Before I'm told to search, a Google search yields nothing regarding a particular wakelock I'm experiencing. I'm on CleanROM 2.6 and using Bricked Kernel. I know it's not a issue regarding the ROM or kernel, because I've had this wakelock in Jelly Bean also with a number of kernels and ROMs.
The wakelock is "sns_async_ev_wakelock". It's held 1 day and 5 hours of wakelock and it's woken up 201131 times. (I'm using Wakelock Detector). The tablet has been in airplane mode with no wifi or sync enabled as of last night. Today, I turn on my tablet and it's at 1%. It was a 53% last night. I'm talking 11pm last night to 7pm today. With no use.
I would love any and all help. I got nothing.

Can someone give me any ideas how to further pursue this? I just want to know what is causing this.
Today, this wakelock has a count of 78000 times. What the heck.
This is insanity. My battery life is awful today. Freshbacks only has 30min CPU time.
Clear the data on it or just disable and reinstall it.

It's not Freshbacks. I've had this issue before Freshbacks.
Google search has nothing?

Looks like some apps are causing this issue. You need to either uninstall non-vital apps or do a factory reset and start from fresh.

The reddit link and the last link are the same person. He/she said his/her wakelock was fixed with a new version of Android. I have the same apps on my N7 and MotoX. MotoX operates fine. The wakelock has existed across Jelly Bean and KitKat for my N7. It can't be my Freshbacks app, as the wakelock existed before that.
Being same apps doesn't mean the will work properly across all devices, there might be a bug in just N7 (or a tablet version), if its not a hardware problem and you have stock it has to be an app doing something wrong.

For example, today. I have my screen on for 4hrs. My battery is at 53 percent after being off the charger for 5hrs.
I have this on my LG G2 and still found no definite solution - I just got lucky and the wakelock slowed down after flashing stock ROM from another region. Nowadays it doesnt go over 10 minutes in 22 hours too often.
Quite annoying as this seems to come from Qualcomm's sources. This kind of bug is simply unacceptable.

It's from QCom? That would make more sense. My battery has been awful. Not something I'd expect from this tablet.
Make appropriate backups then do a factory reset. See if the wakelock is there without any apps installed, then start adding back the apps you had before.

It's a kernel wakelock common to the S3 LTE, Nexus 4 and a couple other models, and they all use QC chips.

Kill the program. If you leave GPS on and that program runs it will suck battery like no other. Axe GPS and the program and it should go down.
If it doesn't, try reflashing the ROM after clearing everything...this might have also caused some problems
So i turned off gps and force closed maps.... still at 92%. I never had this problem with maps using myn's until maps v5.0.

ALSO, I turned off background data and force closed maps again, still at 82 percent of battery usage. I am just going to revert to an older version of maps. I feel like someone on here knows the answer and just isn't saying. I used to get 30+ hours on a battery charge, and that number has been cut in half now.

Yeah, well, that was a joke. But the problem remains. I just wanted to know if anyone else has experienced this.
I was having the same issue too. I used it as an opportunity to try out a new ROM (CM 6.1.1), and have not had the problem with the new maps since.

I was thinking the same thing.... maybe the newest fresh, maybe CM. You've convinced me.
I just wanted to say that this is happening to me to. HTC EVO running the most recent official software. I was sent over here by a user on another message board, and there's at least 2 or 3 other posters who are having the problem.
I uninstalled the update, and went back to the version that the phone shipped with and it fixed the problem. Reinstalled 5.0 and there was no problem UNTIL I ran navigation in maps. Now it's doing the same thing again.
i have the same problem to on my HTC wildfire running on the most update official software. i tried reinstalling v5 but that didnt work for more then 3 houres. So now i deinstalled the updates and it works fine again.
anyone a better solution?
Dude, I had this EXACT same problem. Trust me, it's not Maps draining your battery. For some reason, it lists the last app used and puts it there. Later on, it will be Android System. I was scrambling. Killed the program, turned off auto sync, mobile data, etc. Nothing worked. Using the same rom and all.
Found out, my PRI and radios were not compatible with my build. Are you on 3.3? And using 1.9 PRI. It needs to be 1.7.
Check this out and see if that's the issue. If it is, fix that and you will be back to normal. Switching to CM really didn't fix your issue, just their rom with your build is compatible with those radios and PRI.

