A bit cryptic header, but here's the problem:
Used the PC driver from the Toolkit.
USB error/test is enabled.
ROM: Probam 4.4.6
When I connect to my PC via USB, I can see the device in my explorer. I can copy files from/to the Note 2. But somehow it suddenly won't react anymore. It still is connected, but the files stop copying.
When I disconnect and reconnect the cable the device is found again and file copy can be restarted. But, when I change anything on the device, it just looks like the file structure is cached.
So, removing a file on the device itself won't be reflected on the PC. When I try to copy a file to the device which was previously removed on the device (and still visible on PC), the file copy will give an error, I suspect because it cannot find the file on the device.
Does anyone has a solution for this?

i've got the 2 options in USB to PC connections settings unchecked on my phone (internetting option, and charge over usb option)
i connect to my pc and it activelysyncs. BUT when i transfer files, vista gives me an error that the device has either been turned off or it has been disconnected, and i have to skip, skip all, or cancel. either way the phone does not get the file.
halP!
well what you wanna do is open the explore window of your device and the window containing the file you want transferred , then copy from that window to your device window.
The MTP connection appears to work on my laptop, but on my desktop (with the exact same drivers manually installed), the device doesn't work. It shows up in Windows and I can open it to see the folders in the phone and the SD card, but the files become unresponsive quickly. Example:
Plug in the phone
Navigate in explorer to my music directory and open it.
Half of the folders load and then it hangs up. The directory bar at the top does the loading animation very slowly. The rest of the contents never load and no file operations can be done. Trying to view My Computer or looking at the portable device properties also hangs up.
When I unplug the phone, the contents I was trying to load seem to appear for a split second before the windows close.
I'm pretty sure I have the drivers set up correctly since it's working on my laptop, which has the same version of Windows. But my desktop can't work with the MTP connection. If I try to sync the phone with media software, it hangs up and is "scanning" forever.
I've tried different USB cables and ports, front and back.
I've scoured the web with no luck. A few similar problems are mentioned, but no solutions. I'm guessing the issue is somehow with my desktop. What should I be looking for?

Sounds like buggy Samsung drivers to me.
On your PC, try installing the drivers in my signature.

The 1.4.6.0 Samsung driver is what I used. Like I said, it works on my laptop (also on my work PC). But my home desktop shows this weird functionality.
Hi
I'm quite new to rooting and playing around with roms and kernels. Usually whenever I install a rom on my phone I usually download it on my computer then transfer the zip file into my phone via usb. I noticed a new rom had been released for the P8000 (nexus) and i wanted to try it out so I downloaded it on my pc but I was not able to transfer onto my phone. I got an error message on my pc saying 'could not transfer file, device may have been unplugged or is not responding'. The device certainly was not unplugged as the phone was still charging and I was able to continue browsing through my phone's files.
Have not connected a phone to a pc in ages.. Use droid over wifi!
dunno why that should be but why not just d/l directly with your phone? that's what I tend to do as it's faster than wifi transfer and my pc drivers don't seem to work with my p8000 either so can't connect to pc.
try to enable usb debugging (or disable). i had this some times ago with a samsung phone. connection option als camera could help maybe too.
regards

Hi guys,
I need some advise regarding the USB connection between my cell phone ( LG G4 with Android 5.1.1) and my personal computer (Windows 10).
With the cell phone connected to my computer via USB cable I canĀ“t modify files and have it updated.
For example, if I delete or rename a file in my cell phone the modification is not displayed in my Windows File Manager. The same happens when I modify a file using Windows File Manager, the modification is not updated in my phone. I have to disconnected the phone and reconnect it back.
Anyone know why this is happening ?
Wondering if anyone else has this issue, but when I connect my phone as either MTP, PTP or MIDI; I cannot access or see the DCIM\Camera folder. If I try to navigate to it "Computer\Nexus 5X\Internal storage\DCIM\Camera", I get an error saying Windows cannot find the folder. I have tried turning Debugging on and off, but it didn't make a difference. I've also tried showing hidden files and system files in Windows, but nothing shows up in the DCIM folder.
Apps like EZ File Explorer and Quick Pic can access this folder just fine, but Windows cannot. Any Ideas?
Running the January Update with TWRP, SuperSU v2.65 flashed and Xposed flashed.

Ok, this might be a little too standard but just to confirm, after you connect to PC, do you unlock your phone? (if you have your phone locked). If not, unlock your phone after connecting to the PC and check whether you can now access. Cheers:good:
