Does anyone use the power save? I don't use it but average about 7 hours of screen time. I have used it on my note 2 but just curious on anyone using it on this device.

I dont use it since I have the Wifi version so I only ise it at home and there is always a charger around.
I also got around 9 hours or more screen time. But I dont game so much. Mostly I read things like news, maga and browsing
And the main point is that the power saves is for:
1. Limit cpu
2. Limit screen brightness
3. Disable vibration
my reasons:
1. The tab lags already now so I want to use full cpu force
2. Brighter is easier to read
3. I like haptic feedback

I use it when I am not doing heavy stuff. It extends the battery life a bit even when I do not turn down the screen brightness (Need to manually adjust up after clicking powersave). It drops the Quadrant benchmark from 19xxx to about 11xxx and for me I do not see any real lag by doing this and would guess 30% gain in battery depending on what I am doing normally.

I definitely agree with you there. My brightness is at about 20 percent. I'm not a gamer either I'm just a Chrome hogger and I use pulse alot. Just wanted to see if it benefited anyone on this device. Thanks.

I've recently installed setcpu and kinda fiddled around with it too much. Is there a way to go back to default setting? Do I just uninstall and reboot?
I downloaded it at first to see if it can help with some performances in games but not really sure if it can help.
Any recommended settings for playing games? And then settings for normal/easy use of the device?
I'm currently on Telus, rooted device no CWM or other ROM or Kernels (Read setcpu actually doesn't take affect until custom kernel?)
Thanks again!
I use setcpu to under clock my phone to save battery, I also have a profile set up so it uses minimal cpu while the screen is off again to save on battery. Other than that games play amazing on here haven't had any issues. I what issues are you having?

GTA 3 seems to be sluggish and lagging a decent amount. NOVA 3 seems to lag a bit as well, especially online it lags a crap ton (I doubt it's my wireless issue as other games seems to play fine over wifi).
Would you mind sharing one of your profiles for when the screen is off/sleep mode? I read a few threads and thought that is a great idea as some people have a profile from 12am-7am where the cpu is barely running and is near deep sleep mode of some kind.
Sorry to be bothersome but what were the default values for the cpu? I'm not sure what the ondemand and cfq mean. And do I need a custom kernel for setcpu to take affect? On the playstore someone commented that you need a custom kernel
Default is on demand cfq. The profile I have setup is for whenever I turn the screen off min 594, max 702. I've tried setting it lower but I find it makes it sluggish when I wake the phone up. As far as your games lagging I wouldn't be able to help you. Just make sure that power saver is turned off cause that defaults your cpu down to 1ghz max.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
For the main, would it be okay to have max at 1512mhz and min at 384mhz? And would it be safe to have it max 1512mhz and min 1512mhz for games?
Yeah having your cpu running at maximum is fine, and during games having it cranked all the way up is fine too. Only thing to take into consideration is your battery.

My own setcpu settings are

384-1458 below 50%
384-1134 below 30%
384-810 below 15%

Yesterday that put me at 39 hours and 20 minutes from 100% charge to 1% with pretty minimal use.

Hey try a different scaling that that.
I read in a different thread that msm-dcvs was Samsungs stock scaling mode and that it was pretty good.
I tried it out and my phone lagged horribly on home screen videos and keyboard.
I since changed it and everything is running super smooth again
Just thought I'd let you know that's it's not all that's it's cracked up to be..

Hmm, I tried it out out based on feedback in another thread, but I haven't had any lag personally. What would you recommend? I was using Ondemand, and it seems to be roughly the same performance-wise, though it seems like better battery life.

Thats strange, on my setcpu only goes from 384mhz to 1512mhz. How'd you manage to get 1728 O_O
Also I'm not too sure if this is because I downloaded setcpu but for example say I'm on the third page from right/left of the home screen. When I press the homescreen, it doesn't fluently transition to the center screen or is this just me overthinking. I even tried uninstalling setcpu to see if that was the problem but doesn't seem like it helped. Not sure if the transition before was like this but kinda feels weird.
EDIT: If you look at the white dots below the icons, the left/right third screen from the home screen, when the home button is pressed the dot jumps to the middle, I'm sure there was a smooth transition where the dot moved through as the screen flips, but now the page just jumps

the answer there is a custom kernel as well it was over clocked to that speed.
ill post my settings here in a few minutes.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
When I'm not using the internet or playing games, I literally set my max speed to half stock using the OnDemand governor, I always keep WiFi off unless I'm home and keep 3G unless I check my facebook or upload an image, 3G usually reactivates then deactivates itself with MMS I believe, not exactly 100% on that, correct me if you'd like. My stock battery lasts for about 30-35 hours under constant texting plus the way I use my phone. When I play games, I set clock speed back to stock and keep 3G off, whether I overclock or not depends on the game.
The UI loses a little FPS but I'm cool with that, and onscreen keyboard response is a little sluggish but that doesn't bother me either. I might try setting my max clock a little higher and try a different governor. My ROM and Kernel are in my signature.
Never really had to "try"... on stock 2.3.4 I usually get incredible game time/usage time just from keeping auto-brightness on.
I am going pretty minimalist on widgets though; nothing but LP Sense's own widgets and a clock., so that may also contribute.

