Slide a piece of paper in back of your sim card. Some times sim cards are not fat enough to get in contact with the sim reader. No one knows when your kaiser starts behaving like sim card isnt fat enough, it did for me 2 months ago and till now I have a piece of paper to do the remedy :|

Currently Android doesnt support locked sim cards. If you are using Haret Install, you need to PIN unlock your sim card before running Haret, or otherwise install Android on NAND only with an unlocked, right out of the box working sim card.
I know its bad but its this way. Here we usually block PUK code if our sim cards are lost / stolen
Okay I just messed up my Xperia Play It says I have no Sim Card inserted and I have no idea what to do :/
Would someone mind coming on themviewer and please do this for me?

Are you sure, you closed the backplate ?
Sometimes it just seems so, but often it's not closed till the end.
After that you still have to restart, the Play doesn't like it to hot swap sim cards

What did you do exactly (to your phone), also try removing sd card and just putting in sim, restart the phone then see if the sim works
I have an unrooted, purely stock GT-N5100.
I haven't put in the microSIM in its slot ever. I use it in airplane mode , only with Wi-Fi. But I have a problem where sometimes, it randomly detects that I have put in a SIM card( and it leaves me no option but to restart it). Then sometimes after detecting that, it detects that I have removed the SIM card and I again need to restart it. This gets really annoying and this time, it oscillated between the two cases as can be seen in the video below.

Now I don't have a SIM in the microSIM size, so I am Unable to really check by putting in a SIM card, there is nothing in the SIM slot, I checked by opening the flap.
Should I rush to the Samsung Service center to get it fixed? Any other Suggestions to fix it?

Weird thing happened to my phone..
from yesterday morning my sim 1 didnt detect,i thought my sim 1 hardware gone, since i tested with 5sims,2 are carrier micro sim,..
after 1day..i cant take that is hardware problem[ it just gone in overnight, dint drop, didnt shake since i slept] and opened the calc and tested the sim 1 ,it says test shows error,,.so i just tested my luck by downloading last update nd flashing...thank GOD...my sim 1 now works...
i seen some other also had this and asked replacement..thats y sharing this..
in future you may have this,so first try to flash stock, then goto service center
my both sim slot are loosey and sometime the sim card just slide out of it designated position and no sim detected occurred. it happen when i open my case and did not align the card properly. could this be the same issue you are facing?

no, as i mentioned i thought the same and tried with 5 sims... but nothing really worked, only after stock flashing it worked without adjust
Has anyone else encountered this? I have the UK version (it supports all att bands). It randomly stops detecting the sim card, and I have to eject it and reinsert it for it to detect it again.
sounds like an issue with the phone man... Mine has been flawless. if i were u i would return it... or at least try a new sim card.
I tried changing the APN settings to see if that makes a difference at all

I second this. Sometimes you just get a faulty device. Just exchange it for a new one.
have you checked the SIM card, make sure its clean? Seated correctly? You can clean the contacts carefully with alcohol wipes
