I got this phone last week, coming from an EVO 4G with which I used Go SMS Pro for years with no problems with MMS whatsoever. However, now with the Optimus G I'm having some serious problems. Group messages and MMS aren't working properly with GoSMS Pro. Namely, they aren't being sent - unless I send them from the stock messages app. Is anyone else having this problem? I've heard of people reseting their APN settings, but I'm not sure how to do this since it's not in the settings menu. I've tried manually entering APN settings for GoSMS Pro and the settings I've tried haven't worked:
MMSC:
- (New users can't post outside links? This isn't a link! It's sprintpcs mms)
MMS PROXY:
68.28.31.7
MMS PORT:
80
Things work just fine with the stock app, but as I'm sure we've all noticed, the stock messaging app is both unattractive and not very smooth. My question is: Is anyone else having this problem, and how do I fix it? Any help/suggestions/advice is much appreciated!
Mine is working fine. I went ahead and set every option in go sms to manual though.
User Agent - LS970 SPRINT
User Profile Url - http://device.sprintpcs.com/LG/LS970-SPRINT/LS970ZV8.rdf It cuts the url short, so click this link then copy the address.
MMSC - http://mms.sprintpcs.com
MMS Proxy - 68.28.31.7
MMS Port - 80
Hope that helps!

Does Anyone know the settings for Verizon's MMS Server?
I wanted to send video thru MMS so I installed the MMS CAB on Ehud's site. The problem was, I need to enter my provider's MMS server settings:
Gateway:
Server IP:
Port:
I called Verizon, after 1.5 hours on the phone, 15 people, 4 so called "experts", no one could tell me the settings.
No Problem...I just did a hard reset to get back to my original MMS software and record the settings....no joy...for some reason, on the MMS Settings->Servers tab, I can't get the information....
Does Anyone know the settings for Verizon's MMS Server?
Thanks,
Matt

This should work http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2506802&postcount=1581
I guess
i have for Gateway an IP address from my carrier maybe is your issue..
after running arcsoft you need to run the network settings wizard again. if its not in the rom you are using, do a search of the forum... I know its floating about...
Cheers...
Sorry for hijacking the thread but does anyone know why i have only ever been able to download MMS messages on one rom and my phone has been flashed more times than i care to remember. So i cant remember what rom it was , that i was using, when it did work. All the settings are fine. Arcsofts installed. It will detect a message is available, but it tries to download through the browser and then fails?
Not too bothered as i have bluebook which allows me to see the pics and put them on the phone anyway, but its been bugging me for over a year now, so any insight into it would be helpful.
Oh and i can send mms pics fine, just cant download them
i have tried all the settings here; i tried the ones on the ATT forums. i re-rean the setup wizard and rebooted, and i STILL cannot donwload MMS Messages PLEASE PLEASE someone find a way to make my phone more useful by letting hot chicks send me hot pics of themselves!!?? (ok, just kidding, i jsut get pics of my friends cats and his computer screen, but still) it is quite frustrating not being able to recieve mms messages
thanks!!
I have noticed that
1. you need to be in good 3g coverage area to receive MMS (and send), GPRS won't do.
2. If you try to 'send/receive' it will give you error, the split MMS will just notify you once you're in 3g coverage that there is MMS to be downloaded and it will switch connection from internet to MMS.
3. what radio are you using?

MMS thing is real complicated to work. I had more luck with the 4.xx version, than the 5.xx version. Although in some ROM 5.xx version seems to work rather than 4.xx. I would try different version and see what works.
I just downloaded textra and love the app, so much cleaner than gosms. gosms has too much bloat. I cant get MMS to work on textra.
the default APN settings in textra were:
MMSC: http ://mmsc.cingular.com
MMS Proxy: wireless.cingular.com
MMS Port: 80
those did not work, so i went to settings -> mobile networks -> access point names and it was set to "ATT LET pta" i copied the apn settings from there into textra, they are:
MMSC: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
MMSC proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
MMS port: 80
As soon as i did this i received like 3 MMS messages that were sent to me yesterday, but i am not receiving new ones.
Anyone have any idea whats going on?

Not OP but was having the same issue with Textra and MMS. What fixed it was manually changing those old cingular URLs to be the mmxc.mobile.att.net and proxy.mobile.att.net. I kept the MMS proxy port at 80. FINALLY I am able to send MMS pics again.
I'm so tired of the GoSMS bloat and the fact that they send me spammy text messages. Happily uninstalling it to use Textra now that I got the MMS figured out.
Thanks for the help in getting it running, jda2631!

Thanks! This fixed it for me on Nexus 5. Not sure why these aren't the default settings.

Wanted you thank you for the 8080 MMS port idea. Worked for me! Thanks. I realize that your post is ~a year old.

Hi may I suggest another app that recently launched. It will let you send images over standard sms (picture sms) you will not need mms.
This app supports mms anyways.
Give it a try https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.svs.shareviasms
Galaxy 3 running CM 10.2 latest stable, on Sprint.
I've been using the latest version of Google Hangouts to handle all of my texting and it was handling SMS and MMS just fine. The other day it just stopped handling SMS and MMS sending or receiving. I downloaded Textra and tried to use that and it's still not sending or receiving MMS. All of my setting appear to be in order:
MMSC: http://mms.sprintpcs.com
MMS Proxy: 68.28.31.7
MMS Proxy Port: 80
This is incredibly frustrating. Can someone give me some advice?
Anyone got this to work correctly? AFAICT, only thing I'm able to send is text messages- pictures just won't send or receive. I tried switching to manual APN settings but it looks like only 3 properties are exposed:
MMSC
MMS Proxy
MMS Proxy Port
... it's like where are the rest??? (MCC, MCN, Authentication Type, APN Type)
PS: I have an email out to the Textra developer(s), hopefully they can advise on this. In the meantime, if there's something I'm missing please feel free to point it out

So I gave up on Textra... installed Hello SMS then that wasn't working out. Went back to Textra and voila ... for some reason, now MMS messaging is working as expected. Whodathunkit?
that's really odd, i've had no issues with mms on ATT.
i use evolve, stock, hangouts, hello and qk sms.
did you check the main apn settings to see if something isn't borked there?
