Yes. Go to device manage and find USB Root Hub. Go to the properties and under Power Management untick "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power". Do this on all the USB Root Hubs showing.

[Q] How can connect Nexus to PC without Admin Rights?

I don't know If this question was asked before but I couldn't find any in the forum. I also read some topics about MTP but no straight forward solution.
How can I connect my Galaxy Nexus to a PC without having Admin Rights? As you know MTP needs driver which it is not possible to install it on a PC without admin rights. A quick solution would be appreciated. I missed USB device my phone a lot.
...and PLEASE do not say to "call your admin", everybody knows that!
Uncheck "usb debug" in the developer menu options

If you are using Windows 7, plugging it in would work.

I really didn't want to hear that but thanks anyway, at least I don't have to look elsewhere.
BTW disabling debug option didn't work for me. However, do you mean if we had Win7, it would work by disabling debug mode?

It didn't work for me! I'm wondering what makes the different.
MTP is supported in Windows XP if Windows Media Player 10 or later versions are installed.

Win7 have MTP drivers, no need to disable anything.

This is the other problem! The media player installed is v9 and my nonsense admin in the company don't want to update it, generally he is against updating anything including his brain!
Thanks guys for help, I learned a few things here anyway.
When you first boot the computer repeatedly tap f5 until menu for safe mode pops up. Choose safe mode with networking. Unless they put password on machine you can access and install. Safe mode will bypass any admin setting

Does enter safe mode also requires password?
An alternative for the OP, indirect solution
Install some app on your phone which will enable you to transfer files via LAN(like something makes your phone as a uploadable FTP server , in which your phone and computer need to connect to same Wi-Fi. Then you can transfer files via Internet Explorer.
Or buy a OTG cable and USB storage device... transfer file to USB and then OTG to phone...
Just 2 stupid ideas....
Furthermore, if it is XP, google some Win PE environment, in which should have tools to disable admin password, hard problem is how you set it back as you never hacked into System.
One more thing, I think XP's admin password was saved in some file, you may be able to kill it by delete this file or replace it with non-password file ....
I don't know, either way, you need secondary operating system such as WinPE, even Dos....

Depends how they set it up. Usually it will bypass. You can also try leaving it blank Cuz default is usually empty unless they went into dos and set one up. Usually don't Cuz people don't know bout that backdoor
I've never needed pe to bypass intalls

[Q] USB debugging not working

After recently flashing the new aosp kit kat, I have now lost the ability to link between my computer and phone. usb debugging is checked and all it does is slow charge. I have restored previous roms and debugging still does not work. Anyone else having this issue?

I am still running windows 7
RESOLVED
Set debug mode on, connect your phone. When you get the prompt for File Storage, MTP, or Charge mode click on the back arrow on the top left corner. This will take you back one screen to where you can see USB Tethering. Turn it on and debug will be enabled.
I hope it works for you.

Same here. I have stock unroot LS970ZVC. I want to root but debug won't work.
With Debug on, all I get are the options of Charge Only, File Transfer, and MTP.
Without nothing happens.
Windows 7 and the LG Android Driver from LG's Website.
Unfortunately the screen to choose between, charge only, mtp, or pics. No longer even comes up. Just slow charges.

Have you enabled USB debugging in developer options? (to see developer options, click on "build" under settings several times until it appears.)

Just getting frustrated with it. I even reset the device and updated it to android 5

Did you install LG PC Suite?
In addition, you also have to enable USB debugging in Developers settings (tap build number few times).

roflmao i forgot about debugging
Everyone overlooks things from time to time.
Yes remember it might not see it as adb till you switch it to ptp just a heads up
You may also need some of this: http://forums.team-nocturnal.com/index.php/topic/1362-how-to-adb-fastboot-in-windows-xp-7-81/
Don't forget if you use my ROM I remove the USB Debugging Icon from the notification bar. Just an FYI.

Cannot connect Lumia 950 to Windows 10 PC

I could not connect my Lumia 950 to a Windows 10 PC using the data cable the phone came with.
When I connect them the phone asks if I want to enable "data connection" I push yes. The PC is installing some 950 firmware or driver but nothing happens. I cannot reach the phone. Any idea?
try install Windows Device Recovery Tool (because drivers)
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=525569
P.S.
in case that not helped, also try install Nokia Software Recovery Tool (this tool not working with Lumia phones but install and fix current drivers)
http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=525568
you dont need to enable any data connection, just plug USB cable and look in "My Computer"
if Windows Phone not show in "My Computer" go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers, look for Windows Phone there

Doesn't work. It cannot find driver for it. I tried it more times using different USB ports. This is ridiculous. A Microsoft product cannot find driver for another Microsoft product.
driver work just fine... seems your Windows update not working (or you block something). i dont have any problem with Lumia 950 on Windows 10 Pro

Not sure, how can I check?
I solved it. If anybody runs into similar issues the problem was the Windows itself. I had Win 10 Pro N version freshly installed. Win 10 Pro N doesnt contain Media Player which is needed to connect a mobile phone even an Android. Which is strange. I realized when I couldnt connect an old Android either.
I tried to install media feature set but it didnt help. I had to reinstall Win 10 Pro version. Everything works now.
so you moved the piano because you couldn't move the chair?
Mine was connecting a week ago, but now the Lumia 950 is recognized by Windows Device Recovery Tool , but doesn't appear in the file browser no more.

I had the same issue and found this thread while looking, my issue is that the usb3 port of my pc would only charge the phone, no other options available however when I moved the usb cable to a usb 2 port everything worked as it should, phone companion, import photos etc, strange considering the cable supplied with phone is fast charge usb c type yet in doesn't work in the fastest port on my pc.
hope this helps someone out
I had a similar issue after Win 10 anniversary update. Plugging phone into USB 3 hub would not recognize the phone (even though it worked before the update). I tried plugging it directly into a USB port on the MB and it recognized the phone, installed the drivers, and connected. AFTER this, I was able to connect via the USB 3 hub, as I had before the update. Hope this helps somebody.
Interesting...
I had some similar problem with the Continuum docking station, where the provided (with the dock) cable wouldn't allow the phone to see it at first.
It then worked after I swapped both ends... Go figure.
Hello guys,
It seems I have the same issue here, but my phone won't turn at all its just vibrate when plug in the cable.
I want to connect it to the PC to use windows device recovery tool.
I think its a known problem (Lumias) so any help will be appreciated !
