Ok..I am able to login to CWM, n install the os but it does not boot..its stuck in the bootloop. and the device is not USB debug enabled, and the /cache n /recovery folder are not accessible. cannot mount the /sdcard n /system folders..
Odin does not recognize the phone even after updated Samsung drivers for note 7100
In short, its a mess

1- Have you tried with a different USB Cable or socket. Maybe it's cable issue?
2- Can you wipe cache in CWM?
3- Did you try a factory reset after flashing the new rom?
There is not a easy way to enable USB debugging from recovery.

I tried this on 3 laptops and USB is not a problem I guess as one laptop recognized the device through ODIN.
I cannot wipe CACHE in CWM as it just pops up that it cannot mount or access the cache and Cannot do factory reset as well.
I am really not sure if I am gonna get this thing to work but I would not quit as this may be the thing that others may also face in future.

I got a new phone, SGS3, and after 24hours I decided it needs a stripped ROM. I have always used ADB and, or FASTBOOT on my other phones. I cant find anything saying how to get root other than through ODIN. I dont run windows though. I cant figure out how to get rw on anything other than the sdcards in the ADB shell. It doesnt come with SU or BUSYBOX. I copied both from my last phone to /storage/sdcard0 and updated PATH, still no luck.
I did sideload an OTA firmware (no root). When I try to sideload anything else it copies over then fails verification. OEM recovery says, "E:failed to mount /sdcard". Any tips for me to gain root without windows? What partition is recovery (double checking) so I can push/load TWRP too? No luck with Goomanager, nothing actually installs. I couldnt get root66 or a few other rooted roms either. Thanks for any help. Sorry, for such a simple question.
Ok. Im using Heimdall-1.4.0 on Knoppix (Live) and getting flash counts now. Heimdall upload fails "ERROR: Failed to confirm end of file transfer sequence!" but the counter shows the flash. I flashed --no-reboot, pulled the battery and booted directly into recovery (showed the blue text) but it never loaded recovery and after about 3 minutes it booted the OS. I tried to boot recovery again and OEM recovery was back. I tried TCWM and CWM. I have no Windows PC or discs for VMBox, and WINE didnt detect it.
PS. Well, i took it too far. I couldnt get it to flash recovery but I did flash boot. If I remember correctly, heimdall --no-reboot --flash --7 boot.img. I did it once and it skipped recovery (i was trying) and booted the OS. I rebooted again and recovery was back. I did another boot.img and now it wont boot. No recovery, download or boot. The buttons do nothing now. It does light the led red sometimes when plugged in. It does not get seen by adb, Heindall and even Odin. (I borrowed an Ex's Vista briefly). I even tried installing the Samsung USB drivers.
Here is dmesg...
Code:
[11397.924122] usb 1-3: new high-speed USB device number 22 using ehci_hcd
[11398.056989] usb 1-3: New USB device found, idVendor=05c6, idProduct=9008

Any ideas? Am I totally stuck at jtag?
Hi guys,
Last night, as I was using some app on my phone, it froze and wouldn't respond to anything. So I held the power button and let it reboot... except it wouldn't. The screen when off, and came back to the Samsung logo screen, but it wouldn't go past that.
I've rooted this phone in the past, but I am currently unrooted and on the stock 4.4.3 ROM from sammobile. No crazy tricks or anything. The phone will go into download mode, but I ODIN flashing fails (I've tried 2 or 3 versions of ODIN), and it will go into Android system recovery <3e> (I get a red triangle over a dead Android) then it says things like
Failed to mount /efs
Failed to mount /system
Manual mode
Applying multi-CSC
Failed to mount /system (no such file or directory)
Failed to mount /cache.....
...there is a lot of this kind of stuff, and then it gives me the options to reboot, apply update from ADB, external storage, etc...none of which work. I've tried wiping partitions, factory resets, flashing with ADB...
In Download mode, when I try to flash the stock ROM using ODIN, it fails. Differently worded errors in different versions, but in short, it's failing to write.
It's been 24 painful hours of reading threads on XDA and loads of other sites, and trying to fix this. Finally, I think my problem (or combination of problems) might just be unique to me. My gut feeling is that the internal SD card is corrupted, and I need to re-partition it, but I'm not sure, and I don't know how...
Please help...
Try reinstall drivers, another port usb or another usb cable. First you can try reinstall drivers and change usb port.

Hi Dannchelu. I tried that already. I installed Kies and uninstalled to get the latest drivers, but I've also tried to remove the drivers and install them separately. Drivers seem to be fine.
Also tried 2 separate cables, although I think I'm getting a successful connection with ODIN...just not able to write to the internal partition...
For repartition search xda for pit file . You need a pit file for your phone model which you can flash with odin. You need to read very good steps to follow because you can hardbrick your phone.
Sorry for bad english.

Check out device manager whilst connected via USB in download mode, if there's any devices with yellow symbols it probably means you need the adb drivers found here
http://developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html
Then Odin should pick up your tab and your in business, Odin is your way out of this I believe.

