Before you jump to conclusions.
1. I have been rooting for a long time, I am not new to this.
2. I have searched the forum and all the info I found including mkskips way to root using galaxy toolkit is outdated. Infact I downloaded GTK from skip's site and it doesnt even list 4.1.2 MC2 version on it. It lists MA7.
3. I looked up kingo app but it doesnt mention sprint note 2.
So lets cut to the chase and please let me know what/how are you guys rooting nowadays?
+1

Thanks I saw that but that doestn seem to install custom recovery like twrp or cwm. Earlier methods like one click root/ mkskips toolkit, all used to do it without needing odin. IF nothing else exists, I am fine trying the chainfire method.
The kingo app works I've used it 3 times now

on its website it doesnt say its supported..but good to know. i ended up using auto-root by chainfire.
confused
What are links to help me root my phone sorry I'm new at this. Gn2 sprint on 4.3?
I'm still using mkskips toolkit to root my Note 2. Was on MC2 a few days ago and rooted it just fine using the MA7 option which I believe is #92. Did it succesfully 2 times so I know for a fact that it works. Im back on MA7 now but its great to know I can continue using the toolkit if I ever go back to MC2.

For root you need to flash: http://download.chainfire.eu/264/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-t03g-t03gxx-gtn7100.zip via ODIN. This tutorial may help you: http://androidjinn.com/root-galaxy-note-2-n7100-zcalk5.html
Next you need to install CWM Recovery (or any other custom recovery). To install CWM recovery first instal ROM Manager from play store then tap on Flash ClockworkMod Recovery.
There are many ROM out there. Try something stable. All ROM comes with general installation guide just follow that.
Appreciated

Yes! It's safe to use the root file. That is a standard rooting file for Note 2 for any Android 4.1.1 Jelly Bean version.
Thanks chief. Will root it then. IA
One more question, if we root it then what will happen the already installed JB. Will it remain in working condition or is it mandatory to install cooked rom right away?

Everything will be just normal. You don't require to install any custom ROM. Your smartphone will be in Jelly Bean. You can now install apps that require root permission such as Titanium Backup .

No, you need to flash this one: http://download.chainfire.eu/255/CF-Root/CF-Auto-Root/CF-Auto-Root-t0lte-t0ltexx-gtn7105.zip You can try this guide: http://androidjinn.com/root-galaxy-note-2-n7105-on-xxdll1-android-4-1-2-official-firmware.html The firmware may be different than what you have but it will work. Don't worry.

Yes your phone is still secure for banking apps, I use CIBC app all the time without any worry. You will not be able to apply auto updates if you root but you can always get the updates on XDA and apply them yourself. I haven't used a stock ROM or Kernel since I bought my first Galaxy S 3 years ago. Besides, if you get the updates from XDA, you will have them about 5-6 months before the auto update program sends them out.

Ugh I have been contemplating rooting for a couple of days and I am still on the fence about it. I don't know what about it that makes me so nervous to do it. I keep thinking that it makes my phone less secure, even though I know that I just need to pay attention to what I give root access to.

Thanks for answering, didn't use it because read some posts where people said they bricked their device while using it.

Has anyone found a way to root 4.3.3 for the AT&T Galaxy S3? I see there is a way for the Verizon model but can't find anything for AT&T...

CF-Auto-Root worked for me.
Do you have any warranty on your phone? If you do, rooting may trip the knox counter and void the warranty.

Cf-autoroot will root your phone but Knox will disable the installing of supersu. So just download it from market and open it. This will prompt you to disable Knox and then you will be rooted

If you bought an att note 8, the model number is actually i467.
There is a method to root our device, but since it has a locked boot loader we do not have the ability to install a custom recovery or flash custom Roms yet...

Yeah, there is no ROMs available but you do have the option for 4.3.x or 4.4.x when AT&T decides to update.
I have no issues with AT&T 4.1.2 once I safe rooted.
Had purchased new in March, and is the best $220 for a unlocked US tablet I ever spent.
Pretty much the same setup as what I have on my Note 8.0 WIFI only.
