Battery life of my friend's wave1 is less compared to my wave2 .
about screen , both r diff. , its ur choice , but i like SC-lcd of wave2 more than amoled of 1.
about ram ,
from Tigrouzen's rom u can get 325mb on bigmem and 295mb normal, but rom is optimized enough no need to worry about ram.
u can get 2nd hand wave2 at 3.5k INR
better u go for I9000 s1 , because its having 390mb ram. , can get around 5-6k .
badadroid bugs -
gps doen't work
wave2 lockscreen having little problem , some times white screen , its small problem.

i cant spend 5-6k brother..
so i guess Wave 2 is bttr than Wave 1 right??
GPSA dsnt mattr to me..
abt lockscreen is it frequent??
S8500 is better "supported" for Android... less problems...
But again. If you have not much money to play... better think twice.
Their are stable "cheap" Android handsets also in your country I think...
To buy Wave for Android with no money is more an "Adventure"...

we definitely wont have an official ICS update, but there's a good chance the cyanogen team will port it (IF our bootloader will be unlocked). or maybe someonell port it, hopefully. but our device is definitely capable of ics, as it wont have new requirements, so keep your fingers crossed!
EDIT: looks like the defy+ will have to get the update (cuz it will have been released less than 18 months before ICS), so...

You wont get left behind in a couple of months, yet... and Defy is as capable as most of the top-end devices on the market today, all it needs is a team of good developers...

at the current rate that manufacturers are turning out new phones with better specs (dual core 1.4ghz - 1.5 ghz, 1Gb RAM, 8-12 megapixel cameras, super amoled screens with 4-5" screens, USB OTG, HDMI outputs, i dont know what they'll think of next, maybe coffee maker??), at more or less the same price, I dont think it will be a very good competitor in two years, but i think it will still be totally useable in two years.
I want to buy an Arc S very soon and i want to know if it is worth buying it now ? my budget is low because i sell my 5 month old atrix 4G + salary of 3 days working xD
The big question is if there are any bugs or consistant lags which i need to know about ?
Buy an Arc S, load it with FXP kernel and CM9, and you got a phone which can compete with the most expensive Android phones on the market.

And if i don't want a costume rom ? at least until the warranty is over...
Is it good ? does it have any bugs or lag ?
I think you should get together a little more and buy a xperia s, s I think the arc is becoming obsolete, but with the roms there until today, you'll get more out ... as I, ;p
Depends on what you want from a phone. If you're not very heavy on apps, want a nice looking phone (with cheap housing) and have a low budget - yeah, go ahead. You could give Neo (especially if you want a front facing camera) or Ray a shot, though.
Sent from my cracksperia Arc
Is it possible to Re-lock the BL ?
And the neo and ray have small screens compared to the Arc S and neo is too thick
I'll go for the Arc S Is is fast and slick with everything ? i mean dialer, sms, contacts, calendar, settings & menus, apps like whatsapp and facebook ?
How is multitasking for a single core ? good ?
Thanks
Yes, it's possible to relock the bootloader. Neo is thicker, yes, though housing is better. But I suggest you buy a protective case for Arc, because the housing is crap and if you accidentally drop the phone, you'll definitely damage the housing. And there's that tiny crack that'll develop above and below the proximity sensor regardless of how you treat your phone.
The multitasking. Well, hm. I suggest you stay on Gingerbread for that. It's a lot better than ICS on Arc. I can't really say much more as I'll be upgrading to Xperia T/TX soon for a bit more power. But overall, it's an okay phone if you don't mind crappy housing quality.

I suggest you to at least buy Xperia U... It's cheaper than Arc S (at least here in Serbia), and it has a dual-core processor, so it's better for multitasking. If 8GB of storage is enough for you and you don't need good camera, than go for it. If you don't, than buy Xperia Arc S if you can't buy Xperia P.

Hey im using arc s from past 4 months and its just AMAZING....
The only one demerit is it lacks in front camera...apart from that everythings fine...it gives a good batery bakup..ram management is good...the screen size and resolution is apt and moreover the design of the phone gives the killer look to it...it is powered with scorpion snapdragon single core processor which i feel is good moreover the novathor duel core which is equiped by the new sony xperia nxt series..
I suggest you to buy it and install cynogen mod rom in it for best use !!!
Hope this helps u !!
Your choice
IF I SUGGEST YOU THENNN(KEEPING AN ANDROID PHONE IN MIND)
1. ARC S HAS 1.4GHZ SINGLE PROCESSOR
>>>IT'S A VERY GOOD PROCESSOR AND TILL DATE IT CAN RUN EVERY ROM MADE FOR IT
<<<SUGGEST YOU TO BUY A DUAL CORE PROCESSOR ALTHOUGH QUAD CORE PROCESSORS ARE LATEST BUT DUAL CORE PROCESSOR CAN DO THE WORKS SMOOTHER THAN SINGLE CORE.
2. ARC S HAS ONLY 512MB RAM
>>>FOR RUNNING OLDER ANDROID ROM (Eg.GINGERBREAD) IT'S BEST..BUT IN LATEST RELEASE OF NEW ROMS (Eg. ICE CREAM SANDWICH OR JELLY BEAN) MORE AMOUNT OF RAM IS GOOD AS IT WOULD CAUSE LAG(DOESN'T COME UP INITIALLY BUT LATER IT'S A LAG LIKE HELLL AS YOU START DOWNLOADING MORE APPS)
<<<SUGGEST YOU TO BUY A PHONE HAVING AT LEAST 1GB OF RAM FOR A COMPLETE LAG FREE PERFORMANCE
3. ARC S HAS A BEAUTIFUL DESIGN, CAMERA AND OTHER FEATURES EXCEPT FRONT CAMERA.
IMPORTANT:-
THE BEST EXPERIENCE ON A PHONE CAN BE ACHIEVED BY A VERY GOOD ROM OPTIMIZED FOR IT. IN RECENT WITH LATEST ROMS REQUIRING HIGH END SPECS TO RUN SMOOTHLY ON ANDROID DEVICE..
AT LAST:-
PERFORMANCE IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO $$$$$.

Hello ,,
would you help me to choose the best phone for these phones in my price tag category
I want to know which Soc is more powerful , the novathor - mali 400 or the S3 - adreno 220
I am an occasional gamer , but I want a performer that can run many of the moderate to high graphic games
and is there is any difference in the performance between xperia s and xperia sl
and a last question , since all my old phones for the past 7 years were nokia , which were hard built sets , are the sony one are good built too , that can withstand long term usage and occasional falls !
( it worth mentioning that I will not change the phone for 2-3 years ahead )
thanks for your help in advance ,, and sorry for my week english

Xperia S is better. Definitely. I tried multiple games on it and it runs everything without a problem.
There is no difference between S and SL, the SL is overclocked to 1.7ghz, which is doable on the Xperia S with unlocking its bootloader and flashing a custom kernel.
Sony has a quite solid build, the design is perfect, and it will probably serve you for even more than 2-3 years.

does that overclocking whether by sony in SL or by flashing in xperia S damage the processor with time , or it is a fake myth ?
and does the xperia S comes with ICS out of the box or still GB ?
thanks for your great help

I don't think overclocking would cause any problem but you'll not always need them. Yes, it comes with ICS out of the box
P or S? Go for Xperia S.. It is amazing!

People always have problems with phones, but overall the Xperia S is a solid value. Choose it over P that is for sure, unless P is much cheaper.

I heared that sony release a program that flash the phones to factory ROM , is that true ? and does that mean that you can try custom rom and if any problems occur you can simply return to the original one ??

Yeah, it's called Flashtool. And yes, also.
I have an additional question , is it worth to pay extra budget for S4 krait phone as HTC one S ? or S3 1.5 ghz in xperia S can fullfil my needs for 2-3 years of full experience of android platform and occasional moderate to pre heavy gaming ??

- Android development
- Latest price(if u are malaysian, if not just ignore)
- Performance
- Battery life(coz im abit heave user)
- Anything regarding problems.
Thank you.:highfive:
hurm... about acro S? i think this phone can be consider as goodlah. becoz the features of this phone that can be in the water also can be in the flour. hehe
about the interface... i think you can use mr G for more pros and cons.
as a user of the phone, what i can say is.... its awesomeee phone but of courselah some time it has some lag on it. the pice in malaysia is around rm1300 original set. and make sure it is original lor coz the screen is more brighter than the ap set. AP set is kinda yellowish tint on the screen.
gaming---- no problem man,, so far NOVA 3, WILD BLOOD, DEAD TRIGGER, N SHADOW GUN INSTALL IN IT. Love it. worth it.
but if u can waitttt a moment, just take the SXZ zastttttttttt..-----=====quad core processorrrrr..
Moderators/Admin, please add an
"Original Android Development" Topic for galaxy grand duos
And please remove it from ''Legacy and Low activity devices'' section.
As many developers are working for grand and more roms are pouring in every day.
You may want to PM one of the moderators...
Umm...i also agree with the point... But some part of me says that we cant move it from low end..
I mean..think abt it this way brothr..they kept it in low end devices , because of its specifications...(hardware limitations)..
Poor broadcomm chipset is the main reason..and so is resolution...so is in mid activities (correct me if i m wrong brother).
I mean..even if we get kitkat, and many amazing kitkat based roms...
I dont think still it makes our device specs powerful right? Still we are having same broadcomm processor...same specs... Just the soul in changed ..(thanks to all devs).
I mean..galaxy s2 is maybe not in low end devices right?(i cud ve wrong, havnt checkd ..i m 99% sure it isnt)..bcoz it got more performance chipset and its resolution is perfect w.r.t its screen size...(thats why many heavy games are officially supported for it ,while we haven't got that cake piece )..
I really like ur point and even i wud wish this cud happen... But truth to be told...device is not that powerful..(just the soul is ..kitkat power ..)..

The power of the device doesn't affect why our forums is in the low activity section... It is just because of that, it has low development activity. I still see LG Optimus Black forums in the main page, not the legacy or low activities, despite its old age (almost 4 years) and low spec for todays standard (1 GHz single core with 512MB RAM). That is because there are lots of people who just can't get rid of using and modifying it.
Now I know that Grand has a large userbase (infact it is one of the best selling phones in some countries) but it doesn't mean that there is a lot of development interest for this device. The vast percentage of the market for Grand is ordinary people who doesn't even know or care about their Android's version number. This is in contrast with the Nexus 5 buyers, for example.
Moreover dual SIM phone = low coverage in western media because no western carrier really wants a dual SIM phone = low popularity in XDA
But, at least the moderators should add a "Original Android Development'' Section
