Hello experts
While I research just thought I would post my issue.
I have rooted and installed CyanogenMod 10.1 dated 11-14-13 and was quite happy with it. Thought I would update to more recent stable version and downloaded cm-10.2.0-jfltetmo.zip and copied it to sdcard root.
Before doing anything wanted to test my nandroid backup set and tried to restore it to a 12-03 backup but it failed with a Boot restore error.
It appears that i lost the bootloder. It goes to Download mode when powered up. (this make me think that I have not Bricked it)
Can someone help me please?

I use the TWRP recovery and it has an option of what to backup,
one of the options it has is include "boot". (bootloader)
If that option in TWRP is not selected it will not backup "boot".
Perhaps the CWM recovery also has an option like that and it was
not selected before you started to create the nandroid backup.
The only thing you can do now is to ODIN flash the stock rom
and start from scratch including re-root.
Good luck!

Thanks for the response Misterjunky!
I used Nandroid backup tool to backup. I think but not positive that I saw the Boot option checked. There was one the was unchecked by default something starting with Yf... or something .. do not remember the term.
I connected to PC and did ODIN and it worked fine and said 'PASS' on odin screen. on reboot it again went to download mode. On top it says cannot do normal boot in red. Will keep checking for answers but if you have any suggestions please guide me.
Thank you again
Did you Odin the stock image?

This worked baseballfanz. Thank you.
Finally I am back to Stock MDL. But as others encountered WIFI doesn't want to turn on.
On another hunt for solution.
Tried FDR and wipe/restore from stock recovery. No luck yet.
Do I need to use custom recovery? If so do I need to redo (Odin the stock image)?
Thanks again in advance.

I would really like to find out if any of you figured this out??
I find myself in the same position as I'm finding that many have on here as well. I found this thread interesting because it is dealing with the Sprint Galaxy in particular. I have hosed the radio and the baseband on the Galaxy - likely the EFS parition, not sure.. at this point. It needs to be made very clear to everyone that even has a thought of flashing with this phone to make triplicate backups of the EFS partition before they turn the phone on (exxageration for affect).
That being said - I don't think that gets the rest of us anywhere. I'm a OG owner and a Bionic owner - and the first 72 hours of Samsung ownership has felt like non-stop triage to me..
I have this here.. but this really isn't the specific image for the Sprint the phones...
The link below points to a post for the IMM761 GSM+HSPA - which I believe these phones to be identical.. and since Sprint had locked code for the CDMA versions - is this one the same - in other words, is there an image out there that can be downloaded, flashed, and from there we can we can either fix the EFS and restore IMEI folder and baseband function or at least call warranty?
At this point - I can't reset the counter on the phone, I can't take it to the store (as if the 7 iployees would know what I was talking about) and I'm not about to pay $800 to learn that the EFS partition is the "short" in the term "got you by the short hairs"..
androidforums -
Heat57 says:"
It sounds as so you are on the GSM "maguro" device. In that case I suggest you download the complete ICS 4.0.4 factory image from Google at ... file. Beware! if you have a Windows PC the original download with a .tgz extension will be renamed by Windows automatically to a .tar file, which means that you'll have problems extracting it. In that case simply rename the file by changing the extension to .tgz and all will be well. Note: you'll need the Galaxy Nexus bootloader unlocked in order to flash a factory image and at the end of the procedure you can leave it unlocked and flash a Superuser file to root, if so desired. You'll need the Android SDK installed on your PC and then copy the bootloader, radio and image .img files to your ...android-sdk\platform tools-tools folder and run the adb commands in the windows command shell (note: you must flash each image in this order and wait until each image is flashed completely >bootloader >radio > image). Finally, flash the "image-soju-imm76d.zip" through your cwm recovery. You should end up with a healthy Galaxy Nexus on ICS 4.0.4 and everything working"

Hi All,
I've got Odin installed, it's working as it should, I see my T989D as "Added!!!" so I know it's connected.
Now, I'm trying to wrap my head around flashing TWRP with Odin, I believe the version of Odin I am is 1.8.5.
I've looked everywhere for instructions on flashing TWRP through Odin, but I can't find any. Nor can I find the appropriate file to flash in Odin to install TWRP, every file for TWRP is a .zip or a .img, Odin flashes .tars.
Any help is greatly appreciated, trying to recover bricked device.
Cheers!
I'm not sure if I've read anything about flashing TWRP in ODIN, but I'm sure you can follow the plentiful guides to flash CWM in ODIN. After you get a working CWM then you can flash anything else you want (including TWRP)

I think it would work if you renamed the the image to "recovery.img", compressed it in tar format, and then flashed it as PDA. I'm 99% sure it would work, unless odin needs signatures.

