Xperia SL Official Thread (under development)

Even though there is not much difference than the bumped up processor between Xperia S and SL, I felt the lack of my brand new Xperia SL thread in XDA. So I just started this for my and other proud Xperia SL user's satisfaction.

Is the clear band at the bottom going to be used for notifications?
Yes it is. But unlike Xperia U Sony used white LEDs this time to make it classy but not funky!
Hardware Mods are there to change colours though.
What's this about the battery?
Well for one it is indeed not removable
Removing the battery is pretty trivial as demonstrated in this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4lHsf...layer_embedded
On the good side though it is supposed to have a new 'fast charge' technology that charges the phone rapidly to 80% and then basically tricle charges it from that point, so if you need a quick boost you're in luck
Micro SIM?
I'm afraid so

You can also pick up some pretty cheap devices (which look a bit like a hole-punch / stapler) from ebay that will cut it for you, if scissors scare you for some reason.

Yes - and uses smart-tags so you can automatically setup a profile for home, work etc just by tapping your phone against a tag.
Does it have FM radio?
Yes! It has FM radio with RDS
Here are few tricks at a glance:

To reboot your phone (because you can't remove the battery) press and hold at same time the power and volume up keys till it reboot.
SCREENSHOT: Holding down the power button now brings you a different menu compared to Android 2.3.7. Most users will probably notice that the ‘Take screenshot’ option has disappeared. Android ICS now allows you to take screenshots by holding down the power button and volume down button at the same time.
SAFE MODE: - even if I have no clue how to use it, any help?
1- Power off the phone
2- Turn it back on then right after hold the menu, and release when you feel the 2nd vibration
3- If you see SAFE MODE on down left of the screen, you did it
4- To leave SAFE MODE just reboot the phone.

Can you find stock 6.1.A.2.55 rom for SL? Someone in 4rum confirm that's real. But i can't find any infomation. Mine just 6.1.A.2.45. I have another rom 6.1.A.2.50, but seem different, cause singnal weak

Nope. Sony Update Service says the .45 is the latest for the SL

Hello, I have bought an Xperia SL, and i have lots of questions to ask. Im pretty confused to some thread/post i read somewhere, but still it remains question, and also i have posted this in Q&A Thread, but no one answered yet so il just post this again.
So here are my questions about this handset.
- Does it support Fast Charging capability using the quick charger? I read that newer versions of XS without the yellowtinting, the feature was removed, so how about SL?
- Does the Anti Stain Shell still a Feature of Xperia SL?
- Does Xperia SL have Bluetooth 3.0 or 2.1? My MW600 does have a sec delay when playing games, but what could be the cause of these delay?
- Is WIFI DIRECT is still a feature of Xperia S or SL? I read that feature is questionable or not existing but sony have advertised this feature for XS
- Yellow Tint and CPU Throttling underclocked cpu when over heating?
- Change logs for Update .50 or .55, is it really released? Im still using .45, and update is not yet available here.

- So far so good here no yellow tint on my SL and yes,CPU onderclocks itself when heating up to prevent overheating
(It decreases to 800 MHz,but you can always use apps like SetCPU to set it back to normal)
- Yep,the .45 firmware is the latest for our SL it seems,but you can always use the Xperia S' firmwares with no problem
(I've tried it myself,but make sure to do a backup first )

I have used S firmware on SL. Doesnt underclock.

how to root xperia SL
I tried "Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v18" but was unable to root my phone

i got some XSL stock rom the .45 one

check it with root checker apps see if you got ROOT or what.

I tried charging 0~100%, it takes 2hrs and 35mins using EP800, if i would use EP851, how long will it take to charge a phone from 0~80% and 0~100%, i do know that Fast Charging is only upto 80%

YES the SL supports fast charging,I'm using the fast charger at the moment at it charges much more quickly :good:

Maybe you didn't use it long enough or not using CPU hungry apps. Try playing some HD games and you'll see it will onderclock

Yes the fast charging is only up to 80% (or 90%?) so it's safer for the battery. But,according to this post,you may need to think twice for fast charging

no root access
I forget to tell you b4 my phone doesn't restart after running.........
Good it worked......
but when i dis-attached my phone it did but no super user app found on my phone
plz help me to root my phone..........

what rom you running on ? mine work on .45

Notification LED

Greetings to you all. I am new to the ZL after my S3.
I realy love the ZL but I cannot get the notification LED to work. It only functions when the phone is charging or indicates that the battery is full.
I already tried the fix from the Z with disabling the auto backup and so on but it still does not work. Stamina mode is off too.
Any suggestions on that issue?

