can I transfer s2 memo notes to the note 2 ?
I backed up using kies my s2 but the note 2 won't restore anything but the log only
It was a week ago I kept looking for someone to ask but I didn't seem to find anyone having the same thingy here
Well my contract is finally coming to an end (August 2013), I am looking at the Note II my question is, if I backup all my apps, games, text messages and Swiftkey dictionary using Titanium Backup will I be able to import them into the Note II without any problems? Or does the Note II use a different kind of APK/File?
Also will it be better to wait for the Note III?
I'm sure you'd be fine with TiBu.
Regarding the note 3, If it were me id wait

All Android devices use the same APK files.
Limitations are mostly software (newer apps on old Android versions) and sometimes hardware due to lack of a particular sensor on the device the app needs.
In your case, you should be OK.
As for backup/restore using TiBu, as long as you plan on rooting your Note II, you'll be fine.
Otherwise, you may want to look at Helium as your backup/restore solution : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.backup
The Note has a locked bootloader FYI. And from my experience with my dad's Note II the stock TW has way more bloatware than I remember the S3 having. I'd get an S4 instead (or wait for the S5).

Are you already rooted? If not, while rooting you will be loosing all that data you want to back up. If you're not rooted, then go fetch Helium from the play store. It can back up all that sort of thing without root.
Do a backup in recovery on your s3 save to external SD card. Root your note 2 download nandroid backup in play store on your note 2, insert SD card. I have a note 2 and a s3 and I'm constantly backing up all my data and switching phones every couple weeks. Nandroid backup, backs up apps data texts and call records. If u have any questions just message me. I do this all the time without any problems

I am rooted already and have nandroid back up. What Mike said has me thinking is the Note bootloader locked? Or will I be able to unlock it via Odin?
There is a sticky for other device discussions
Is there any way to recover deleted photos? Pics is all I am looking for nothing else. Something was deleted a few weeks ago and I want it back. I have tried plugging into pc and running recovery programs but none will see the gn2 only the local hard drives.
I have not tried it but look at this thread. Good luck manhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1994705

Hi,
So I got my new Galaxy Note 3 from T-Mobile yesterday, and I was just playing with it and stumbled on to 'software upgrade' section and just gave a shot even though I know there is no update out yet. But it said 'Your device has been modified, not available for software upgrade'. It is very odd because I literally didn't do any modification (i.e. rooting or flashing). All I did was change some background picture and add some SNS accounts. Does anyone know how to resolve this issue?
Thanks!
Call tmoble and say 'WTF!'

Ok haha so It turns out that the problem was sd card. Apparently if you have sd card in the note 3 it thinks the device status is "costum". But when I took sd card out and rebooted, the status went back to official and when I tested software update it just said my device is up to date. So just FYI, if anyone is experiencing same issue.
Mine says that the device is up to date.
thanks for the info, i was about to call tmobile to say WTF !, this is my 2nd Note 3, 1st one after i installing my story album (what ever its called ) my note 3 UI started to crash all the time, even after a factory reset, so i took it down to tmobile and they replaced me with a new one.:cyclops:
Hello ,
Recently my wife got S7 upgrading from S6. I tried to use Smartswitch but I faced couple issues that I want to avoid when I upgrade from Note5 to Note7.
- Her S6 64GB has around 50 GB of Media. When I tried to use smartswitch, the internal memory got filled up and paused everything until i move some Media to MIcroSD. I tried to find different ways to move it to SD but no luck and I ended up using my PC through the normal method of copy /Paste.
- Another issue I faced is that the pictures lost its Meta data which result in pictures and videos got mixed up (recently taken vs old media).
If anyway know a better way to transfer my media to Note7, I would really appreciate the help.
Regards
Yathani