Hi everyone!
I have just bought a Galaxy Tab 3 Lite (SM-T110). and I had flashed TWRP and rooted it, HOWEVER, after I tried to boot into recovery using "Quick Boot", the system keeps going into Recovery no matter what.
I have tried to use Odin to reflash the recovery, and I have tried to flash a different custom ROM (StockRom-V1.1-T110) using recovery, but whenever it reboots, it just goes straight to recovery.....
How can I fix this?
Please help!

I didn't know how to just flash the kernal, so I flash the stock firmware with odin.

download THIS

SS_DL.dll whats that for
Same situation. I rooted it fine. Installed a custom rom. No issues. Then it asked to update the supersu binary. Did that and now it keeps booting into TWRP no matter what I do. Gonna start fresh and this time I'll not use TWRP to update the binary I guess.
To fix the booting in recovery
flash stock recovery with oodin
now go to stock recovery
select clear cache
it will show error (and recovery crashes) and tab will boot normally.
Hello... I recently posted a thread about a Continuous Reboot on my Tmobile Galaxy S4. I later fixed the Reboot, but still have this little problem about my TWRP not Booting up completely. I have been using TWRP since a while and it works well. It started the problem when the Reboot issue started. I have flashed the .img file with flashify and also the .tar file on Odin.. It just get stuck on the "TEAMWIN" Blue splashscreen and would not get to the Menu. I flashed CWM and it booted up... I can even flash a Zip but cannot do factory/data reset... it would restart the Device.
I really need TWRP because its mostly recommended for flashing ROMS and i need it to do a FULL wipe of my Device.
What else can i do please?
Also... would be glad if someone can point out to a .zip CWM Flashable Wipe Script... Need to get my Device FULLY WIPED!!!!

If you are sure that you have SGH-M919, and you are rooted, you can use the TWRP Manager app from the Play Store to download the most current version of TWRP and have the app install it. This is the way that I install/update TWRP on my rooted SGH-M919. I'm running Stock rooted NH7 4.4.4.
After installing TWRP Manager, go to the Install TWRP option, select your Device Name, and then select which version of TWRP to install. It will then download that version, and install it to the Recovery partition.
Rob
Flasify from the play store also works well installing recovery, I used it for my SG4.

When I 'reboot'ed to restore, I was clicking 'reboot' without thinking twice. I realized I didn't install SuperSu in it. I had SuperSu app but I didn't install it yet. So I went ahead, rebooting until the logo showed up but it shut. Again, the logo showed up and it shut. It was going on.

You're not very good at describing the steps, your current situation, firmware you started with or answering questions so my response may be out in left field; you decide.
Did you happen to have OE1 or OF5 build before you started?
When you you say the logo kept restarting, did you leave out a step? Sounds like you used Odin to flash CF Auto Root, TWRP and proceeded to flash a custom ROM and it didn't boot.
Did you forget to do a much needed step of taking a nandroid backup as soon as you got to TWRP recovery?
Did not restart... Two things you can do. If you have the nandroid backup from TWRP, use it.
If you don't have it, flash the Odin CF Auto Root and try to reboot. If it boots, note the build and make a nandroid.
Most common mistake made in XDA in past weeks is trying to downgrade builds OE1 and OF5 to take a custom ROM when it's not supposed to happen. Bugs and reboot issues galore. And no way to upgrade until a stock recovery is found or a tar released.
Read and you may find some answers to your situation, if I'm out of bounds.

If it boots to TWRP recovery, check both the ext and sd card for backup when selecting the restore tab. I think it defaults to where you backed it up but check anyway. There's a tab button to select location in the restore menu.
No backup? Reflash CF Auto Root and reboot. If it boots, go back to recovery and make a backup in TWRP recovery.
If you don't have TWRP, flash in Odin and do the above steps.

I reflashed CF Auto Root and rebooted it. It said FAIL. Not working successfully.
https://download.chainfire.eu/585/CF-Root1/CF-Auto-Root-trltespr-trltespr-smn910p.zip - I used it for CF AUTO. I don't know how it happened. : (
In the settings go look in the "About Device" and see what the software version is. Hopefully not the two versions mentioned earlier.
There's also instructions in the CF Auto Root for flashes not taking. Something like if you don't see the red android in recovery, pull battery and reboot to recovery... Follow the OP.

That's a major problem... I can't EVEN get in homescreen at all. I am at where Samsung logo restarting is. Not even get in homescreen at all.

Done there, done that many times. There is NO red android in recovery. I see a green android every time I try to reboot.
I'm sure you tried this but it's a step process: Odin flash CF with auto boot enabled. If you don't see red Android, pull battery and boot directly into recovery.
No boot after that? Try boot into recovery again. Factory reset a few times and try to reboot. If that's a dead horse, you can try to flash OB7 modem in Odin (extract from OB7 stock tar) and flash noterized stable 2. Consider wiping all but ExtSdCard and flash again if still won't boot. But know you're in a realm of risks that you must weigh for yourself. I'm not liable for a brick.
