Bootloop after downgrade from L Preview.. - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Hey, I have an issue with my tablet after I wanted to go back to kitkat from the L Preview.
I had 4.4.4 and decided I'd like to try out the L preview
So I downloaded the img from Google and flashed it via fastboot, worked perfectly fine but not as stable in apps as it was on kk.
So, I downloaded the latest factory image from the Google Developer Site, extracted it and ran the flash_all.bat
Seemed to flash ok, no errors, rebooted and started to boot but it only goes as far as the spinning boot logo. No further.
After leaving it a good hour or so I decided it clearly wasn't going to boot I went back into the bootloader and tried to get into stock recovery mode but after rebooting it just stays at the white Google logo..
So, I tried to flash TWRP via fastboot. Again no errors, successful flashed but just like before it sticks at the Google logo and never boots the recovery..
I even tried the "fastboot boot recovery.img" but then it just freezes on the bootloader.
I've also tried the 4.4.3 img.. same happens.
Now if I reflash the L Preview img via fastboot it sticks at the Google logo and didn't even reach the boot logo!
Sounds to me like the partitions have gotten corrupt? Though the imgs are flashing successfully without error so I don't think it's that..
But.. recovery partition is broken as I can't get into recovery at all, and it freezes if I try.
Anyone any idea what could have happened?
All I did was flash the KK factory image over L, just like I flashed L over KK and it worked fine.
All the guides online do the same thing to downgrade L to KK.
Is it bricked? Can it be recovered?
I still have bootloader access with fastboot..
Any help is greatly appreciated!

I finally managed to enter the stock recovery and it appears that the /cache partition was damaged or corrupt. Strangely it would get corrupted each time I flashed the factory image, even flashing the cache.img directly..
However it seems to have fixed by doing a factory reset and /cache then formats correctly and android booted fine after this :victory::laugh:
As you see in the image, when entering recovery I was presented with a bunch of errors regarding the cache.
Tried to wipe cache but that fails.
Did a factory reset and cache seemed to format fine.
Did another wipe cache and this time it completes without the error I got before.
Then rebooted, Android began booting and thankfully it's now working fine again!

[Q] Helping with bootloop

Hi guys! I have a problem. I had paranoid android as rom and it worked great! Some days ago while i was using Facebook app there was an overloading of memory (i think) and there was the reset of the Nexus. From that moment the cellphone is in bootloop. I can access in the recovery (CWM). I tried some methods:
1)in recovery mode i tried to wipe everything but nothing
2) i used nexus root toolkit but nothing... also enabling the option softbrick/bootloop
3)using gnex toolkit... the same
4)using Odin too but nothing to do
What can i do ??
Thanks
PS: all these methods that i tried seem to work but when i turn on the phone it is always in bootloop -.-
try flashing the system in recovery or in fastboot mode?

Same problem here
Am facing the same problem here.
Was on cm11 and one fine day without any issues got into a boot loop. My phone is encrypted, so during boot, it asks the password and even logs into the phone, but within 5 seconds, it goes into a reboot.
Tried almost everything i could find.
erasing/formatting from fastboot - shows success but logs into cm11 again with bootloop
Trying to flash stock - everything shows success but still back to cm11 when rebooted
trying to format mke2fs -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 from recovery- still nothing
flashing through odin - no change.
The crazy part is, everywhere it shows success and when it finally boots system, its booting cm11 and asks for password to decrypt data. And after booting goes into a reboot.
The only place i see any failure is when trying to format /data from twrp. It says its not able to mount the partition.
Any pointers anybody? Can't think of anything else which i can do to fix this issue. :crying:
I had same probleme after install lollilop rom:
[ROM][5.0.1/LRX22C][AOSP] AOSP Lollipop: a wee better than stock.
1 day use and bootloops, everything i do seems ok but it always bootloop without changes !!!
1)in recovery mode i tried to wipe everything but nothing
2) i used nexus root toolkit but nothing... also enabling the option softbrick/bootloop
3)using gnex toolkit... the same
4)using Odin too but nothing to do
If anyone get a solution ?
I had same probleme
I had same probleme after install lollilop rom FML-AOSP-5.0-20141207 Recovery: CWM V6.0.5.1
I've tried everything from wiping erasing and reflashing & reflashing data, wiping cache, davlik cache, system, internal storage. I did the factory reset in CWM recovery to wugfresh toolkit's "flash stock+unroot" with odin mode All finished successfully according to fastboot , recovery , odin but a reboot showed the system in the same state as before.