I keep the bar on maximum brightness, but AFAIK, that setting is ignored by the auto brightness.
And no tweaks. TBQH, only tweaks I know how to do is maxing camera quality and spoofing R800a to be an R800i.
Hello folks,
I came across this app which basically forces your phone into deep sleep mode when not in use( screen off). It turns data, wifi off etc. And wakes phone on in every half hour or other intervals you choose to check email etc. It does not do much when you are using the phone but saves a lot of battery when the phone is not being used.
I am using CM10 alpha 6 and it works great for the time being. I highly recommend it for people having battery issues.
If you want to try go to google play and search for "deep sleep battery saver".
My first impressions are really good.Just wanted to share...

thank you

Apparently there is also free xda version of the app which includes paid options. There is a thread created by the developer on xda but since I am on my phone right now, I cant find the link. But a google search will lead you there.

That is the point. It just wakes every once in a while (30, 45, 60 minutes etc. you define) and get all sorts of notifications etc. There will be delays for notifications. It is a price to pay for a dramatic increase in battery life. If you want to be notified immediately for a facebook, twitter etc., then this is not for you.
Now I can get around 30 hours of battery life easily. Before my battery used to die in about 17 hours or so. So the choice is up to you..

Hi galaxy w owners!
Today i've installed CrossBreeder on my galaxy w, does anyone else have too?
My first impression is good, but no so great. I think there are some little lag on wake-up after screen is off...
Any other comments?

i dont face this problem..

I think is good tweak for galaxy w. And i use it in my wonder.... its very good
What are yours configurations on kernel, governor and clock?
Tried it out and just removed it again. It worked pretty well for the first half hour but after that the phone started lagging excessively. Not just that but apps would freeze and crash. Or not open in the first place.
When downloading apps I generally had to try twice because the first time would either fail or just stop at 10%.
After rebooting the phone (I did this quite a few times hoping it would improve matters) the phone would take 3 times as long to load apps and stuff from my external SD card. It also spontainuesly rebooted right half way through loading the homescreen, I think that happened about 2 - 4 times.
Unlocking the lockscreen took ages, and would sometimes fail with the screen timing out before it finished the unlock process.
When I wasn't experiencing the above problems in my 5 hours of usage, the phone performed almost as good as it did without this mod.
Playing with your performance settings wields far better results.
For example, what settings can I adjust?
And, is there any app, or method, for testing the effect of this mod apart from user feelings?
Inviato dal mio GT-I8150 con Tapatalk 2
Under settings, scroll down to the second to last option, the one with the lightning bolt symbol.
You'll see a pop up warning you.
Here you can play with the setting, I recommend writing down the standard settings you find there before you change anything, also don't check the boxes to save the new settings for after reboot, do this after you're satisfied with the performance you got.
Here is an awesome thread that will help you decided what to use:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1989824
As for your second question, the first post for the CrossBreeder app gives examples of what you can use to determine performance and effect. But I didn't need those to see that it wasn't as good as with my performance settings.
Hi everyone,
Now I know the OG pro has good ram and an amazing processor, and I'm not having any problems with lag or anything. This is more of a thread where I get to see what users have done to their OG pro and/or what apps you have downloaded to improve the phones performance and functionality.
Please post and modifications you have made, apps you use or have used, and how you improved the performance and functionality of the OG pro.
P.S. eventually sometime down the line someone might encounter some performance issues due to some random reason, so by getting this posted started now they will have a thread they can read through in order to improve their phones performance.
THANK YOU!:fingers-crossed:
Since I created the post I figured I would be the first to post a reply.
Currently under the battery setting I have Quad core control turned on in order to optimize my battery saving. This is one option you can turn off in order to IMPROVE PERFORMANCE.
AnTuTu CPU and MEMORY benchmark
Quad core control on Quad core control off
Total: 9786 Total: 10680
RAM: 3161 RAM: 3255
CPU Integer: 2577 CPU Integer: 3367
CPU float: 4048 CPU float: 4058
*I'm not that familiar with AnTuTu but as far as I know the difference in the scores is an increase of 9.1% which is a fairly good gain.
I also use the app named swapps which allows me to switch between apps much faster than having to hold the home button down to get the task menu and switch from there.
I hope this helps!
let's see.

so long that i can't even guess. i'm quite stunned. i'm not running nay 3d games yet but i do a lot of reading on this so the screen is on, i also have the face recognition running, i can see when the screen tries to time out and the fr kicks in and keeps it lit.
the built-in auto screen dim never worked for me, i have jd brightness set to - 20% 45% 150% and it handles outdoors sunlight much better now also.
the phone last all day long with absolutely no worries at all, i would guess it could easily go 2 days with no worries but i've been plugging it in at night, i like to try to stay close to 100%.
