I'm looking for a car mount that will fit the LG WCP-300 wireless charger, I found only posts about the Smart Fit2, but it's not available anywhere and I don't even know who's the manufacturer of it (it looks like a no-brand made in china product).
Do you know on any alternative that will work good with the wcp charger?
Many thanks!
It was made by LG. If anybody does have an elegant suggestion, please let me know. I bought 1 to see how I'd like it and when I went to buy #2, they were gone. :crying:

It was not made by lg, it was just some random accessory that caught fire.
To the op, your best bet is to find a mount with a flat surface that you can affix the charger to. At the suggestion of someone in the car mount thread I just picked up this one to use with the nexus charger, but this should work for you too. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00178RDZ4/ref=oh_details_o07_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
@kellybrf, Never realized it wasn't made by them. Came in an LG box and everything. So much work on their part to make it look legit. I didn't care who made it. Anyway, got a picture of that setup? That link you provided just looks like the same old suctioncup section has have been around forever. Anything I'd do would look like I just slapped a charger to a generic car mount.

Look a few pages back in the car mount thread, someone posted his setup with the nexus charger. Don't know if you've seen the new air dock on indigogo, I hadn't actually put my setup together yet so I opted for that instead

Hi all,
I've been reading a lot of threads about wireless charging and one of the most frequently asked questions is:
"Does this work with my [insert case here]?".

So I thought it would be a good idea to make a thread where everybody can check if their cases are compatible before they actually buy the kit.
The 'set-up' I'll use for the testing will be this one; this backcover and this touchstone.
(Please note that I'm not affiliated with any of those products nor sellers. I'm just a guy that's trying to help his fellow S3-owners out before they buy the kit/mod. Those products also were the cheapest ones I could find on eBay as of 27th november.)
I will divide this into 2 sections; the QI wireless charging and the Touchstone wireless charging (mod).
I've ordered a couple of cases to test out and I will report back later. Also, I'll probably give these cases away afterwards anyways.
In the meantime it would be great if people could add cases that are compatible and if they use the QI or the Touchstone wireless charger.
QI wireless charging compatible cases:
-Otterbox Defender
-Otterbox Commuter
-Otterbox Prefix
-Spigen SGP Neo Hybrid
-(some) TPU/Plastic cases
Touchstone wireless charging compatible cases:
.
I've added a section like that on the stickied qi thread as well [last night]. (in my post that is).
Specifically for the Qi ones. Afaik, members who have the otterbox commuter & defender are able to charge w/ the Qi charger.
I have a hybrid tpu/plastic case that also works with the qi kit.

Alright, thanks for your input. Do you want me to delete the QI piece? So there are no double posts and whatnot.
I don't really care. I think it's fine to have a place to double check.
i just manage to put the Touchstone wireless charger from palm into the galaxy s3 battery cover, ordering some case on amazon, will report back.
Since this thread is about Qi & Wireless charging tech.
Why not link to where we can get a battery back with the capability to wireless charge our phones? just a thought.
I've brain stormed ideas including ways to add a wireless charging station to a car/truck but I have yet to get a wireless/Qi battery door to make it even possible to start doing such experiments.
I had heard Samsung announced a wireless charging kit for the S3 but apparently never released it. (hopefully they show it off this week at CES for release alongside the new Extended battery coming this month)
check my 2nd post in the sticked thread for different options. That was all I was able to gather before it got close due to some members who blatantly abused the thread for their personal gains.

Are the Qi backs compatible with the Nokia wireless pads? I read some threads on here that some users are using them but wasn't sure if that was entirely true and if it worked or not.
they work. It's a qi reciever so any transmitter will work. (i have the yijieneng one and tested it out on the nokia pad and the speaker/charger pad combo at the AT&T store and it charges just fine.

Received my cover a while back. Also ordered 2 touchstones and *about* 20 different types of cases from different locations.
Was on holiday and didn't manage to get home yet but tonight I'll try everything out.

Alright, will add this in the OP.
FYI, I bought this backcover and 2 of these touchstones (note: doesn't come with a cable or anything; just the touchstone).
Also, haven't had a chance to try the combo out -yet. See previous reply.
Yeah, they announced it but haven't released anything yet. Frankly, I don't even know if they'll ever release it. Maybe it was just for the hype of it.
After all, they were 'one of the first' that would incorporate this in a device so widely sold.
I have the Zens white backcover with the Zens charging pad. It works but the cover is too thick for use with my case (which i want to keep) + it's white (Black S3).
I was wondering if anyone has experience with dismantling the tech in the zens cover and 'mounting' it in the standard samsung cover. Any feedback is welcome before i rip it apart
I got this touchstone back;
http://item.mobileweb.ebay.com/viewitem?itemId=170950767865
The magnet is terrible, it can barely stay on the touchstone without a case on it, and let alone with a case.
I have a touchstone on my dash in my car and even when driving slow in a straight line with no case on, the phone won't stay on the touchstone.
This Sucks because I bought sygic gps and was hoping this could replace my windshield mounted deactivated HTC touch pro 2 with igo8 finally.
Has anyone got one with an acceptable strength magnet?

cheapest I've found yet. $17.28 shipped for the receiver, I think $50 for the kit. free shipping. (same pad as every other overseas site, just way cheaper and verisign secure/certificate matches)
Hello,
Can someone confirm the measures on the new Nexus Wireless Charger. The information I have says 60 mm X 60 mm X 12.5 mm.
If thats true, it shouldn't be too hard to fit it inside this:
*Edit* Cant post links as a new member. Its the Brodit/ProClip for Nexus 5. */Edit*
Since I already have ProClip in my car, i figure it Could be an easy mod to get wireless charging in the car.
Anyone sees any difficulties?