twrp causes bootloop

Hey everyone, i got a neat little problem with my one X.
I wanted to install Resurrection Remix LP v5.5.0 according to this Thread.
So first of all I flashed twrp 2.6.3.0 to my phone and tried to install RR 5.5.0., which threw me an error (because of layout differences).
I moved on by flashing another recovery twrp2811.BiG to my phone and booted into it, np. So i wiped everything, I think it was the advanced wipe option, I ticked every checkbox and swiped to wipe.
After a short time my phone blackscreened back into the bootloader and when I tried to enter recovery again, it displays the twrp logo for a short time, then crashes and reboots.
Since theres no Android to boot, it repeats it's bootloop. I tried flashing twrp2853-BiG, twrp-2.6.3.0-endeavoru,twrp-2.6.1.0-endeavoru. Fastboot flashes the recoveries and right before my phone restarts it even shows the correct "recovery splash screen" according to the current recovery image flashed.
When I flash recovery-clockwork-touch-6.0.4.8-endeavoru and boot into recovery everythin works, but I can't manage to mount my USB storage anymore.
But that almost doesn't matter since I need twrpXXXXBiG to flash the latest Resurrection Rom, but I cant get any twrp recovery back to work (erase cache didn't help at all).

Just had an similar issue,
Try flashing first boot.img from the rom you will flash
then flash the recovery twrp big
then do the wipes ..
then flash boot.img and then rom
I thought this worked for me. (i flashed with the unboxed rom)
Just tried it, didn't work for me.

Unable to boot after unlocking bootloader and installing TWRP

Yesterday I decided to root my Nexus 7 2013 Wifi running stock 6.0.1 (build MOB30X). I first unlocked the bootloader, then immediately after that I flashed TWRP (twrp-3.0.2-0-flo.img). When I booted up, it would got stuck on a loop with TWRP running OpenRecoveryScript, saying something about unable to mount /data and renaming something, then reboot into TWRP again.
I did some research and it seemed I had to use a multirom TWRP version instead, so I went ahead and flashed it. Now I can go into TWRP, but when booting up I got stuck in the booting animation (the four spinning circles)
How can I fix this?

Just run these two commands:
Code:
fastboot format cache
fastboot format userdata
Don't worry, you have lost all your data already while unlocking it.
The first boot and the booting animation will be initially longer than usual.
Incidentally, no need to use multirom-TWRP anymore because TWRP v3+ has been properly updated.
I actually solved this myself before k23m's reply by flashing the stock rom (MOB30X), then completed the initial setup, then reflashed TWRP (twrp-3.0.2-0-flo.img, not the multirom version). After that I booted up then restarted into recovery but then realized that TWRP had been wiped (only the android with the red triangle showing). So I re-flashed TWRP again and this time rebooted directly into recovery, and renamed the file recovery-from-boot.p into recovery-from-boot.backup. Then I flashed su and all went well.

Soft brick that won't quit

Was trying to update the supersu binary by installing the updated zip in recovery. On reboot it was stuck in a boot loop. First off nothing else worked, then fastboot worked and then 10 mins later twrp recovery started working. I tried to restore a backed up image but still got boot loop. Then tried to flash a rom I had on sdcard - still boot loopy. Tried to go the miflash tool root but couldn't get it to find the phone despite it appearing in explorer. Copied stock miui zip onto sc card from pc and installed but still same problem. Standard dalvik/cache wipe before and after each install. Now I'm struggling to get recovery up.
Help - haven't managed to totally brick something despite many years of tinkering. :/
PS. I can still get fastboot up. Now when I try to get recovery up the screen goes black and I have to reboot.