Okay show me a screenshot of device manager whilst tablet is connected in download mode, also expand any sub catogeries that contain either your adb device in it or anything with samsung in it if you can...you shouldn't need to play with com ports really, if the adb USB drivers are installed and the adb device shows up in device manager Odin's meant to detect it automatically, also right click on the adb device in device manager and click properties, and go to the section where it shows driver version and screen shot that just so I can verify a couple of things...sounds to me like its not using googles adb driver but can't be sure.

What I did is, I uninstall the driver from device manager, reboot my laptop let windows re-detect it again and walla..it found the new hardware and driver being installed again. Run odin, my device added and I flash back the original rom with the download mode and everything back to normal. Thank you so much for your help spending your time to help me troubleshoot together.
Appreciate all your help.

I cannot give you any advice for lollipop as I've never tried it, I only have t805 which its not available for yet, but if I did own a t705 I would definitely take a look at this:

Hi friends.
First of all, i have read similar threads but nothing changed.
i have Galaxy S4 mini I9190
4.2.2. UBNA1 Turkey Rom and root.
I think i deleted a system file including usb setting.
Now i can't connect pc.
I tried to factory reset, nothing changed, even so, root has gone.
Now:
* i can't flash new rom
* i can't connect to odin
* i can't do wipe data cache
* i can't get root
i changed usb socket (maybe socket is broken) but nothing changed.
i thing that problem is about software.
if i get ROOT, i can edit system file.
Please help.
Thanks.

What recovery do u have? If it is custom like cwm or twrp then you can flash a rom.
But i don't think the system file is responsible for download mode recongition. Try another usb cable and use odin as administrator.
PS :: Can you post a screenshot of the devices section from control panel on your pc??

I am using original stock rom, Not cwm or custom.
I tried another cable and PC.
When connect to PC, PC says "undefined hardware".
Neither connect in download mode, nor normal mode.
When I arrived home, I send screenshot.
If it says undefined hardware then there is something wrong with drivers.
Also it is possible that micro usb port on your device is malfunctioning.
Download and install latest samsung kies. It has latest usb drivers.

I tried that, another PC, another cable, reinstall driver bla bla bla.
There is no way to connect to PC.
We have to install from SD card.
What do u want to install from sd card??
Anyway from the looks of it the microusb port on you device seems to be the culprit.
Better go to samsung service.
Hi guyz,
I recived Zenphone 5 (T00j, WW) with KitKat 2.21.40.44 . The problem is that phone cannot be recognized as storage device on any computer. Please note that I'm skilled in computers, mobie devices, rooting, changing IMEI, reset counters and so on....so please don't write things like "try install correct USB drivers... ). So, the problems are 2:
1, phone cannot be recognized as USB storage on any PC - it fails with info "This device is disabled because the firmware of the device did not give it the required resources. (Code 29)" and in Device Manager is allways visible only as "Unknown Device". I installed all possible USB drivers. I can charge this phone via USB. It also doesn't respond on "ADB devcies" command of course. So it's not clear now if it's SW-related problem, or HW related (smashed circuit on PINs, resposible for In/Out data communication). I don;t know history of this phone...
2, I tried to eliminate SW-related issue. I made factory reset via Recovery mode. Downloaded FOTA update (appr. 90MB file). Rebooted to install it, but installation failed after few seconds in Recovery mode with broken android icon with this message :
Installing update...
Veryfyig current system...
assert failed: apply_patch_check("/system/app/AWS.apk" , ...some bull**** codes....
return code 8E:Error in /cache/dlpkgfile
(Status 8)
E: fota_return_code 403
E:Install of /cache/dlpkgfile failed with status 1
Installation aborted.
E:Installation failed with status 1
So I rebooted, and moved whole KK installation UL-ASUS_TooF-WW-5.2.2.2-user.ZIP through SD card to phone root. Phone found new installation .ZIP file, so I choosed install, it rebooted, started installing, but result was the same error message. So I wiped cache, made factory reset and trid once more, but result is the same. So it's not clear if the probelm is somewhere in /system/app/AWS.apk (maybe is missing in the system, I cannot confirm because of broken USB I cannot root it), or if the problem is in cache partition with file /cache/dlpkgfile
Can you please help me somehow guyz? Thank you very much
install Intel Android USB driver .......
As I wrote before : "don't ask me for installing drivers..." - of course I installed Intel Android USB drivers But it doesn't help. I'll try to dwnld L to SD card and move it to root folder. Maybe whole L installation will solve this problem...it looks that it's SW-realted as is described in Windows Unknown device driver: "This device is disabled because the firmware of the device did not give it the required resources. (Code 29)" . So Windows knows that something tries to cennect, and this eliminates HW failure of USB port

Yes, that's unfortunately the reason of whole issue. I successfuly updated Android L through SD card -> no change. I made downgrade back to KK -> no change. Phone has burned data circuit inside board. OK, no problem, I can live with this :good:
