[Q] MMS Not Working - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Galaxy 3 running CM 10.2 latest stable, on Sprint.
I've been using the latest version of Google Hangouts to handle all of my texting and it was handling SMS and MMS just fine. The other day it just stopped handling SMS and MMS sending or receiving. I downloaded Textra and tried to use that and it's still not sending or receiving MMS. All of my setting appear to be in order:
MMSC: http://mms.sprintpcs.com
MMS Proxy: 68.28.31.7
MMS Proxy Port: 80
This is incredibly frustrating. Can someone give me some advice?

[Q] Sending MMS Under Froyo FRX06, Tmobile

I know there's a ton of messages on MMS, but I've tried searching and have been unable to find a fix for this. I've got an unlocked TP2 from AT&T running on Tmobile, booting Froyo off of my SDcard. I've got an old Suncom sim card with a grandfathered in 2g data plan, it's not the fastest but it's free and unlimited. I've gotten data & mms to work with this sim in winmo, iphones, and every other phone I've tried, but this is my first experience with android and its giving me a lot of problem.
My APN Settings:
Name: Suncom Net
APN: mobileinternet
MCC: 310
MNC: 490 (suncom's old mnc)
APN Type: default,supl
the rest blank
Name: Suncom WAP
same as above but APN Type is blank
(got mms receiving & data working with this in there so I've left it)
Name: Suncom MMS
APN: wap.voicestream.com
Proxy: 216.155.165.50
Port: 8080
Server: wap.voicestream.com
MMSC: 216.155.174.84/servlets/mms
MMS proxy: 216.155.165.50
MMS port: 8080
MCC: 390
MNC: 490
APN type: mms
I've got data working. I can receive mms perfectly, as long as wifi is disabled. But I cannot get it to work to send an mms. Took me forever to get the receiving mms working and that just turned out to be the naming of the APNs (which I thought was weird) but I feel like I'm missing something else small to get this working.
Any help would be appreciated.
EDIT: Forgot to mention I'm not getting an error message, it just hangs. Wifi is disabled. And the edge icon comes up and sends and receives data for a short period of time before it seems like it gives up.
If you are connected to T-mobile's network you should try t-mobile's network settings....
These settings work for me with xdandroid on t-mobile....
APN epc.tmobile.com
proxy: 216.155.165.050
port: 8080
MMSC: http://mms.eng.t-mobile.com/mms/wapenc
MMS proxy: 216.155.165.050
MMS Port: 8080
MCC: 310
MNC: 260
APN type: default,supl,mms
Looks like your setting are almost the same except for the MMSC.
IIRC, I couldn't send MMS until setting my MMSC to the address I posted.
Nope not the solution for me. If I use epc.tmobile.com as my apn I don't think I'm getting any connection out, probably due to my older sim I'm thinking, just from watching the upload/download icon, very little activity. Don't even get a notification for a failed download of mms picture with it.
Trying that MMSC with wap.voicestream.com as my apn I'm at least getting a connection out, a lot of upload/download activity, and getting a download failed notification trying to download an mms.
The only thing I think I haven't tried is changing the mms user agent, but I'm receiving pictures at 128kb, much bigger than what I would think an unrecognized user agent would receive. But so far most of the mms setup for android has been different than what I've seen before so maybe it'll work.
Also a newer Tmobile sim might fix it too, but I've had it working in other phones. It works flawlessly in windows mobile on the same phone. Again I'm thinking it's a combination of the sim card either the mms user agent of android or some other identification tmobile is getting from my phone showing up as android.
I think that with highlands new RIL, MMS works, you just have to enter the right APN settings.

GSM MMS worked in the original RIL too, I didn't change any of that. The only thing new regarding MMS in my RIL is for CDMA phones.

