What is this , didnt even know about this anyway do u just Have to do this everytime we r on the phone to toggle this on and off

This is a noise filter that blocks out unncessary background noise. It works like the jawbone bluetooth where you could be in a loud nightclub and still hold a decent conversation on your phone. Our phones come with the feature turned on but can be turned off if you desire. No need to worry about toggling it.
How do u turn it off besides toggling it

When you say it's "off by default", you're not confusing the slash mark as it being off are you? When you see the slash through the nose wave that means it's on

I'd like to know as well. Bringing this back since no resolution.
I want it off. Nowhere to be seem unless in settings.
Mine defaults to on all the time.
It seems that t-989 ROMs don't have it in the settings directly.
The i727 ROMs have it under settings > calls
Maybe some other way of changing it on the T-989

But every time I make a call or answer a call, it defaults to on. I don't want to do it on every call.
I cant seem to get past the password screen I know its correct password and yes I even reset it! Anyone else get it working ?

Got mine working... I kept trying to use the password for my account... then I was trying to use my passcode... then I remembered my voicemail password from 5 years ago was completely different...
Had same problem. Worked for me when I disabled wifi and set up att visual voice mail using my cellular data connection. Try cleaning app data in app manager and open att visual app using only cellular connection. Should work then.

Also, if you use the stock AT&T Messages app it integrates visual voicemail but you loose the ability to save voicemails as .amr audio files.
Instead you have to go to https://messages.att.net/ to save your voicemails as audio files.
Using the website is like Google Voice so you can see all your voicemails including text and incoming/outgoing call logs.
Thanks for this post. I didn't even know visual voicemail was supported!
I wasnt talking about att messages app- just to be clear it is visual voicemail app in play store that att crap sucks
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
The only way that I know of to deactivate googke voice is through the website and not the app.

I don't see any options in AT&T Visual Voice that allows you to same messages as .amr files.

I have a sprint S3, my buddy just got a s3 and is on Tmobile while showing him some stuff on his phone I noticed they have a setting for wifi calling in there settings.. It allows him to use his data connection to receive and make calls when he has low cellular signal. I can't find this anywhere on the sprint version. This would be extremely helpful at work when I have no signal.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
That is only natively available on T-mobile phones. I wish it was available for us too, that would be cool.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
Would it be possible to port it? Or is there an app that would do the same thing?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I've never done it, but there's a way to do it with a combination of Google Voice and a VOIP app.
As far as porting it, I'm not a device so I wouldn't know. I think it has more to do with how t-mobile handles it rather than something that's actually on the phone.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2
I actually do have Google voice integrated what voip app would I need?

Ok if i have the sprint integration of Google voice on my phone? and i download Groove i should be able to use my cell number over wifi?
*on a side note what is the advantages of google voice with sprint integration?
I feel like I saw that feature on ICS and then it went away in JB.
Its called messaging+Google voice. Its just like stock, but it uses Google voice for sending texts.

Like the Idea, but not sure I trust an App that can monitor messages sent to/from my phone, and also can request authentication tokens from my google account... Or an App developed by someone that can not even provide a valid Developers website link.
Not a fan of 3rd party apps that require access to this type of information.
And if you Google the Developer "DreamBig, Inc" it's all about College related stuff...
It's been working as well as expected for me. Not too worried about privacy concerns. It uses Google services to access Voice and not your username and password. But thank goodness for the paranoid/careful.

yeah, but this isn't too important for me. The risk/reward factor is too high for me, for an unknown company to access my Google account, to do nothing really new for me. besides, I have unlimited texts.

It passedv the Google tests, but it's just not important to me, if you use gvoice exclusively, then maybe it's worth a shot.
I used to be able to send and receive text messages on my s2 but on the s4 doesnt work. Any of u have a 13 altima and a s4 and have this working so u can help me. My bt connects fine to the phone, I make calls with no problem. I even get text notifications on top but it wont show it. Way back used to read me the text and I could talk to reply.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks

i think what he was trying to say maybe the s2 or s3 automatically triggered the drive mode as soon as it got connected to the bluetooth, But maybe it doesnt on the s4 and hence turning on the drive mode manually (or use nfc tags in your car to trigger this) might fix the issue where you can control the phone with voice commands.
In S-voice settings, you can configure it to automatically turn on Driving Mode when connected to specific bluetooth devices. That being said, it may not help. I dont think MAP profile is working (or is not implemented) on the S4. S4 IS using Bluetooth 4.0, which may be causing compatibility problems with car radios. I am having all sorts of problems my S4 and a Kenwood head unit. My wife's S2 works fine.
