He seems to be refering to Wifi Tether Router. It costs 1.95 on the app store but, it's certainly worth it.
No go
Running Tweaked and even switched to stock kernel.
No go.
I'll email the dev and see what they might be able to do, otherwise it didn't work on Tweaked ROM.
It works for me
It works for me! Thanks! I'm on stock deodexed ROM with SaberN3 kernel flashed. (T-Mobile). Been looking and trying everything but only this works so far.
Please use the earlier thread on same topic here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502965

This is because your PS3 will only find wifi that is infastructure. The wifi tether from your phone is ad-hoc. There is a way to tether infastructure, but i'm just not quite familiar with it right now cause i never need to do it; but running a search for "how to wifi tether infastructure" should easily populate some good results.
You need to use the hotspot hack for infrastructure mode. If you are on a stock odexed ROM you need to make sure you flash the odexed mod and flash the deodexed mod if you're on a deodexed ROM.
Try different wifi tether there is like beta 6 through 10 or put a ROM on phone with hacked wifi hot spot

Been trying out the free program Onavo...I like their widgets and you can block a program from using data.

I just installed this, and it seems to have the same problem as My Data Manager, always reporting something like 1/1000th of actual 3G usage (though wifi works fine).
Is it working for you?
It seems the Galaxy S Glide (or Captivate Glide for you Americans!) has an issue with the stock kernel not reporting data usage properly. I found using the only other custom kernel here fixed the issue (which is mentioned in the respective thread). This can be done with or without root. The thread for the custom kernel can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1468626. If you need help with changing the kernel feel free to ask!

I'm having the same issue, it looks like the ardatdat kernel fixes this issue, I'm using the Cranium Kernel, and just changed my quota to MB instead of GB counter...

I live in sweden and i recently got a t-mobile galaxy s2. i am trying to usb tether and wifi tether, but when I check the box it get unchecked again, and the wifi tether slider refuses to toggle state to on. I installed kies on windows 7 which can recognize the device as a storage device but i can not use the device as a modem. My guess is that the application on the phone that allow me to tether is some what locked or work with T-mobile and not with providersin sweden and thus I might need to install a custom android Rom from. I looked for solutions over the internet and I could not find much, I even reinstalled android via kies, but that did not help. Please help, what should I do, and if I need to install a rom which is the best one that support viper and other popular applications, because I installed one time xdaandroid on my old HTC, but viper application said that their team does not support custom made Roms. Thanks

The version of Android would be helpful for this discussion. The rom name would be too. I assume you are on a T889...
More info would be useful to further the conversation.

Is your device type set to Samsung Galaxy S3? If not, try that.
