[SOLVED] Factory Reset boots to Stock Android Setup - 8.9" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have to send my Kindle Fire HD 8.9 back to Amazon. I had twrp and a 2nd bootloader installed on it. I did the recovery and reinstalled the backup images that I made prior to installing the bootloader. That all worked fine. When I did a factory reset on the device when it rebooted it booted to a stock android setup wizard that crashes and has no ADB function. I have tried to erase all the partitions and reinstall the images through that I made through fastboot but it still boots straight to the stock android setup wizard. Any help on this would be appreciated.
EDIT: I resolved the issue. I used the images from the KFHD_SRTv2.0- 8.1.3 tool and it worked. I then downloaded the stock update from Amazon to update to the latest version.

kindle fire in boot loop. Howto for restoring with fastboot?

I wanted to get 4.2.2 on my fire2, so I went throught the tutorials to root and install twrp recovery which worked great. I downloaded the CM10.1 sgt7 and gapps for the fire 2 in the dev section and proceeded to reboot into recovery. I wiped the system and flashed the rom and gaps, wiped cache/dalvik and hit reboot.
dreaded kindle fire boot loop. The only thing I can think is that the rom DL was corrupted. It really didn't take long to complete the flash in twrp, probably less than 10 seconds. I really should have checked the md5.
OK, so I get a fastboot cable online and it shows up today. I can't seem to locate a tutorial of how to restore with fastboot though... can someone point me to a link?
Thanks,
-J

Can you get into recovery?
Always factory reset when flashing a ROM that is completely different from the one already installed, or you will run into a bootloop.
I was able to get it back. Been running 422 for a few months. I had a bad Roman do from what I can tell. I was not able to get to recovery without restoring with a fastboot cable.

[Q] Kindle Fire without OS stuck at boot logo

Hi all, I really tried searching everywhere in the forum to solve my issue and I couldn't find anything specific, so I'll try and explain what's happened to me:
This is the first time I tried to install custom roms in my kindle, so I instaled TWRP and FFF and went to install the Rom I downloaded. I had an error message and just couldn't install it... So I wen't to restore my stock backup and just couldn't either. I then tried to install the stock firmware and what happened is that it didn't install the stock firmware properly!
So I'm stuck at the boot logo image, with no OS and no TWRP, FFF, Root or anything... I connect the kindle to my pc (windows) and open kindle fire utility (0.9.9) and I get ADB Status: Online but Boot Status: Unknown... When I try to reinstall TWRP, KFU tries to reboot it in fast boot mode but gets stuck at waiting for device...
How the hell can I get access to my kindle so I can install TWRP again???

I'm guessing you didn't factory reset in recovery before restoring the stock firmware? You need a factory cable.
same issue but I have twrp and fff on mine
When i got the kindle it had nipad ( everything was in chineese) and stock rom (english) installed. the stock rom kept having errors. I installed twrp and fff on the kindle. during the stock install I must have wiped the os some how. when I try to flash the rom it errors, see attached picture. now it won't go past the kindle fire logo unless i put it in recovery. Thank you for any help.

Kindle Fire stuck on Splash Screen with No Animation

I've tried to flash back to stock with TWRP 2.2.2.1 I believe the version and I flashed the official stock 6.3.2 and everything appeared to go well when I noticed it stayed on that screen for a bit longer than it should and it never booted up properly. The devices is recognized by my PC in the name 'kindle' so ADB drivers are working properly and my device is not bricked completely :silly:
Did you do a factory wipe before install?
No reason to install 6.3.2 anyways, once it connects to wifi it will download and auto install 6.3.3.
Think you will need to flash fff bootloader/twrp and try again, or try my prerooted 6.3.3 zip

Bootloop after downgrade from L Preview..

Hey, I have an issue with my tablet after I wanted to go back to kitkat from the L Preview.
I had 4.4.4 and decided I'd like to try out the L preview
So I downloaded the img from Google and flashed it via fastboot, worked perfectly fine but not as stable in apps as it was on kk.
So, I downloaded the latest factory image from the Google Developer Site, extracted it and ran the flash_all.bat
Seemed to flash ok, no errors, rebooted and started to boot but it only goes as far as the spinning boot logo. No further.
After leaving it a good hour or so I decided it clearly wasn't going to boot I went back into the bootloader and tried to get into stock recovery mode but after rebooting it just stays at the white Google logo..
So, I tried to flash TWRP via fastboot. Again no errors, successful flashed but just like before it sticks at the Google logo and never boots the recovery..
I even tried the "fastboot boot recovery.img" but then it just freezes on the bootloader.
I've also tried the 4.4.3 img.. same happens.
Now if I reflash the L Preview img via fastboot it sticks at the Google logo and didn't even reach the boot logo!
Sounds to me like the partitions have gotten corrupt? Though the imgs are flashing successfully without error so I don't think it's that..
But.. recovery partition is broken as I can't get into recovery at all, and it freezes if I try.
Anyone any idea what could have happened?
All I did was flash the KK factory image over L, just like I flashed L over KK and it worked fine.
All the guides online do the same thing to downgrade L to KK.
Is it bricked? Can it be recovered?
I still have bootloader access with fastboot..
Any help is greatly appreciated!
I finally managed to enter the stock recovery and it appears that the /cache partition was damaged or corrupt. Strangely it would get corrupted each time I flashed the factory image, even flashing the cache.img directly..
However it seems to have fixed by doing a factory reset and /cache then formats correctly and android booted fine after this :victory::laugh:
As you see in the image, when entering recovery I was presented with a bunch of errors regarding the cache.
Tried to wipe cache but that fails.
Did a factory reset and cache seemed to format fine.
Did another wipe cache and this time it completes without the error I got before.
Then rebooted, Android began booting and thankfully it's now working fine again!

AFTV1 - Unroot

I ve been trying to find a way to UNROOT my Fire TV-1 on v5.2.1.1 which has TWRP boot menu.
I was told the easiest way would be to flash one of the first pre-rooted rbox rom's so i picked
51.1.4.0_514006420+updated ROM and flashed it using TWRP and did a delete of the cache/dalvik and
rebooted the system.
It went thru the setup and after connecting to my wifi it downloaded the latest update
and rebooted into TWRP again. I am on 51.1.4.0 now and not sure what do i do to get to STOCK
version with the latest update. - Plz help.
Edit: I ve tried to flash the latest version of the prerooted ROM 5.2.1.1_r1 and it just sits at the Amazon Fire TV logo screen after bootup.
