Hello all! This is my first time rooting and posting! I used http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1676686 to root the phone, then after unlocking did a reset in recovery, did a full backup, and installed http://d-h.st/Wsy (cm9) as well as gapps ( http://goo-inside.me/gapps/gapps-ics-20120317-signed.zip). After reboot everything runs great, but I have a wifi issue. When I swipe, it just says turning on wifi and hangs. Nothing ever happens. I checked advanced options, and the MAC address and IP address are "unavailable". It's under Virgin Mobile, currently I have no service active, so I use it as a media player. Can a brother get some help over here? Thank you kindly.

I used the Toolkit that I posted, and the Kernal flashing option is referred to as "optional". Like I said I am a noob lol. Any ideas?

Not enough detail. What options did you choose for the device in the toolkit? Did you choose the correct one?
Rooting doesn't modify your ROM settings, so flashing another ROM probably will not make a difference.

Did unlocking the bootloader erase your phone to factory settings? If so, you had to setup your wifi from beginning, i.e. enter wifi password?
Is the wifi antenna turning on?

Thank you for your fast reply. Yes i erased everything through the beginning process. I skipped the wifi setup to enable usb debugging I believe. And the wifi attenna is not turnning on. I did leave the usb cable plugged in throughout the process of the Toolkit...not sure if that makes a difference...bc it says to take it out at some point.
Edit: the Wifi is on when I click on it...but when i try to connect to a network...it either doesnt do anything and stays there or keeps on saying connecting until it says disconnected
Bump. Please HELP. I CANT EVEN CALL MY MOM...i forgot her phone number -,-
Bump 2. Help! I tried everything...Please anyone?
Maybe you need the jellybean WiFi fix. There have been complaints of lost or weak WiFi.

If you're having problems with 4.1, why don't you try downgrading? Download something like AOKP milestone based on 4.0.1 and see if the issue disappears. Don't forget to do a full wipe (dalvik as well) in CWM.
well i do feel like having trouble with wifi after updated to 4.1.1 ... it loses signals completely where other devices say "fair signal" .. thats kinda bad about JB update .. i think it must've got to do something with the baseband version .. my original 4.0.4 had something else and now in JB its different ..
i remember about my previous HTC .. when it comes to bad performance of signals, wifi .. etc .... the Radio must be re flashed. ..
if anybody knows anything .. please guide us ...
oops .. i found another forum for radio problems .. lets see if i can find my solution here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405345 ..

You have probably wiped data too which is a factory reset. Run your back up or reflash.

i reflashed an old version 2.3.4 and every thing is working fine, got an OTA update on phone and downloaded the update using wifi and it turned off as the part of update process, thats it and never turned on :crying::crying::crying:
i tried again to flash the same version but never worked!!! what can i do now
Flash THIS with the flastool and report back.
i tried that just now and it does the same result, after flashing the .ftf file it says to take the cable off and turn it on. It never turns on but when i press the power button it blinks the green LED (donno what it does mean!!)
any ways thanks for your suggestion.
Try THIS instead, if that doesn't work then not sure.

Thankyou mate for replying!
Ps. did u also notice big battery drain??
Get any explorer that allows you to get root access.
Go to:
Data>Misc>dhcp
Then erase both files everytime the loop starts showing.
This is a bug in FXP's newer releases.

Do I need to unlock the boot loader first? Because this didnt work for me.
Edit: 5th time rebooted, tried again, it worked!
failed on my lt26i
It works on all Lt26.
Be sure you have all drivers instaled properly and you are connected DIRECTLY to your pc, no usb-hubs etc.

SIM lock?
I rooted my phone using the initial method (I couldn't wait) and flashed CM9. My bootloader is unlocked and I have been running it for about a week. The mobile network is always alternating between airplane mode so I have no service at any time. I fixed it before but I can't remember how. I backed up my system at two different points (while the problem was fixed and I had service). But when I restored them, I face the same problem with the network. Any help?
Working on S and probably acro S
Hi,
I have flashed my phone today with hellboy kernel and aokp_primou jan 15-13.
Great rom only by incoming calls no ringtone even by you tube no sound.
if i touch the volume control with + and - (on the side from the phone)
than i hear beeps.
I try another hellboy kernel but nothings changed.
Has someone an idea ?
By stock sense rom everything is okay that means de harware is not broken.
Maybe i try an earlier aokp rom.
Already thanks for answering,
Greats Harold
Same problem
I got exactly the same problem!

I got the same problem with the guy who posted this one, if I do a full wipe will I need to do another flash of the AOKP ROM?
Thanks in advance.
If you just do a wipe, just the user data is erased. Therefore,no need to flash again.

Would you if this would resolve my issue with data usage on my phone, I am on a plan with unlimited data surfing but when I choose to turn on my data connection and it wouldn't work.
BTW thanks for the wiping part, it did work on my phone.
Thank you!
Yes,its a common problem.you have to reboot your device in order to enable data.sometimes my data is not enabled even if left on overnight.or,you have to switch it on and off many times for it to work.
There's also the carrier to blame in such situations.

Thanks so much, I'll complete it later. Got one last question, I know its out of this thread but couldn't find the right answer in other forum. Videos are not working as well and I haven't got a clue on how I can play music with this custom ROM in my SD card.
Please help me on this. Thanks alot!
Just install MX player from playstore for videos and, isn't there a music player already provided in the Rom(can't remember).if not, download poweramp from playstore.