Does it work for you when you browse Gallery photos or Music tracks?
Try "LED Tester" from Market to see if it works.
Note that you need screen off for notifications to work.

Makes the notifications work again but apps like light flow dont work. I really dont get it but I would have to live with it right now.

i did it on my ZL and it fixed my LED.

Tried it did not work. The LED works fine with the app enabled.

flash different version like c6506 c6503 or c6502 can fix that

In the meantime , I had a lot of problems after buying this phone . , I was satisfied that I had previously xperia neo software development Afzaray her time voters had a lot to offer . , But now I 'm on the phone troubles
1 : Can I transfer files from a memory card to program management . Means there's no such option !
2 : After the battery is charged to 99 % and should like to go once I got too damn Vja 100 %
3 : After turning off the screen , for example, the software behind the scenes insight when I switched back to the face plate , the power button does not turn the screen on for approximately 10 seconds to re- light when the picture
The noise was very high and the camera in the room light
Do you have this problem ?

which firmware are you using?

model:C2005
Sony did not officially updated software. Between the error occurs
And another problem is that the usb debugging option in settings does not exist and I do not know if it will even download the flash tools to do the job?
C 2004 & C 2005 are the same? Have the software CD in 2004 I got fired, or stay up thirty ftf files come in 2005?

Read forums they are same phone model number c2004 and c2005 are country specific models but are the same phone

There may also be a xposssed module to get this job done but TASKER will certainly get get the job done.

The extreme power saver option on stock ROMs will do this too. Though it is a small hassle to get in & out of this mode it is good for battery and data saving.

Automateit works great and is easy to set up

Automateit doesn't seem to be able to do this. Might be because it's not rooted. Might be user error. :')

[ROM] What features you guys want in a new ROM?

- I have a Moto Z2 Play
- I don't/didn't like any of the other ROMS available for this phone (not a lot to begin with)
- I am a CS student with a lot of free time
Long story short: I'm making a ROM based off LineageOS for the Moto Z2 Play with exactly what I want in it
My question to you guys:
I've been scouring this forum a lot lately, and I saw a lot of you have the Z2 Play, which is a great phone, and you all want a larger selection of ROMs to choose from.
So if anyone still has the Moto Z2 Play and want to see some features you like in an operating system, let me know in the comments.
The features I have included so far:
New boot animation (similar to the Google Pixel)
Changed fonts system-wide (Google Sans)
A larger selection of wallpapers (got some from Cyanogenmod 13 repos)
Android Pie style quick settings
Colored icons for the settings menu (resembles this: https://9to5google.com/2019/02/19/razer-phone-2-android-pie/razer_phone_2_android_pie_1-2/)
Navigation Gestures (comes installed with XDA Navigation Gestures)
Most likely will release a prototype version before 2020

A good battery life and an audio optimization, something like viper or dolby, included in the rom.

Id say the Moto mods included. There was support for them, just has to be merged.

If you add Moto mods support it breaks a lot of other things , that's why the previous developer stopped adding support to it.

Just a good stable Rom with basic customisation options and a good kernel

Pie base is a must, since otherwise it wouldn't be much of a benefit.
But what I'd miss most is actually Moto display. Reading and replying to notifications without turning on more pixels than necessary is just a nice feature. Even though Moto features are always lacking some finish. Like night display with too little effect or no brightness adaption of Moto display or too little gestures for the one button navigation...

Elemental x kernal and long battery backup with deep sleep optimization and game mode which stops the notification and enhance performance without overclocking the CPU.

The latter is something that can't be achieved, sadly. The camera drivers aren't made to allow to use the Camera2 API. But that's what GCam is made for. Do unless you can get better drivers it won't be possible to get much out of the GCam