I don't have mine with me, since it's in my car, but that sounds right. It's perfectly square and my N5 hangs over by several mm on each side, so width-wise, it should fit no problem. However, 12mm is an awful lot depth-wise. I know there's a gap with that mount, but some of that is due to the curve of the mount. Is there really 12+mm of gap? If so, then it should be fairly easy. You'd probably need to use some sort of adhesive, such as double-sided tape though, because those magnets on that charger are hella strong, and the charger is likely to come out when you remove the phone otherwise.
I use this charger in my car too, but it's just setting in the center console, so it's not mounted per se. Having the phone tucked away in the console (not visible) was fine for my purposes.
Thanks!
I got the technical drawing from Brodit, the gap is 65mm x 9.5mm. So I have to sand it down a little, but the cradle is going to be semi - permanent so I'll probably fix the charger and use Bondo to achieve a nice finish.

How did you get on with this? I'm looking at taking a similar approach so I'm curious as to whether it worked for you.

Hello,
I'm still in Thailand on vacation so nothing has happened yet, but I'm back at home soon.
But, since I posted this I figured : what's the difference between having a mount with a fixed Qi - charger instead of just buying the Brodit Active charger? You still have to have the cable all the way. And the way the Brodit Active charger mount works you just slide your phone in and it's charging.
Do you see any real advantages to having the Qi - mount solution?

Simplicity - the same reason I liked pogo-plug charging and use a Qi desk charger. I don't have to faff about fitting the phone into the charger - just drop it into place and it charges.

I received the Brodit now, and should receive the wireless charger soon. I have too much office work to do at the moment, so this will be a slow project (AS if you haven't noticed).
Did you come up with any ideas of a wireless easy-to-use solution?
OK, after getting my One for Xmas and a little extra coin to spend, I am going to attempt to add on wireless charging.
Due to the nature of my work, I need a case to be on the phone. I destroyed two Thunderbolts before I finally corrected my rectal-cranial inversion and put it in a case. So I ordered up a UAG case for my One. After some research, I stumbled upon a little gem on ebay, a QI charging receiver with a microUSB connector. I figured for $8.50, why not? I will not be putting the pad inside of the battery door, but between the phone and the case. I also ordered up a no-name QI charging pad.
I will update the thread when everything comes in and let you know how well (or poorly) the whole scheme works. I know I am losing my ability to plug into the USB port, but I can use a Samba app to transfer files if need be. Also of note, I don't use NFC, so I will never know whether it affects NFC's ability to read.
If anybody has any questions or feedback, please let me know. What I'm hoping to do with this little project is add some functionality to an already amazing device without causing any cosmetic harm or irreversible alterations to a sexy design I will hate to hide in a case.
there is already a thread on Qi charging

Whoops, I must have missed your post. Guess I'm not as innovative as I had previously thought.
Hello all. A friend of mine developed this new car dock for the Note 3, Galaxy S3, and Galaxy S4. I was lucky enough to get an advanced copy for my GS3 and found it to be the best dock I have ever used. I purchased one for my Note 3 and I did an unboxing. Please give it a look. Thanks

Nice. I want a wireless option. That doesn't look bad at all. Thanks for the heads up man

Sorry but the thread title is misleading. This isnt wireless charging, Looks like there are two pins on the docks that link to the case. As the case seems to use the wireless charging points on the phone it would mean I couldnt use the QI receiver Ive added. There's no mention of wireless changing on the actual site .
Also dont like the window mount as its way too short. I woudlnt be able to reach the phone or it would have to be stuck at the top of the windscreen. Never found a vent mount that doesnt sag yet either.
Think Ill stick to the Brodit mount, an adapter plate and a generic QI charger from amazon.

If you want a real wireless charging car mount that is qi, then these would be your best bets: http://smile.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb...as=aps&field-keywords=wireless charging mount
seems to have a lot of good reviews for most of them.
sure.. there are plenty of new wireless charging docks on kickstarter... if you want to wait however long it takes for the kickstarter to end + the time it takes to ship it as opposed to getting it by next week.........
Guys
After having the watch for a while
Any compatible charger recommend?
Not over heat? Works as the original?
Apprieciate your answers
Thx
So, I was able to just toss it on one of my Qi compatible chargers I had and it seemed fine, I didn't notice any overheating or anything, I'm pretty sure all the Qi chargers charge at about the same power level.
Well you're wrong there are qi chargers which are not compatible you need to read some posts about
Please reply after usage only,

It is possible that some of them don't work, I didn't try all of them... I can always post what worked for me, I'll have to look it up, got it a long time ago through ebay since I used it for my nexus 5.
That said, the 'approved' chargers aren't really that expensive anyway and can be purchased from any best buy.
Ok so what charger you used? Not expensive??? 40$?

The one I have is a no-name brand one I got back in June 2013.. This one looks like it:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Qi-Wireless...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item2a44915bdb
I also noticed though, if you feel more comfortable with a product that they advertise works with moto 360 (again, I'm not sure why one wouldn't and I hadn't heard of certain ones not working), if you search ebay for 'moto 360 qi charger', you'll get a number of chargers in the $20 range, like this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Qi-Wireless...l_Phone_PDA_Chargers&var=&hash=item3398079e15
I can say that the Nokia D900 and the Choe Wireless one from Amazon work just fine.
Just get this. Works great.
