i know this is sprint galaxy s3 section, but the straight talk s3 is basically the same phone and there is no section for it.
if you own this particular model, then you would know that its pure hell trying to find ANY files. this is the stock MD6 modem.bin ripped from my phone. ive seen people ask for this modem because they flashed the MD4 modem in hopes of getting their MSL and/or for the benefits of being able to use the 16-digit password. (which reminds me.. i have read of ways to port the 16-digit password from a .dll file in the phone? i have done loads of searching, but the password is NO WHERE to be found) and needed the stock modem. so for anyone that needs it here it is.
hopefully us ST S3 users will eventually gather up all the odin files to completely restore our phones when needed

Alright guys, I'm posting this here because it's the closest forum to the SCH-R760x I can find (CDMA SGSII) I think you guys are the D710 but I suppose the modem works about the same.
Anyway, in a fit of despair I odined the stock files for the USCelluar Varient of the SGSII which yes... is different.
So here's my problem, it may be more than this, but this is what I've noticed.
-After odining the USCC stock files, under About Phone>Status the "user name" field showed (phonenumber)@uscc.net
-So I odined the Generic stock files ( like I should have done in the first place) with Phone EFS Clear checked and now the same field shows (phonenumber)@carrier.com
-Opened modem.bin from the stock files .tar in a hex editor and found in offset 0822A0 "@carrier.com"
-Tried editing modem.bin to @awcc.com but after saving the file and trying to odin I get a failed. (replaced character spaces with hex 00) @carrier.com=12 characters @awcc.com=9 characters
http://dl.dropbox.com/u/21311280/modem.bin <--- modem.bin file if anyone wants to give editing a shot.
I don't know if anything else beyond this needs to be changed but I'm pretty sure this is at least one of my problems (besides stupidity)
It's almost like my phone is back in the generic state and needs to be programmed for Alltel so if anyone know anything about the initial programming needed for a smartphone at Alltel that may work as well.
No I'm not Verizon, this is still Alltel now owned by Allied Wireless Communications
So anyway, any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Also if this would be better suited in a different section please advise.
Thanks xda, you guys have always been great and hopefully can get me through this as well.

My first endeavor would be to look up alltel phone programming, if that wasn't possible, but could still be the fix, I'd take it in to the store and see what they know. I would say this just happened and you don't know what happened.

so i'm in need of some big help here. i have a t-mobile galaxy note 2(SGH-T889). I recently rooted my phone(clockwork) as was looking around for some custom roms to put on it. then i came across the hawkish extreme on here(was blown away by it by the way, pure awesome). me being foolish as i am opted to put this on my phone. just i didn't realize until it was too late that it was for international phones only. so now i have no service with circle and the diagonal line through along with the imei saying unknown. i'm completely lost i've seen a couple threads on here as to how to recover but not any dealing with my type of situation. i don't have efs backed-up. i'm a little freaked out right now so any help would be grateful.
any other information you need just let me know.
thanks in advance.
[edit]: i fixed thanks to teshxx SGH-T889 Factory Images, Roms, Kernels, & Modems thread
Start with flashing stock t mobile with odin. You might get lucky and it will be fine, if not the are guides to help you get your imei and signals back.
Hello all, I posted here several weeks ago about me trying several things on my SPH-L520 to get root back after Knox, and ultimately failing until I found s0be's CyanogenMod project for the SPH-L520. This saved my device and I have a fully working ROM again with root access and the likes, however back when I started this commotion I deleted the modem off of my phone. After tinkering with my brothers phone today and following some very helpful threads I have successfully recovered the modem.bin from his phone. Unfortunately, this is where my expertise ends, as I don't know how to build the constituent parts to include in a .zip to make this modem flashable. Do to the current state of development for the SPH-L520 I also haven't found any modem packages that would work for me on a CDMA network, as most (read: all) of the modem packages I have found are for international LTE variants, and even if my phone successfully accepted them, well you know why that probably wouldn't work. So I'm asking for help, one final push to make my phone a phone again and not a fancy PDA. If anyone knows how I can turn the modem bin i have into a flashable zip, I would greatly appreciate the help.
Thanks in advance, Hans.
Perhaps this thread can help you: http://www.rwilco12.com/forum/archive/index.php?thread-92.html
You need to flash through Odin twice for the modem to take effect.
You will probably be creating a .tar.md5 for modem.bin only

Thank you for linking to that thread.Unfortunately, Knox prevents Odin from successfully flashing the modem.tar I created. I'm going to try backing up my brothers modem with ZipMe and installing it on my phone that way.

What the hell is up with my phone? I just when checking around the firmware file with ES File Explorer, and right there inside is the modem files! But for some reason it's not working, the modem isn't being loaded or something because I still have no phone coverage... This is very strange.

EDIT: So I went into my connectivity settings and tried to add a APN. It wouldn't save to my phone. After that I tried changing my phone from NV to RUIM/SIM, but it wouldn't switch. I also tried to configure a network, but it said I needed to insert my SIM and restart the phone. Odd...

thanks for your time.
As far as Im aware, all the info you seek is on the thread youve linked and posted this in. So probably not.
About 1 and a half months ago I flashed a Rom, as I had done many times before, and expected to have little to no problems with it. Man was I wrong. I was unaware that I had flashed a T-Mobile modem with it by mistake. I had done 3-4 backups in TWRP but they all must be too old to help or something. I have read that any Canadian SGH-T889v Note 2's, which is what I have, that flash the T-Mobile modem can not revert back to the Wind Mobile modem. If I am wrong can someone with more experiance with this issue, please, correct me and guide me in the right direction to repair it. I have bought a Z3X box to repair my imei but over the last 7 days I have been unable to have my Note 2 even be recognize by it. I am assuming that something has been damaged in the usb communication setup. And yes I have reconfigured the settings in the hidden menus just as the instructions laid out. The baseband appears to be locked to the T-Mobile version "T889UVUCMK7". I am at the android version 4.4.2, and my bootloader is at version T889VVLUDNE7, which is also the number for my PDA Version. I have read that a JTag may be the way to go to recover the full functionality of my Note 2. If this is correct can someone recommend a good one.
Thanks to everyone who shares their experience.
If you end up with JTAG, mobiletechvideos.com is a reputable one. I doubt you will get far without something akin to JTAG. YMMV.
