[Q] Lowest volume setting too high - Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Q&A, Help & Troubl

Hi everyone,
I've noticed that even with the volume slider set to the lowest value before muted, it i still too high of a volume. I'd ideally like to play some music at bedtime, but i find that it is too loud. Is there a way to fix this?
Regards,
Rem

Ring volume too low..

Hey guys,
I hope I'm not the only one, but for all of you that have an "ORIGINAL" ring sound, is it low when you receive a call?
I have the ring volume at MAX and I'm using a "office ring" ringtone, but it's just soooo low and can barely be heard when placed in a holder and in my pocket.
When I searched this forum, I found this thread, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=581477&highlight=ring+volume . Could this really be the cause of the problem? I do in fact have vibrate and ring, but I use the custom "av1pr" sequence that people from the Jade threads mentioned.
Hopefully there's a solution! Thanks!
ok i did a lot of testing and found out the vibrate has nothing to do with the ring volume
the system sound volume seems to be controlling the ring volume even when i separate the volume controls (one for ring, one for system).
i dont like the system sound loud, but i have no choice because the ring is very very low even at 100%
any of you guys have this problem or know a fix?
thanks
For a past phone, I had copied the ringer sound file that I liked to my PC, used a free audio recording/editing program and re-recorded the sound with a louder volume. Then, I copied the new sound file back to the phone and pointed the phone to it.

Thanks guys for the help.
I actually used the "registry" fix from the link, but where could I find a program that could increase the volume of a sound clip?
My sound is still a bit low.
I used the "Sound Recorder" which comes with Windows.

Notification Volume

When my phone advises of a notification the sound is very low, is anybody else experience this ?
Volume is loud enough for music and youtube vids, it's just the notification sound seems to be quite quiet.
settings>sounds>Volumes>Ringtone and Notifications.
yeah i know about that thanks, but they are all at max

Try to change the notification sound. Maybe the one you use is low pitch. That's usually the case with default HTC sounds. use a custom mp3 and see the difference.

[Q] In-call volume with headphones too loud

I'm using the Moray Headphones from Razer with my HTC Desire. They seem to be pretty sensitive regarding to the volume. I can listen to music on one of the lowest settings, but for in-call volume even the lowest setting is too loud to bear.
All the apps that i found in the market just regulate the normal in-call volume, like the buttons on the side during a call. I did not find a way to go below this point. I tried to search for an option that can be set over the /sys parameters, but I had no luck there either.
Has anyone a clue, if there is a way to lower all headphone volumes in general?
I'm using Sandvolts ICS ROM at the moment, but this behavior was the same in all ROMs and Android versions I've ever tried.

Hi,
This is a very unique problem - I usually hear the other way around. I'll take a look into it and see if I can figure out a temporary fix - Stupid question: But does the in-call volume get higher when you raise the volume or is it the same?

It gets louder if I raise the volume. Everything works as expected, it's just that these headphones are too sensitive (or my ears ). If I use some bigger headphones, the loudness range is just normal.
It would be great, if there was a global range adjuster for headphones in android. Then one could boost, or in my case decrease, the overall volume range to a comfortable level.

[Q] Notifications/Ring Too Loud on Lowest Setting

I'm a little surprised that I couldn't find anything on this. My wife and I just got our GS3s a couple days ago and are both of the opinion that the lowest volume setting for both rings and notifications is still way too loud. There needs to be a step between vibrate and the first volume level up. I like my phone to make noise, but I don't want the people in the next cubicle over to really hear it.
For what it's worth, mine is rooted, but stock everything. My wife's is straight stock.
I'm doing a lot of reading up before deciding on a ROM. Does anyone know if any ROMs have finer volume controls?
Thanks for any help.
Only option is settings, sound. Volume, and check what it's set to. I believe you can have your phone sound set to the first level above vibrate but the notification sound can be set to max at all times by accident or something. Just set it to the 1st or 2nd notch and see how it sounds.

Thanks for the reply. They're all set to the lowest level. I still find it to be a bit too loud, though. I think I'll just leave it on vibrate, which is pretty damn loud by itself.
Yeah I think the lowest ringer/notification is way too loud for a cubicle environment.
Would love a solution.
I too find them to be way louder than any of my previous phones with the exact same notification sound. On my HTC is was fine, but now it's way too loud for an office environment.
Is there any apps out there that can adjust this or is it something in the firmware?
Re sample the file.
If the volume is not able to go low enough, try a quieter noise. Or use software to limit the volume of the notification you are currently using. You would just have to find software that will let you manipulate the levels of the audio file then you can save it as a quiet version. If that makes it too quiet for environments outside of work than use one of those apps that automatically select the notification profile during work hours.

[Q] Minimum volume too loud. Any way to lower it?

The lowest possible volume setting (before silent of course) on the M9 speaker is too loud for me. Is there any way to lower it further? Is there a specific file that controls the volume that I could modify?

Yeah, I already have it on Music mode. Still way too loud.
There must be a config file that has the sound levels in it that we can edit, no?
I just looked at Dragon-fi Audio, thanks. It seems like that has many more modifications that what I'm looking for. I just need a way to lower the sound level of the minimum volume.
you can edit a file called something with mixer_path.xml . but i forgot which exactly it was.. but yea Dragon-fi is really nice and awesome and really helps with static noise on m9...also anything else is much more improved *_*
