Trying to root so I can install a debloated ROM but I don't know which model this is. I know its gt-n51xx what's the last two digits?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
If you bought an att note 8, the model number is actually i467.
There is a method to root our device, but since it has a locked boot loader we do not have the ability to install a custom recovery or flash custom Roms yet...
Hopefully someone smarter than me can figure that out...

I used SafeRoot to root mine. I followed the method in the [ROOT] Saferoot: Root for VRUEMJ7, MK2, and Android 4.3 thread including the Tomsgt YouTube video instructions and had no problems.
sgh-i467 ROM?

I was able to root mine, using saferoot, very easy. but i cannot find any ROM's. did you find any, please let me know. thanks,
Yeah, there is no ROMs available but you do have the option for 4.3.x or 4.4.x when AT&T decides to update.
I have no issues with AT&T 4.1.2 once I safe rooted.
Had purchased new in March, and is the best $220 for a unlocked US tablet I ever spent.
Pretty much the same setup as what I have on my Note 8.0 WIFI only.

Use SafeRoot. Easiest safest way possible. 10 seconds to Root. Done. Search the forum. There are a few straight forward easy guides to get the job done.

Hey guys I just placed my order for my Verizon HTC One and I was wondering if there are any developers out there working on a pacman ROM for this device? Or if the other variants can be used for this one

Are you planning on sending it out right away to be s-off'd since there currently is no unlock option ?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I'm not really sure what s-off'd means.... But regardless I run that ROM on all of my devices it's the only aosp ROM I use ...... And I'll do almost anything to have it running on my phones

s-off in laymans terms basically means super-unlock. Right now the only way to unlock the Verizon htc one is with a java card, because the htc dev unlock was blocked day 1. No unlock = no root = not custom rom =
But keep your hopes up that an exploit will be found soon.
most likely I'll go with s-off I'm sure a developer will find a way soon

If you don't know what s-off is then you probably don't need it. Unlock should be fine for the average Rom changing user. He asked about s-off because right now you can send your phone and money to a person who will s-off it.
is there any ROM with kitkat yet? i see posts about a leaked mexico/canadian version but no confirmation of the tom version... i don't care for root, as i only want for Google Wallet. thanks guy!
T-Mobile has not even done 1 update on the Note 3 so I wouldn't get my hopes up of seeing it anytime soon. I rooted and moved on to updating myself
Official CM11 & ZeroLemon Powered SM-N900T
T-Mo & KitKat
Yes, I'm new to T-mobile.... I hope they release updates in at fast pace!
im not asking about tmobile releasing update. I'm asking if the existing leaks of 4.4.2 will work on the tmo note 3
No not as of now.. Someone is testing a method at the moment and if it works I'll post back here.

Any update on 4.4.2 on the T Mobile version of the note 3
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk 2
The leaks of 4.4.2 for other note 3 variants have a few things that won't run on our T-Mobile version, specifically bootloader and kernel. Devs are working to find a way and I'm sure once there is any progress made it would be posted all over here and on the android blogs.

I do not know how you got that running without serious f/c. I have tried every kernel known or out...and I have not got this to run yet on the N900T, I have built several versions of all the bases available, and all of the issues point to an incompatible kernel, period.
If you could PM me this custom-03 kernel you have, although I may have tried already, I sure would appreciate it....
This is not making any sense....

Hello! I am interested in only rooting phone, so I can move some apps on my sd card, but NOT flash any kernels or custom roms. Is that possible?
I found this online,
http://www.s4miniarchive.com/2014/01/safely-root-galaxy-s4-mini-without-tripping-knox-flag.html?m=1
But before i try it i want to ask u guys if it is OK, and what is the safest way to just root.

You will need to wait a full day or two to get replies. Best is to do nothing until you have at least two rep[lies as the first may be well intentioned but may not be the best.
I have a S3 I747 4.3 and have never rooted before. Can anyone help me to root with a Mac. It relay frustrating trying to find a method for a Mac. I tried motochopper but it didn't work

Instead of using pc toolls..use android tools like ONE CLICK ROOt Or FARMAROOT
Sent from my GT-S7562 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Do you have any warranty left on your phone? If you do, rooting may trip the Knox counter and void the warranty.
I'm not worried about the warranty I just want my phone to be better
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Rooting will certainly allow you to remove bloatware and the like.
Do you have VMWare on your mac? If you do, you may be able to follow one of the 4.3 rooting guides that requires a PC.
No I don't have amything. So I need a step be step that can be used on a Mac.

As a side note, rooting will not automatically make your phone better.
If you have access to a PC, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2538991
My main reason to root it the battery, bloat ware, and free tether. Sadly I only have a Mac and its like pulling teeth trying to find a way to root for 4.3 on a dang mac . Looks like I may have to find a Buddy with a pc

I rooted my device using Odin and the rootm919 file. My device is Tmobile Samsung Galaxy S4 SGH-M919. I need the tmobile galaxy s4 Android version 4.2.2 stock firmware link. All the other links I saw of it did not work.
I'd get it from sammobile:

Thanks for replying. However, I looked at that site and did not see the one I need. (Samsung Galaxy S4 Android Version 4.2.2) Hopefully I did not look correctly.... Oh wait I think I found it on that site! But its 1.6 GB and will take a long time to download. Thanks though I believe my problem is solved..? I'm not sure till it finishes downloading

With mobile Odin you might be able to. Depends on whether it's compatible with the android version you have on your phone, now.

Thansk but that page raises a question my version isn't the same as teh firmware listed on there mines different its eth one that has fb4 in it, so if I install the one listed can I actually get a rooted unlocked phone or a door stop?
I DID end up downloading eth firmware that was listed for my phone, but all that'll do is get me unrooted and back where I started at if nothing works right

OK all you have to do if you're on official nb4 is flash the stock 1 in Odin then root again and use triangle away to reset your binary counter then delete root files.
