Hey guys just wondering how your power button feels to see if my defective or something. Mines a bit less clicky/stiffer than the volume buttons and it's a little more recessed. Feels like it might stick later on in its lifetime. It's completely functional though. A quick answer would be appreciated! Thanks!

In other words, I just want to know if this is normal or if I should exchange it.
UPDATE: It was not normal. I exchanged it anyways and the new tablet had a very clicky power button.
problem solved!!! good job!

I use TP2 for months now and find the buttons are somewhat hard to press especially the End Call/Home button, it has bad tactile among 4 buttons.
Maybe mine has button issue...
How is yours?
glad to find that am not the only one with this problem!
first i thought it got stuck cuz i pressed on it too hard, but now i guess its a failure in the design..
still searching for the perfect lock app so i don't have to feel this weird tactile every time i lock my device -.-

Odd, I don't feel anything weird with my home/end button. Perhaps it's an isolated problem specific to particular batches. Anyway, check out the following link for a lock app which is pretty good.

I agree. While the buttons do work, they lack the tactile feedback I would expect from a physical button. They don't have enough of a "click".
I feel the same sensation of hardeness, but it doesn't really bother me.
Just a question of feeling, nothing more
Quite a relief to know that mine is not faulty (just yet).
Thanks for sharing
I have the same issue + as for me this keyboard not as comfy as it was at my herald, it's seems a little BIG with LONG distance between buttons. but anyway it's very good keyabord
Anyone here feel that the power button should be a bit less flush with the bezel (like the volume rocker). I'm having a hard time getting accustomed to it as I cannot feel for it as well. I know that once my Slim Case arrives, it should help with this as I'll be able to feel the cutout from it. However, I'm trying to decide whether I should exchange it while I'm in the 14-day window. What do you guys think?
I tried calling Sprint and having it exchanged over the phone, but they're making me go to a local store and have it noted as defective before they do it. I don't want to seem paranoid to the Sprint rep when I bring it in and complain about this. =/
Heck no. The only minor complain I have with my SGS3 is that I occasionally hit the volume rocker or power button by accident when holding the phone. I would prefer if they were recessed a bit or, at best, flush with the surface.
Want to exchange devices then?!
I thought mine had a defect because the power button is hard to press sometimes. lol!
Glad it's not just me.

Totally agree. Sometimes ill feel my phone vibrate while I'm holding it thinking I have a text or something when in actuality I unknowingly held the volume down. I'm hoping once I get my thin case this won't be an issue.

I have a phone OCD lol. WHen I first got mine it was kind of sqeeky but now its not. The one at the store feels normal
Lock button? You mean the power button, right?
Yeah... the power button is real squeaky... Feels like its just kept there and not fixed properly at all.. Its not at all a good thing for a phone of this status....
For me, all the buttons feel a bit... sub-standard. They feel slightly tacky to me
Hey guys,
I'm just wondering if the power button on the left is the same height/resistant to your volume button.
I'm not sure if it is meant to be like this or a spring has slipped. But on my power button it seems to lye almost flat with the side of the device. It also jiggles up and down a bit like a seesaw when you run your finger over it.
Another way to describe it is if you run your finger over both sides so they feel the same height? As for me the volume button definitely feels further out/ strong/ less flimsy?
Thanks just for my piece of mind should others be like this!
Many thanks Jack,

If your power button doesn't come out of your find7, it's not normal, mine is out the same height as the volume one. And it isn't less strong than the volume button :/
But mine are a little bit lose to, they jiggle like you explained ! I think that's pretty normal
Hope for you that your find 7 is not broken !

Okay wow, that sucks, I guess I'm not going to return it just yet as I don't actually have a phone as I just sent my old one away , I'm also going to assume the turn around for this sort of thing would take for ever and then there is the reinstalling of apps and argh so much effort!
Hello all. 3 days ago, i got an Nexus 5x to replace my 5. I love the phone, and for the price I think I've made the right choice. The only thing that is bothering me is that somethimes, my Power/Volume buttons are weak/mushy and I only can say that I clicked them because the screen turns on/off or the volume changes.
My question is if this behaviour is normal, or my equipment is with some kind of problem. How is yours?
Thanks!!

I've had access to a few Nexus 5x. Some have mushy buttons, some don't. My current one has pretty good tactile click feedback. I found the power button has more incidents of being mushy than the volume +/-. I think in most cases it doesn't really make a difference and if you use the fingerprint scanner to turn on, it cuts down in half the number of uses the power button gets.

So, in your opinion, it's not worthing send my nexus to RMA? If there is a high chance of the new one also have the mushy buttons, I would prefer staying with this. At least the only bad aspect of this nexus is the buttons (which are working just fine now)

I obviously don't have long term experience with the 5x buttons, but on the Nexus 7 2013 they also had some units with mushy buttons (as well as some with good tactile feedback). Despite thinking the mushy buttons would not be as good for longevity, they still work fine.
I can't say for sure in your case, but I probably wouldn't bother replacing unless you have some other problem you also wanted to address.
Then again, I'm not you and the power/volume button might be something you interact with every day and these minor annoyances can build up.

Thanks sfhub. I will return it because i already have asked for it and because not only the buttons are mushy, but also the power button is too loose for my taste (the other 5X that I know have, at least, a firm power button). But if the newer unit come with the same mushy buttons, I probably will just accept it.
Thanks!
