Hello ,,
would you help me to choose the best phone for these phones in my price tag category
I want to know which Soc is more powerful , the novathor - mali 400 or the S3 - adreno 220
I am an occasional gamer , but I want a performer that can run many of the moderate to high graphic games
and is there is any difference in the performance between xperia s and xperia sl
and a last question , since all my old phones for the past 7 years were nokia , which were hard built sets , are the sony one are good built too , that can withstand long term usage and occasional falls !
( it worth mentioning that I will not change the phone for 2-3 years ahead )
thanks for your help in advance ,, and sorry for my week english

Xperia S is better. Definitely. I tried multiple games on it and it runs everything without a problem.
There is no difference between S and SL, the SL is overclocked to 1.7ghz, which is doable on the Xperia S with unlocking its bootloader and flashing a custom kernel.
Sony has a quite solid build, the design is perfect, and it will probably serve you for even more than 2-3 years.

does that overclocking whether by sony in SL or by flashing in xperia S damage the processor with time , or it is a fake myth ?
and does the xperia S comes with ICS out of the box or still GB ?

I don't think overclocking would cause any problem but you'll not always need them. Yes, it comes with ICS out of the box
P or S? Go for Xperia S.. It is amazing!

People always have problems with phones, but overall the Xperia S is a solid value. Choose it over P that is for sure, unless P is much cheaper.

I heared that sony release a program that flash the phones to factory ROM , is that true ? and does that mean that you can try custom rom and if any problems occur you can simply return to the original one ??

Yeah, it's called Flashtool. And yes, also.
I have an additional question , is it worth to pay extra budget for S4 krait phone as HTC one S ? or S3 1.5 ghz in xperia S can fullfil my needs for 2-3 years of full experience of android platform and occasional moderate to pre heavy gaming ??

I want to buy an Arc S very soon and i want to know if it is worth buying it now ? my budget is low because i sell my 5 month old atrix 4G + salary of 3 days working xD
The big question is if there are any bugs or consistant lags which i need to know about ?
Buy an Arc S, load it with FXP kernel and CM9, and you got a phone which can compete with the most expensive Android phones on the market.

And if i don't want a costume rom ? at least until the warranty is over...
Is it good ? does it have any bugs or lag ?
I think you should get together a little more and buy a xperia s, s I think the arc is becoming obsolete, but with the roms there until today, you'll get more out ... as I, ;p
Depends on what you want from a phone. If you're not very heavy on apps, want a nice looking phone (with cheap housing) and have a low budget - yeah, go ahead. You could give Neo (especially if you want a front facing camera) or Ray a shot, though.
Sent from my cracksperia Arc
Is it possible to Re-lock the BL ?
And the neo and ray have small screens compared to the Arc S and neo is too thick
I'll go for the Arc S Is is fast and slick with everything ? i mean dialer, sms, contacts, calendar, settings & menus, apps like whatsapp and facebook ?
How is multitasking for a single core ? good ?
Thanks
Yes, it's possible to relock the bootloader. Neo is thicker, yes, though housing is better. But I suggest you buy a protective case for Arc, because the housing is crap and if you accidentally drop the phone, you'll definitely damage the housing. And there's that tiny crack that'll develop above and below the proximity sensor regardless of how you treat your phone.
The multitasking. Well, hm. I suggest you stay on Gingerbread for that. It's a lot better than ICS on Arc. I can't really say much more as I'll be upgrading to Xperia T/TX soon for a bit more power. But overall, it's an okay phone if you don't mind crappy housing quality.
Sent from my cracksperia Arc
I suggest you to at least buy Xperia U... It's cheaper than Arc S (at least here in Serbia), and it has a dual-core processor, so it's better for multitasking. If 8GB of storage is enough for you and you don't need good camera, than go for it. If you don't, than buy Xperia Arc S if you can't buy Xperia P.

Hey im using arc s from past 4 months and its just AMAZING....
The only one demerit is it lacks in front camera...apart from that everythings fine...it gives a good batery bakup..ram management is good...the screen size and resolution is apt and moreover the design of the phone gives the killer look to it...it is powered with scorpion snapdragon single core processor which i feel is good moreover the novathor duel core which is equiped by the new sony xperia nxt series..
I suggest you to buy it and install cynogen mod rom in it for best use !!!
Hope this helps u !!
Your choice
IF I SUGGEST YOU THENNN(KEEPING AN ANDROID PHONE IN MIND)
1. ARC S HAS 1.4GHZ SINGLE PROCESSOR
>>>IT'S A VERY GOOD PROCESSOR AND TILL DATE IT CAN RUN EVERY ROM MADE FOR IT
<<<SUGGEST YOU TO BUY A DUAL CORE PROCESSOR ALTHOUGH QUAD CORE PROCESSORS ARE LATEST BUT DUAL CORE PROCESSOR CAN DO THE WORKS SMOOTHER THAN SINGLE CORE.
2. ARC S HAS ONLY 512MB RAM
>>>FOR RUNNING OLDER ANDROID ROM (Eg.GINGERBREAD) IT'S BEST..BUT IN LATEST RELEASE OF NEW ROMS (Eg. ICE CREAM SANDWICH OR JELLY BEAN) MORE AMOUNT OF RAM IS GOOD AS IT WOULD CAUSE LAG(DOESN'T COME UP INITIALLY BUT LATER IT'S A LAG LIKE HELLL AS YOU START DOWNLOADING MORE APPS)
<<<SUGGEST YOU TO BUY A PHONE HAVING AT LEAST 1GB OF RAM FOR A COMPLETE LAG FREE PERFORMANCE
3. ARC S HAS A BEAUTIFUL DESIGN, CAMERA AND OTHER FEATURES EXCEPT FRONT CAMERA.
IMPORTANT:-
THE BEST EXPERIENCE ON A PHONE CAN BE ACHIEVED BY A VERY GOOD ROM OPTIMIZED FOR IT. IN RECENT WITH LATEST ROMS REQUIRING HIGH END SPECS TO RUN SMOOTHLY ON ANDROID DEVICE..
AT LAST:-
PERFORMANCE IS DIRECTLY PROPORTIONAL TO $$$$$.

Hello [email protected]
Im a old SE Xperia user i have used x8, x10i before, i dont know what went wrong with me i shifted to samsung Galaxy tab 6200 and i dont really like it much, i was happy with my xperia. Tomorrow morning iam going to buy new phone so yes Please tell me what new xperia phones r good these days? i mean whats good to mess around..
[email protected] & Cheers!
budget?
around 25 thousand RS
you could go for xperia S which is available at 25K..But i personally didnt like the design...hardware wise it is good..next option would be Xperia P..it is the smaller brother of xperia s..
Thanks a lot bro! but even i feel the same design isnt that good, i dont like the bottom part of xperia s, i was thinking of Arc S ? what do u think? i know its old model but it has ICS and i like the design. if u think thats a good phone. Please tell me a few things when u have time.
1 - does the flash tool work with arc s?
2 - can i get the stock ics rom on xda? incase i mess up with a custom rom
arc s has a pretty good support on xda..u will get everything you want..u can use flashtools and there are many custom ROMs and stock based ROMs here on xda. Arc s is a sexy phone...which can handle normal daily loads..and it is also very cheap. but only thing is it is old now..dual core smarphones have conquered the mobile market..but still arc s processor is quiet fast and can easily be overclocked till 1.6Ghz

Reading about them, you wont see a lot of diferences between them... Only you can see that SL have 0.2MHz of proccesor.. (it could mean that SL drains battery quickly, obviusly a bit quickly). All other things are similar, and you could lose buying the SL beacuse, like you said, SL lack the same comunity development.
If you find out, that you could install Xperia S roms in an SL phone... Go to SL jajaja
Actually thats 400mhz Difference, 200mhz per core right, and XSL have Bluetooth 3.0, and XS have 2.1
And I read that newer XS which does not have any Yellow Tint, Quick Charge has been removed?(hardware related?), atleast on my XSL i can confirm that it is working if you have EP850/850
And according to reviews, like GSMArena, Photo's and Video is slightly better on XSL(software related?)
Now I'm just wondering if I could install all the wonderful ROM in Xperia S Development box for my SL ??

Bluetooth 3.0?? I'll see again and in a few post says 2.1 :S where have you seen it? http://www.smart-gsm.com/moviles/sony-xperia-sl
400MHz with the same battery (1750mAh) is equal to say that drains quickly... i dont know it but i think it.

Well, I still say 'duck' those 200 MHz and bluetooth!
If you're asking for XDA purposes; get the S
If you're a douchebag that only gets a phone to brag in front of friends; get the SL (I'm not judging anyone, but the only people I know that have the SL are douchebags (no offence to the cool guys at XDA that have the SL)).
If I were you, I will go for S. I dont care about rom development but custom kernel are very important for me. If XS kernel can be use on XSL, then I will say XSL.
But I'm now stuck weather to pick between Xperia S and Xperia P.
Xperia S got HD screen, better battery capacity and processer. But the capacitive button really annoying me.
In other hand Xperia P surround by aluminium unibody, power by WhiteMagic and capacitive button are reside in transparent strip. But it have low battery capacity.
Guy please help me which one do you prefer.
Thanks.

You have to think also about applications and games you already have bought through playstore, i read that some who upgraded his 2011 xperia(qualcomm) to xperia p(st-ericsson) have a lot of incompatibilites, specially games. So for me i decided to buy XSL, hd screen, 12mp camera, bigger screen, bigger battery, and better cpu 1.7ghz, and of course most of my apps that i bought from google play are compatible.
About the capacitive buttons, they are not like XP, but i got used to it, maybe live with it.

Have an SL, and Im not a DB as some have indicated..Good phone and for some reason, seems to be cheaper than the S in some cases...Running Turbo Rom2 at the moment.
I have no problem running S roms with a unlocked boot loader...

The fact is that you are speaking about stuffs you dont own apparently, and yes, the first things you said seemed to be like: I affirm this. This is it.
No, xperia S has no screen problems since ages, and has no ICS problems..
the only argument will be: price, screen size, memory, and subjective aspect: design.

From what ive read, every XS users who use OTA to ICS will encounter soo much lagginess...Bcoz of the second core disabled...
If its not true then its good to go though...No hardfeelings bro....
So which should be the best ? Xs or what?
XS got great support from XDA. but if you like bigger screen then may go for iON. But for a phone anything bigger than 4 - 4.3 is too much for me.
XPERIA LT26i has a reasonable speed/size internal flash at 32GB, misses out on MicroSD card, but really not a problem to hang a 32GB USB flash off a MicroUSB cable for most people.
XPERIA S is mostly cheaper
XPERIA ion has, LTE or HSDPA giving higher mobile speeds, a bigger battery and microSD card, but lose ~16GB internal flash.
The screen on both are much the same with XPERIA S having ~342 ppi pixel density and XPERIA ion less as it's screen is stretched out.
XPERIA acro S has 16GB internal memory, MicroSD AND is able to go swimming.
Firmware wise plus or minus a MicroSD the devices are all much the same with same processing hardware.
For all these devices JB(yet to be released) is mooted to have a good raft of features coming such as wireless media broadcast to compatible devices and etc
So this gives many of the software features of the new phones if you're happy to live with a ~1.7GHz Dual Core processor and an Adreno 220.
As already stated their will probably be more development around the XPERIA LT26i as it was part of the ASOP before Sony took over this development.
Go for the Xperia SL, with the latest firmware update it's fixed most of the problems. Only thing I dislike is the overheating and stock ROM forcing you to under clock your CPU during heavy use. With general everyday usage you rarely see this happen though.

No, Xperia S isn't overheating. You can surf the Net and you won't burn your hands Only when you are playing good games(e.g. Real Racing 3) phone can be hot but it isn't 100 degrees and you would be able to play normally without problems. After a while you won't see that phone is hot.

Used xperia S around 14000 INR
new Xperia L around 17000INR
I use Ray and I think low PPI screen of L wouldn't suit me (ray has 297ppi) but I also think L is a bit beer in performance.
Does HD games still work well on S? any lags on MIUI v5? (It's the most heavy ROM ATM, right?)

Xperia S is an old device, newest games are working on our device, but not on the highest framerate and every effects. Plus probably we won't see any more updates from sony.
Xperia L is not a good choice either, I suggest you start looking for other phones
I'd gather a little but more of money and get another better option instead of any of those two. Can be an Xperia, but a newer one.