Texting issues

Im using Acesmod v41 rom on my phone and it works just great. ITs my daily driver.. But it seems recently when ever a go to try other roms i cannot get text messaging to work 100%. Typically the first thing i do with a new rom is text my own number to verify it works. Well it seems my message cannot do the round trip and i get un able to deliver message.. I can receive messages from my wife it seems so it does work. I texted using telus website to my phone and that works.
I have texted my self in the past as a test and it works. Any ideas why i cannot send my self a text anymore? Now when i go back to ACESmod v41 i cannot text myself anymore like i used to..
here are my settings:
Name: TELUS SP
APN: sp.telus.com
Proxy: 74.49.0.18
Port: 80
Username: <Not set>
Password: <Not set
Server: <Not set>
MMSC: http://aliasredirect.net/proxy/mmsc
MMS Proxy: 74.49.0.18
MMS Port: 80
MMS Protocol: WAP 2.0
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
APN type: default,mms
Check ur service center number in the sms settings.
MMS APN has nothing to do with texting failure.
Looks like i have the correct number
+16475800172
Why do u wanna text to urself? is texting to someone doing OK with ur rom? if u want to be sure of the sms is recieved, u have to turn on the delivery report. did u do that?
I have no friends... so i text myself...
LOL
Seriously i text myself anytime i flash a new rom, i also call my self as well. To make sure both are working sending or receiving... From time to time it seems my ability to send and receive texts is not 100%
So today i cannot send any texts to my self. But i have been receiving some from my wife and she has been getting some of mine.. But not all of the texts i have sent her.
So i text my self to make sure everything is working... in my case its not working.
I did not turn on that confirmation option. i will. but that is why is text myself. i know i sent it and would know i received it quit easily...
Any ideaS?
WEll just to complete the story, i have done nothing and it seemed to work its self out. All settings as i said where correct..
For what ever reason i can text myself again and have confirmed many to and from texts...
Why this seems to come up when ever i decided to flash different roms i have no idea. Im on an ICS rom now and life is good...

[Q] GoSMS Pro and MMS Failure

I got this phone last week, coming from an EVO 4G with which I used Go SMS Pro for years with no problems with MMS whatsoever. However, now with the Optimus G I'm having some serious problems. Group messages and MMS aren't working properly with GoSMS Pro. Namely, they aren't being sent - unless I send them from the stock messages app. Is anyone else having this problem? I've heard of people reseting their APN settings, but I'm not sure how to do this since it's not in the settings menu. I've tried manually entering APN settings for GoSMS Pro and the settings I've tried haven't worked:
MMSC:
- (New users can't post outside links? This isn't a link! It's sprintpcs mms)
MMS PROXY:
68.28.31.7
MMS PORT:
80
Things work just fine with the stock app, but as I'm sure we've all noticed, the stock messaging app is both unattractive and not very smooth. My question is: Is anyone else having this problem, and how do I fix it? Any help/suggestions/advice is much appreciated!
Mine is working fine. I went ahead and set every option in go sms to manual though.
User Agent - LS970 SPRINT
User Profile Url - http://device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS970-SPRINT/LS970ZV8.rdf It cuts the url short, so click this link then copy the address.
MMSC - http://mms.sprintpcs.com
MMS Proxy - 68.28.31.7
MMS Port - 80
Hope that helps!

I am on T-Mo too, I have had that problem more than a few times, and each time, I had to call T-Mo to renew my network connection.
You best call on another phone, as they will take you out of the network and re-insert you to it again. You will have to remove the battery, wait a few, and then reboot. After that It works!!
One time I had to clean out the cache and data of my mms client and the native mms app and it worked (fine ever since)
Good Luck and Aloha!

Textra MMS not working

I just downloaded textra and love the app, so much cleaner than gosms. gosms has too much bloat. I cant get MMS to work on textra.
the default APN settings in textra were:
MMSC: http ://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
those did not work, so i went to settings -> mobile networks -> access point names and it was set to "ATT LET pta" i copied the apn settings from there into textra, they are:
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMSC proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
As soon as i did this i received like 3 MMS messages that were sent to me yesterday, but i am not receiving new ones.
Anyone have any idea whats going on?

Not OP but was having the same issue with Textra and MMS. What fixed it was manually changing those old cingular URLs to be the mmxc.mobile.att.net and proxy.mobile.att.net. I kept the MMS proxy port at 80. FINALLY I am able to send MMS pics again.
I'm so tired of the GoSMS bloat and the fact that they send me spammy text messages. Happily uninstalling it to use Textra now that I got the MMS figured out.
Thanks for the help in getting it running, jda2631!

Thanks! This fixed it for me on Nexus 5. Not sure why these aren't the default settings.

Wanted you thank you for the 8080 MMS port idea. Worked for me! Thanks. I realize that your post is ~a year old.

Hi may I suggest another app that recently launched. It will let you send images over standard sms (picture sms) you will not need mms.
This app supports mms anyways.
Give it a try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.svs.shareviasms
