with the phone. I turned off the phone and when I tried to turn it back on... nothing happened, no vibration, nothing, would not power on, screen blank. I did try to get it into download and still nothing. So I think my phone is Hard Brick. Just so you know, my battery is 100%.
I did try putting the debrick image for my phone (debrick-SGH-I747M-UEMK5) on a 16gb sd card using Win32DiskImager. With number attempts of pressing the volume down + home key + power button for 15-30 seconds, nothing works.
One thing I notice, if I plug in my phone to my pc or wall for a few seconds, the red light for charging will come on so I know there is some kind of life. Sometimes when I put in the battery, the Torch light will flash once, but no luck getting the phone into download mode.
Would I need Jtag to get this back up and running and is there any other way to do this without Jtag?
Please let me know, any help would be appreciated.
Thank You.
qks
Plug onto the computer and open device manager. If it shows QHSUSB_DLOAD its hard bricked.
In this case if the debrick method doesn't work, jtag is the only other option. Try different sdcards first if you can. Many times it doesn't work simply because of the sdcard.
What worries me though is how this happened. Did you flash anything before the factory reset? If not, its possible you could be looking at a hardware failure such as the memory. Hopefully not though...

Thanks for the reply, I did what you said and I see nothing in device manager. The red light came on while the battery and sd card was in the phone...
What happen was I un-rooted the phone using "How to Unroot Samsung Galaxy S3! [No Computer] [AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon]" on youtube which I can't post here.
I have done this many time with this phone (About 5 times) without any problems. This is a first for me and I'm puzzled.
So you did or did not flash something before resetting?
Did it used to connect to the computer and are you using the stock usb cable? If yes, it sounds like hardware problems.

I flash the original firmware if that's what you're saying. I did exactly what I mentioned in the video on YouTube which at the moment I can't post outside links but this is the title on YouTube... "How to Unroot Samsung Galaxy S3! [No Computer] [AT&T/T-Mobile/Verizon]"
I used stock usb cable.
Dont take it wrong, not intending this to sound rude, but I generally dont watch vids that people use. I like to answer what I can and move on. It just takes a lot less time to read that you flashed the firmware and factory reset than to watch a vid to see what you did.
One thing the video cant tell me for sure though is what firmware you had before and which did you flash this time. I know you said original, but that original version will depend on when you actually bought the device.
looking back over the thread though, im wondering if you did have 4.3 firmware, and then flashed 4.4.2 firmware with Mobile Odin? Is this accurate?

No worries man, I had firmware 4.3 rooted and then flashed with stock 4.3. with Mobile Odin. Never had a problem before until now.
Ok, just wanted to be sure. If you had flashed 4.4.2 over 4.3 with mobile odin, it would permanently break your phone, but it happens exactly how you described in the op.
Which 4.3 firmware was running on it and which did you flash? I just noticed there are several different 4.3 builds for the I747M. MK5, MK3, ND2, ND3.
You tried the mk5 debrick.img, but if you had ND2, for example, that image probably won't work. It could also just be that your sdcard isnt right. Were you able to try any different ones?

I used the I747M 4.3 build as always. I did not try the mk5 debrick cause it's not I747m but I can try that and see if it works. Going to look for one now.
As for SD Cards, I have a 16GB and a 32GB, no luck.

Sorry mk5 is I747M, my bad.
I tried
debrick-SGH-I747M-UEMK5
debrick-SGH-I747U-CUEMJB3
No luck...
MJB wont work on the I747M. MK5 will probably only work if you are sure thats what you were running. As I mentioned before there are several 4.3 builds for that model. Some depend on your carrier.
For example Telus and Koodoo, and possibly one or two other carriers got updates from MK5 to ND2. So if you had been updated to the newer ND2 build (still 4.3), that MK5 image isnt going to work.
If you are certain you were running MK5, then it could be the sdcard youre using is the problem, or it may not be recoverable using that method.

Yes I am very sure. This one I used. I747MVLUEMK5_I747MOYAEMK5_FMC

Ok, then its either the sdcard or its not recoverable without a jtag service.

the size and the class of the SD are probably not so important but some people have found success following this. More often, eg on the S3 debrick thread, they say they had to try the whole process ie incl set up SD card multiple times before it worked, in some cases. You must have a debrick image that has the same or newer boot loader than the one on your phone. AFAIK
But there is no guarantee it will work even if you do everything right.....
