APN Switching bugged - HTC One V

Hello there. Happy new year to everybody, not to my HOV) Just kidding. But I have a question to you.
I have a problem with my APN settings. The thing is, when I have everything set like I did in other ROMs, Internet worked, MMS worked even without need of turning on mobile data, the switching between APNs was automatic. However in this ROM, It seem to be bugged a bit. MMS work only when I DELETE Internet APN and turn on mobile data. When I create Internet APN again, MMS stop to work.
Any ideas how to solve it?

Internet Settings for AT&T?

I am currently using an unlocked Dash flashed with Kavana's latest WM 6.1 rom. As stated in the title I am on the AT&T network. I tried using the connection setup wizard that came with the ROM but got mixed results. I manually entered my previous settings but I am still having issues with my Activesync Exchange Server and MMS messages. Normal web browsing seems to work fine and apps like Google maps work as well.
Can anyone verify the proper settings for the current AT&T Network? I would like to see GPRS, Proxy and MMSC settings. I have seen a lot of older ones that seem to be from Cingular but I can't be sure those will still work.
Thank you in advance for your help.
You seem to be having same trouble i was having
This is what you need to do.
Do the set up network wizard.
Once you have that up. Goto GPRS connection. there a field to where to connect.
For At&T ... choose connect to internet.
for both connection configuration.
I don't have the dash in front of me but i'll post again but in the mean time play with this much knowledge. and i'll try to post up a reply for your question.
Based on previous version i am so happy that there is a connection wizard here i don't have to put in all that crap setting again. all i do is run the wizard and just change the connection settings.
it works all the time.
Thanks for the help. I've messed with it but I still seem to having issues. If you could post what your settings look like I would appreciate it.
I got the Exchange Server to work but I am still having issues with MMS. I get the Error Syncronizing. I've never been able to get them to work since I went to the unlocked Dash.
Weird

Internet not working

hi guys
i have a htc desire on t mobile and twice now my 3g internet has stopped working. the first time t mobile was able to sort this out by putting in a new APN. but 2 days later its gone off again. also i have not been able to send and recieve picture messages even when the 3g has been working. t mobile have tried with the apn for mms but this didnt work. i just tried my sim in another phone and the internet works fine so im led to believe the problem is with the phone. all the setting seem to be turned on and the reception should be fine. i tried turning off the mobile network check in the settings menu then on again. it now reads connection faild. is there any help you could offer me please?
thanks
internet fixed now by resetting the apns to default. still no fix for mms though.

[Q] APNdroid and other APN disabler

Have anyone encountered this problem: I'm using APNdroid on my galaxy s. but whenever I try to turn my APN on. I will get a 3G signal but I wont be able to browse or connect to anything. I check the APN settings, but I think all settings is correct. I tried another program of same functionality, but still the same problem. Have any work around on this?
Are you switching from wifi to 3g? Theres a bug in earlier firmwares that causes connection errors when you switch between the two (at times).
Temporary solution is to reboot phone, or set to airplane mode and back (seems to work for some, didnt work for me).
Permanent solution, have to flash a newer firmware.
I hope that helps... if this is a completely diff thing.. what a waste lols.
Yeah, I usually keep my WiFi on. If I don't have a wifi access that's the I'm switching to APN. Tried the flight mode on/off, still the same thing.
This is such an inconvenience. Hope Samsung will fix this problem on the next firmware release. It's not good for a flagship phone to have this basic problem.
Thanks.
I don't think that is a FW issue it sounds more like a program issue.
You can try to create a APN with fake settings, so you can select that one when you don't want that your phone use internet.
Install HiAPN from the market, create a fake APN with anything for apn name, then on your homescreen, add the "Rotator Only" widget of HiAPN.. You can now touch the widget to toggle between your actual APN and the fake APN.. Works every time, does not stall after sometime like APNdroid etc..

This seems to be a good idea. Will try it later. THANKS!

[Q] Galaxy Nexus loses data after received MMS...

After a few weeks from the original post, I'm still having problems with data connection. In the meantime, I have completely wiped my phone and reinstalled stock Jelly Bean from Google. But the problem remains. But I noticed that, when I receive an MMS and my signal bars become grayed out without moving arrows, I can still receive and send MMS. Isn't data connection necessary for that? I can't do anything else that requires it, though.
Do you think that the problem may be with APN settings? I have set everything like my carrier provided.
Any idea? I really don't want to root my phone in order to fix this. But I guess only that will help?
Quick recap: Nexus 4.1.1 JB, loses data connection after receved MMS, can still send/receive MMS but nothing else. Phone restart required in order to fix the problem.
Just bumping this tread if somebody maybe knows anything about my problem.
Here's my theory:
Since the MMS and data APN are separate, when you sent a MMS, the APN switches from mobile data to MMS, therefore you lose your data connection.

Thank you! That's seems like a logical explanation. But, since I'm not yet experienced on this area, do you have any idea how can I solve this issue?
Try merging both APNs, pull the MMSC and port to your data APN, then add mms to the apn type.

Amazing, it seems like this worked. I tried to send and receive a few MMS and it didn't affect connection in any way. I'll keep my eye on it some more. But, a big thank you for now! This will make my daily Nexus experience so much better!

T Mobile IPv6 APN Outage?

Suddenly my mobile data doesn't work on T Mobile's IPv6 APN. Works fine on IPv4.
I get the same results on all ROMs I've tried. I flashed a couple 4.3 and 4.4 ROMS and got the same results with a clean install and no added apps or settings.
My wife's phone connects with ipv6 just fine on the same network.
This is on the MDL baseband using any rom, aosp or tw.
The only thing I haven't tried is restoring to stock with Odin, but I really don't want to do that just to test to see if it's a network issue. I can't imagine is a hardware ware problem since the cell network is fine and data works fine on the IPv4 APN. If it was hardward, those shouldn't work.

I'm still getting the 'automatic' APN change on my phone, on CM11 and Carbon 4.4 - but I did notice that every once in a while I'll stop receiving data, and have to switch APNs. Once I do, and put it back to the IPv6, it starts working.
What I see could definitely be a ROM issue, though. Could also be a location-based issue? (I'm around the DC area, and get fantastic speeds on LTE, and horrible speeds on Edge.)

I could deffinately be location based. But I'm not leaving this general area anytime soon so I can't test that theory.
It's not a speed issue for me. The data works, just only on the IPv4 APN. It will not work on the IPv6 APN aat all.
I checked the APN settings. They are good. I even just switched the IPv4 to 6 in the working APN and that kills it, but comes right back when I switch it back to 4.
This came out of nowhere.
I'd been using the IPv6 APN for months.
And it's not ROM based. A fresh install of any other ROM has the same results.
Weirdness.
Just curious, why are you so set on using IPv6? The only upside to it is having a unique IP address once IPv4 addresses are exhausted - which they aren't just yet. If it avoids the issue, why not stick with IPv4?

Because that's not the only advantage.
I like to keep my mobile data turned off until I need it. This prevents a few different issues for me.
However, MMS messages require a data connection. The ROM is capable of turning data on to send and receive an MMS message automatically, but on certain ROMs it doesn't work properly on the IPv4 APN. It needs the IPv6 APN to work. On IPv4 it will turn data on but it won't connect properly and the message will hang indefinitely in an in downloaded state.
IPv4 works fine for MMS if the data is already turned on when the message comes in. But it doesn't work on auto data. I have no idea why. I don't really care why. I just know I need the IPv6 mobile network to be able to keep my data turned off and still get MMS messages.