I have the very same problem. I haven't exactly solved it but Quickboot sure helped. Maps 5 is seriously flawed though. Even after GPS is off it still hogs the battery, ridiculous.

I recently saw a post asking about the "0" and the horrific battery life. While no one ever figured out what it was, the op solved the issue by backing up his apps & data with titanium, flashing Calkulin's format all zip, then reflashing his rom & kernel. I think he slowly restored apps so he could watch for the issue coming back.
Try a search & you might come up with the thread. I would definitely try the format all zip, though.

Try reading the logcat file. Get alogcat from market. You'll see either a block or multiple calls to some apk.
You call also get autostarts from market and disallow activation of intentions / events which cause "hangs" (spinning waiting) from the apk you found in logcat.
Thank you, I'll try that also.

Widgets, Live wallpaper Messaging clients Or any other client that receive notifications from the internet Will have your battery murdered like a runaway slave.
Typically a battery is only good for 200 to 250 charges. If it was charge properly every time. Let's face it nobody even knows how to charge the battery properly.
*edit please add around 900 more to the above figures for li-ion batts. Figures I quoted were for standard rechargeables.
Also check that you're not constantly running wifi and bluetooth. 4 g and 3g modes eat more battery than 2 g mode. Do what I do disable all wireless connections not in use.
If you ever noticed the display eats most of your battery power. turn down the brightness whenever you can see the screen clearly.
Applications that stream data over the internet will eat your battery quickly.
That's about all I can think of. Well 1 more thing. Buy a new battery and see if that doesn't help. (try èbáÿ)

Definitely thinking about buying a new battery, mine completely died about 3 weeks ago and I had a hell of a time to get it to pick up a charge again. That's probably my main problem I'm guessing. I just can't figure out the 0 in spare parts, network usage. I tried flashing a fresh version of fresh rom and individually reinstalling every app I had before, seemed to work for awhile, it didn't show back up. Waited awhile and reflashed Slayer's cyan theme and now it's back. Battery life was still **** before it showed up again though. Good advice and thank you, I believe I'll try a new battery.

There is a large group flashing the Nightlies and I wanted to share with everyone that CM has decided their most recent build is good enough to be deemed STABLE.
Enjoy!!!! I suppose you can note issues here, but you'd probably get a better response if you join in the CM10 Nightly thread.
Edit:
Along with the STABLE moniker comes the Bug Reports too: http://goo.gl/zO2i0

How does one go the most bug free way from CM9 stable into CM10 stable?
Stable does not mean stable build. It is the same as usual "Nightly". CyanogeMod wants to finish building Android 4.1.2 and move to 4.2 (CyanogenMod 10.1)

Factory reset/wipe data before flashing. That's it.
so stable meaning they worked out the volume issue?
or stable enough to be a dayli driver?

I'm getting absolutely horrendous battery life with this release. I flashed yesterday using cm updater, and also tried after a complete wipe of everything and fresh install. Also tried with/without lightning zap. No improvement no matter what I do. I can literally watch the percentage drop 1-2 per minute it seems with screen on. Leaving the device idle isn't much better, maybe 4 hours tops with hardly any use....any one else experiencing this? Other than that it seems pretty solid btw

Me too my battery dropped 30% in three hours and that was not using my phone at all. I checked for wake locks and thought it might be android system but it only had it at 10 min. So I went back to v20c where I consistently only loose 1 - 2 % per hour in idle.

Found a bug that is very easily reconstructed. Simply press the record button for video (in my case 1080p). Phone crashes or sometimes freezes up. I can reboot using the power button.
Also battery life (at least so far) is very very poor but im going to let it settle for a few days and see how it is, km coming from cm9 for reference.

my battery life is just like previous 11/05 and 11/10. i have not yet installed lighting zap.
On my Telus P935 I got much better battery life than before, but that might have been because it's a new battery and isn't really broken in. I used it SMSing a few times a hour and occasionally googling last night on my 10 hour shift and after it being on for 11 hours it still have nearly 40% left. Way better than my Nexus S used to do. I did install Lightning Zap.

