get back to stock but keep Unlocked bootloader - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

so im on a Random CM 10.1 Rom and i would like to get back to sense stock gingerbread, i would like to keep the bootloader unlocked still but i can reunlock it if i have to.

You might want to try the stock images at pvillecomp dot com (originally from the legendary Doug Piston), or http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2141642
Good luck.

Thought I'd add that when I flashed the Froyo stock image from pvillecomp via HBOOT, I retained s-off. (Unfortunately I have not had luck flashing any of the Gingerbread images yet).

stuck at htc screen

Firstly an introduction:
I bought my phone on Thursday so i'm pretty much a noob at this phone, had a pair of android phones before this so i'm not totally inexperienced.
At first I rooted my phone and installed a custom recovery, with that i installed CM10. This was working fine until some random soft reboot, nothing weird because it is a nightly and not stable software. Anyhow i saw the sense jelly bean rom and wanted to have a go at that. The process of getting the new hboot caused me nearly all the soft bricks on the horizon. I solved all these softbricks through some very helpfull posts on this site.
Anyhow i decided I prefer a vanilla rom so much so I wanted to go back to the CM10 rom with the new HBOOT, also i used the Bricked boot.img . Now when i start my phone it gets stuck at the quietly brilliant screen, I know its stuck when the screen dims. Also i was stupid enough to make no backups. When I try the second post in this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599748 it gets failed messages, could this be because of the new HBOOT?
Does any of you know how to get my phone working again? Your help is much appreciated!
I think if you have upgraded your Hboot and not made a backup of your previous rom, then you may have to stick with the JB rom you had.
reflash the boot.img via fastboot of the JB rom you have then reinstall the rom.zip via recovery and all should be good.
Can I never go back to CM10?
That worked btw thanks very much!

Also I think you can flash an ice cream sandwich custom Rom or nandroid back up, you just can't execute a ruu anymore as the updated hboot won't allow you.

You're pretty much stuck with the sense jb ROM's for now.
no one has successfully booted a aosp/cm10 rom on the new Hboot.
there are dev's working a way to get aosp and cm10 ROM's booted on the newest firmware

Nandroid backups arent just an annoyance, they're bloody necessary.
Try getting getting a stock image and ADB pushing it.
As of now, there is no way to downgrade hboot or revert back to ics rom after installing a jb sense rom. Now all you can do is wait.

if you install cm10 and flash its boot.img it should work (could have bugs)
new hboot only affects RUU installers and stock roms/ota's released by htc
Summary: New Hboot = Sense+ ROMs or any custom ROM

[Q] HTC Desire HD. Need help! Setup screen vanishes.

Hi XDA team,
I recently have a working Desire HD phone. Then I had this app that made my phone hang on startup. So i tried doing a factory reset. Then after doing a factory reset it gets stuck on the HTC logo. So i tried to go on recovery and wipe out the cache. Now when i try to open my phone it goes through the booting process but when it is supposed to go to the setup screen (the screen where you should be able to pick out the language to be used, wifi setup, network setup etc) the setup option just flashes for a split second then disappears. I have checked my android phone on bootloader and discovered that it is already rooted. Any idea what i should do to have this functioning again?
Where did u factory reset?recovery or bootloader?
---------- Post added at 01:15 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:08 PM ----------
Also need to know if you have unlocked bootloader. S on or s off?
I did the factory reset on the bootloader menu. then after that i tried booting my phone then it gets stuck on the HTC logo screen. So i went to the bootloader menu again and now go to recovery. Then did a wipe/clean cache. After that i rebooted the phone again. Now it goes through the booting process but now as i said above the setup screen that should have been in the screen is now just flashing for a split second then disappears. So now i'm stuck again and has no way to access my phone.

The problem is you did it via bootloader. You should never do that. It corrupts your SD card. Always factory reset via phone settings or recovery
---------- Post added at 01:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:47 PM ----------
My advice is to get a new card and put a ROM in it via a PC...then place in your device and run the ROM via recovery.
---------- Post added at 01:51 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:49 PM ----------
If that fails, you'll probably need to run a ruu.
I have removed the SD card prior to doing factory reset. So i dont think the SD card was corrupted or something. Anything i can do to have my phone functioning again?
In any case,NEVER reset via bootloader..
---------- Post added at 01:57 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:54 PM ----------
I would download a known working ROM to your SD card via the PC and then put card into device...boot into recovery via button combo.. Do a full wipe again..factory reset...clean cache partition...wipe system...wipe dalvik and then flash ROM. Don't flash any gapps. Let's get this phone operational. Lol

I am from Philippines. Can you give a step by step procedure wherein i could follow it and have it done at my home? The device is currently unusable since i cannot go through the setup part of the phone since the setup menu screen just passes for a split second and vanishes. It would really be great to have step by step things i could follow to proceed in fixing my phone.

I'm on Android 5 Dev Edition, CID 11111111, HBOOT 3.19, how do i get Marshmellow?

Getting confused trying going back to Stock

Hey guys,
i have a european HTC 10 with root, stock android 6, s-on and Team Win Recovery Projekt 3.0.2-6. I wanna go to full stock (stock recovery) and update to official Nougat
I googled and found people saying to use RUU. My CID is HTC_034 and I downloaded RUU zip for this CID.
I put it on my root sd card and enter downlaod mdoe wit hvol down and power, confirm with vol up and get a error that something is missing. (Edit: 19 RU_MAIN_VER_FAIL os-version in adnroid-info missing or i)
Did I do something wrong? Or is my dl corrupt?
are there other ways?
Is this way also for stock recovery?
thanks in advance

You can't get "locked" status without S-Off. You can only get "relocked" status which will show that the bootloader was once unlocked.

If it works after an RUU then there is no need to send it for repairs. It's probably from the ROM you are running or some other software related issue.

I'm aware of that, however that wasn't asked and I was expecting the next question to be about relocked status. Besides, even with s off and locked status ( which I have ) there is still a message on set up regarding the device being a test device anyway
