Do you find TP2 buttons are hard to press? - Touch Pro2, Tilt 2 Windows Mobile General

I use TP2 for months now and find the buttons are somewhat hard to press especially the End Call/Home button, it has bad tactile among 4 buttons.
Maybe mine has button issue...
How is yours?

glad to find that am not the only one with this problem!
first i thought it got stuck cuz i pressed on it too hard, but now i guess its a failure in the design..
still searching for the perfect lock app so i don't have to feel this weird tactile every time i lock my device -.-
thanks for sharing

Odd, I don't feel anything weird with my home/end button. Perhaps it's an isolated problem specific to particular batches. Anyway, check out the following link for a lock app which is pretty good.

I agree. While the buttons do work, they lack the tactile feedback I would expect from a physical button. They don't have enough of a "click".

I feel the same sensation of hardeness, but it doesn't really bother me.
Just a question of feeling, nothing more

Quite a relief to know that mine is not faulty (just yet).

I have the same issue + as for me this keyboard not as comfy as it was at my herald, it's seems a little BIG with LONG distance between buttons. but anyway it's very good keyabord

anybody else really not like the unlock button?

I really dislike where its positioned, especially as its on the front "half" of the top, so you have to stretch your finger around that much more to hit it
and it feels really flimsy and has like a really week feedback/mechanism to it. have a feeling theres going to be lots of them breaking/packing in already
I'm not delighted with it coming from a G1 but getting used to it.
What I don't like is the positioning - it is right where it rests against my left hand when typing in portrait mode.
This is not a huge issue though on an otherwise superb phone.
Anyone know if there is an app that mimics the pressing of this button? When I'm finished doing whatever I like to lock the phone myself rather than wait for the timer to do it, the button placement annoys me so a quick app shortcut would be nice, or even better a hardware button re-assignment as I never use the search key.
I think once we get root access this could be done. For now there is the option of using alternate lock screen apps from the market. But for now we're stuck with the power button. This is my ONLY problem with my Desire. Not even a problem more a niggle.
Doesn't bother me in the slightest personally

I thought mine was the only one like this. I am sure once companies start to produce form fitting cases, this will take care of it.
Once "rooting" of this phone starts to get underway...some sort of program will allow the phone to be unlocked without having to use the "unlock" button alone. Or at least remapping the hardware buttons

HTC One X Power Button

Hey guys,
I have a question for you all: what do you think of the HOX Power button in maters of how much it sticks out and how "clickable" it is ?
I used to have a Nexus S that had the power button on the side and it seemed a lot more ckable as well. Also, on my HOX it seemed slightly more raised on one side then the other, as if they had not cut it right... What strikes me as a bit strange is that after pressing it for a few times per day for the last couple of days, it seems to have leveled itself a bit and now sticks a little less out of the casing and now it actually kind of "clicks" when I press it.
Did any of you experience anything similar ?

I found it very hard to turn on when it came out of the box. It's been fine since then. It may have clicked into place or I might have my technique down. Either way, no issues here.

16th of an inch. 2nd phone no difference. Pressure is 20 percent more firm than GS3. Nexus experience, my perfect.
Hope that helps

The power buttons may vary a little one to device to another, although this can be expected when being assembled in factory.
I wouldn't worry about it though.
It shall loosen up over usage! I tend to notice these things as well and it can be quite annoying, but you just have to try and get it out of your mind and enjoy all the wonders the device has to offer at the end of the day!

Haha.. The first time I found someone who mentioned the uneven "sticking out" part! You're right even my HOX power button seems more "raised" on one side. For me the half of the button that is towards the corner of the HOX is LESS raised than the other end. I don't know is it sticks out now less than before, but it has never given me problems. By "Clicks" do you man an audible sound (which is strange) or the tactile feedback (which is normal)?

By "clicks" I mean a small tactile feedback And the same thing appears on my HOX as well, the side of the power button near the corner of the device is less raised than on the other side and tends to go in a bit more when clicking the button...
To Everybody:
Thank you very much for your feedback. I was thinking that I am paranoid and now I have proof, haha... Thank you for giving me some peace of mind

I have a phone OCD lol. WHen I first got mine it was kind of sqeeky but now its not. The one at the store feels normal
Lock button? You mean the power button, right?
Yeah... the power button is real squeaky... Feels like its just kept there and not fixed properly at all.. Its not at all a good thing for a phone of this status....
For me, all the buttons feel a bit... sub-standard. They feel slightly tacky to me

[Q] Is your Note 8.0 Home Button a bit flushed or Recessed & Less Responsive?

Well The title speaks for itself...
Anyway, I just wanted to know if anyone of you guys have this issue like mine (well not really a "super issue, but it concerns me")? as far as i remember when i bought my note 8, i didn't notice if it's a bit recessed and or rather flushed as like almost in level with the screen, I have been searching from google and here as well but i kinda not find anyone complaining about the note 8's physical home button and i think mine is the only one who has this.
And another thing i found that when pressing the home button it sometimes does not work and i need to press a bit hard but not so hard for it to work, specially when pressing to wake my tablet that i need to put a bit of press pressure to turn my tablet on (wake up), I am worried that my home button is wearing out, My note 2 is has a crisp home button and responds well at light pressure the same as my note 2014 edition.
Please let me know guys if anyone of you noticed your note 8's home button that could be either wearing out or the same as mine.
Thanks...

Haven't seen it with mine... though I have a thick hardened glass protector that recesses the button from being pushed by accident. I also have the home screen button disabled to wake as well, so I guess I don't use the home button much to wear it out so to speak.
Hi, Thanks for your quick response, Maybe i placed too much attention on my tablet, but anyways, Is your home button soft and does it exhibit a click/tick feel if you press it? coz mine does not but there are times it does have a click/tick like feel wehn pressed but not always...
thanks...

Well I am not sure about click... but it is firm and springy to the touch. When about 1/2 way down, It gives a wee tactile feel just before bottoming down. Even though the button is big, it seems that pressing on the center is best, as the ends are a wee bit spongy.

[Q] Could you please check the power button for me on your find "7"

Hey guys,
I'm just wondering if the power button on the left is the same height/resistant to your volume button.
I'm not sure if it is meant to be like this or a spring has slipped. But on my power button it seems to lye almost flat with the side of the device. It also jiggles up and down a bit like a seesaw when you run your finger over it.
Another way to describe it is if you run your finger over both sides so they feel the same height? As for me the volume button definitely feels further out/ strong/ less flimsy?
Thanks just for my piece of mind should others be like this!
Many thanks Jack,

If your power button doesn't come out of your find7, it's not normal, mine is out the same height as the volume one. And it isn't less strong than the volume button :/
But mine are a little bit lose to, they jiggle like you explained ! I think that's pretty normal
Hope for you that your find 7 is not broken !

Okay wow, that sucks, I guess I'm not going to return it just yet as I don't actually have a phone as I just sent my old one away , I'm also going to assume the turn around for this sort of thing would take for ever and then there is the reinstalling of apps and argh so much effort!
