I have limited bandwidth in my network. so I need to control the gprs data. I had rooted the phone and try to install droidwall and firewall but none of them active due to no iptables in samsung room. Is there a way to install iptables to samsung rom or I should update to new custom rom?
sgy kernel does not support Netfilter, i guess its not possible
Do you know any custom rom for sgy with iptables?

Define free. If you mean like what you pay to your operator, no. If you want to bypass censorship or something like that, its possible with vpn.

Some of the ISPs like in india and indonesia have a loophole in their firewall. Normally if you have a prepaid sim and you dont have a load/airtime available you wont be able to browse any website. But if you can find an open port on their firewall that still allows you to pass data then you can still use the VPN and get internet access. DroidVPN scans common open ports which makes it easier for you to connect. There are also some isps that allows you to send icmp or ping requests but blocks all tcp and udp ports in which case you can still use droidvpn since it can tunnel your vpn connection through icmp.

It's already explained on Post #7. It may not require subscribing to a plan, but, the APN details are out there for everyone to access.

It cannot find the path to your tun.ko if tun support is compiled within your kernel.
What error did you get when trying to connect DroidVPN maybe its not really a problem with tun.

I got the same problem as the poster above with tun.ko installer but ran droidvpn anyway and it said it was connected, tested it by going to your website which was blocked before by my carrier with an age restriction, I'm 31 and on a contract ffs....... lol I don't really need this app as I'm gonna get the restrictions lifted in a couple of days because its getting on my nerves but nice work anyway, its a very good app.

I live in sweden and i recently got a t-mobile galaxy s2. i am trying to usb tether and wifi tether, but when I check the box it get unchecked again, and the wifi tether slider refuses to toggle state to on. I installed kies on windows 7 which can recognize the device as a storage device but i can not use the device as a modem. My guess is that the application on the phone that allow me to tether is some what locked or work with T-mobile and not with providersin sweden and thus I might need to install a custom android Rom from. I looked for solutions over the internet and I could not find much, I even reinstalled android via kies, but that did not help. Please help, what should I do, and if I need to install a rom which is the best one that support viper and other popular applications, because I installed one time xdaandroid on my old HTC, but viper application said that their team does not support custom made Roms. Thanks
This maybe what you need:

I'm in US on Tmobile but they want more money to let you tether so I found this and it works.

He seems to be refering to Wifi Tether Router. It costs 1.95 on the app store but, it's certainly worth it.
No go
Running Tweaked and even switched to stock kernel.
No go.
I'll email the dev and see what they might be able to do, otherwise it didn't work on Tweaked ROM.
It works for me
It works for me! Thanks! I'm on stock deodexed ROM with SaberN3 kernel flashed. (T-Mobile). Been looking and trying everything but only this works so far.
Please use the earlier thread on same topic here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2502965
I'm trying to get linu-deploy working but no matter what I've tried it always fails on ssh startup. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You probably haven't installed busybox first, which installs the CLI apps which are needed for this to work. So try installing busybox from play store and try again.
Hi, Thanks for reply, I did have busybox installed but can't get the SSH service running (or vnc). How do I test to confirm busybox is installed and working correctly?

Have made some progress it works if I change the default ssh port to 10022!
Any one know what I need to reconfigure so that it works on lower ports? I need this to work as I intend setting up a web server which will listen on port 80.