I am also getting really poor battery life.
Yesterday I went out for dinner with 100% charge and came back with 73% left. Just over two hours.
Also, found a bug. The Messaging (SMS) app won't allow me to set the dark theme. Anyone else confirm?
Chrome isn't installed in CM10. I thought Chrome replaced the Stock Browser in Android 4.1 What's going on?
I noticed that my AT&T ion with the international (LT28i) firmware stays awake about as much as with the LT28at AT&T firmware which is waaaaay too much. battery life sucks, of course, but it got me thinking. if there is a bug in this service, perhaps disabling it would have a positive impact? And (and this is a big one) if this service is not used by any other services I care about (to manage wakeups), maybe only servicing sony stuff I don't use, for eg, disabling this might not affect anything that I actually use.

I can recover easily enough as I have a firmware to flash, a path to root, and a good ti-backup of my system. However, I do not have anything with the name 'fastdormancy' in it anywhere. I did freeze com.sonyericsson.android.wakeup, though but it still appears as a running process even after a reboot.
I've done alot of searching and have not found where anyone has talked about discovering the source of all the wakeups that prevent the ION from sleeping much.
Haven't had a chance to view this yet. Might be helpful?

If I'm not mistaken isn't that fast dormancy just related to network? Get juice defender pro and set it to only use your data on specific apps when you open them or at intervals to check for emails and so on else data is off. It helps a lot when data isn't on all the time or going from 4g to 3g and none and so on, xda has a video talking about the good and bad of stopping fast dormancy and what its for to fully understand what you're doing
Sent from my LT28at using xda app-developers app
Yes. It is completely related to network. It affects battery because it it constantly checking signal even while data is off. The only way to stop it from waking and checking signal is to put the phone in airplane mode or delete the apk. AFAIK anyhow. I'm testing it now. So far so good. Real world testing is always a good thing.
Sent from my LT28at using xda app-developers app
Ur network provider has to support fast dormancy. Otherwise, it will cause high battery drain.
I've removed it on my s and can't really tell any difference.

So im getting some battery drain here and this phone is just 4 days old. I know time doesnt matter but im just saying ive given the battery some time to get better with the charges. First day i had to charge it twice, same with second day. Third day i disabled the CDMA/LTE radio and i had to briefly charge it.
Now today its been up for about 13 hours and its at 20% with mid-heavy usage. I dont think the battery is bad but i think IT COULD DO BETTER for a 2100mAh battery. Today i accidentally (from 8 am to 4 pm) ran with the CDMA/LTE setting on then i changed it to CDMA ONLY but battery was pretty much slightly better... I live in Puerto Rico so we are getting the new LTE Vision antennas soon here (decem 16. CANT WAIT) throughout the whole island
Something is weird... the first two days i noticed the battery drain so i noticed the SD card media server corrupt file bug but heres the thing... i took out my SD card and the media server process is still there :/ Shouldnt it have stopped? There is no more SD card for there to be a corrupt file problem. Also why is the Android process so high up on the list? should be about 85% screen and 15% the rest...
Any ideas why or who could be the culprit? I apologize for not using BetterBatteryStats as i havent purchased it and dont really intend on spending time on it. I love my phone just fine and i would hate to have to root it and install CM10.1 because i dont want to deal with updating my device every week because im OCD about updates.
Suggestions?
PS: i also run google now and Maps for latitude because i like sharing with my friends my location. Is latitude responsible for the whole Maps app battery usage? Is there a way for me to reduce it without manually having to update my location? Like in longer automatic intervals. Would disabling "report from this device" and "location reporting" turn off the latitude location sharing ?

lastly, the 12/16 LTE launch is only for the south of the island, or so they've advertised (I could use it in Hato Rey, I've only gotten 1x for the past month and a half)
I know but wishful thinking about the LTE. Heard it should be island wise by February.
So I guess rooting is the best way to get rid of these Battery problems but then even if I stay on the stock ROM I won't be able to upgrade OTA (not that it's been mentioned anyways)
