Hi there,
I don't know if there is Infrared sensors on Note II, but there is several apps on google play from the Samsung, Panasonic and etc, that uses wifi to control your television and bluray (which actually requires both conexion on your home network too) by your home network.
I have a Viera (Panasonic) TV and Bluray and works pretty well.
There is no IR on Note 2. So you can't use Note 2 as you want it.
I have new Nexus 7 running clean rom and a Samsung 2013 smart tv. On my TV I go to screen mirroring and then it waits for a device to connect. On the Nexus 7 I go to wireless display and search. It finds my Samsung tv. I click on it, the nexus 7 says connecting and the TV says connecting to device as well. Then the TV says device connected. On the nexus it still says connecting. Then the TV goes black and then says screen mirroring has ended. On nexus it goes from connecting to my Samsung TV not being on the list anymore. On my Verizon galaxy s3 screen sharing works fine.
Do I need the allshare app on the nexus for this to work correctly? If so is there a version compatible with the new nexus 7?
If I don't need allshare app is there a mod I can do to get this to work?
Thanks for any help.

Do you have a samsung phone, with allshare cast on it? if not you may want to check for a software update / firmware update for your TV as the allshare cast dongle required a update for "Screen Mirroring" to work instead of being locked down to just samsung devices with "AllshareCast", even though AllshareCast is Miracast, which is what the n7's screen mirroring is.

Yes my Verizon Galaxy S3, which works fine on the TV and does have allshare cast on it. I did a firmware update on my TV about a week ago and just tried the screen mirroring today with that result. I will try again when I get home to see if maybe the nexus just needed a reboot and to see if any new firmwares came about on my TV since the last one.

I don't know that it's applicable to tv's also, but does your s3 have the allsharecast dongle software update, that was updated July 30th installed? It does kind of have a small reference to tv's in the app description, but it's horribly translated to English , so who knows what all it applies to really lol

I have exactly the same case here - unable to use my Samsung smart tv as wireless display for my N7 flo. Any ideas?
Exact same here with Nexus 4 and new 75F6300, with all updates.
Nexus 4 works fine with LG TVs that I tried.

So it should be samsung TV incompatibility then.
I never had luck getting this to work, but I wondered if the google chromecast, or any device in its $35 price range, can be used to successfully screen mirror from the new nexus 7.

Guys, if you are running custom roms and kernels, the chances of screen mirroring is near zero.
I see reports of some custom roms and kernels for my S4 with working display mirroring but that's like a 1 in 20 chance and I never could find one that worked for me. However, stock rom and kernel (even rooted) worked for me on the S4.
I'm running 4.3 stock rooted on my N7 and miracast work fine as well.
I'm using PTV3000 as the sink device so may be different from standalone TVs.

Your so right about that I have a locked bootloader xperia z on existenz rom based on stock xperia rom and I get screen mirror errors but the developer of the rom says its fine for him but ive only experience these errors since kitkat was released for xperia z ive been on about three different custom roms based on stock for xperia z and only one of those roms had working screen mirroring @niaboc79 please fix this problem ive been asking you for months cany you promise me it will be fixed in v2.0 please dont care how long it takes
Here it is 4 years later and I still can't find a solution.
Custom marshmallow roms usually support miracast, it should work with your older TV, nougat does not as I know, that's why I bought a used chromecast2. May a Dev will take care for it in the near future for nougat.
I have a Galaxy s7 and I'm screen mirror from my fire stick and it's been working just fine I been watching movies, now when I try to screen mirror to watch more movies it keeps saying smart view connection ended. What does this means?
I have a client who has a new Tab Pro 10.1 and he wants to know how to stream the screen of his tablet to his TV or PC at his office to use for a demonstration and use kind of as a remote whiteboard. He saw someone doing it at a meeting he went to last week, but did not ask how they were doing it. I have searched all around and it looks like he has to be rooted to do it, but it seems unreliable and I don't want to have to fix or set this thing up every time he uses it. I am sure he wont mind rooting his tablet if it means he will be able to stream his screen. I was hoping Chromecast would be able to do it easily, but it looks like that is not a feature yet and it can only be done fairly reliably through Chrome on a computer.
Has anyone done this yet? What do you recommend?
He has a:
Tab Pro 10.1 (stock)
Intel Nuc running Windows 8.1 Pro 64 connected to the TV
Chromecast
Vizio 70" TV
Thanks in advance!

That looks like a wired setup. I should have been clear that it needs to be wireless.
Thank you though!

There is an app preinstalled on the Tab - Sidesync 3.0. Need to install the app on the pc also. I haven't used it but I think it does what you want via wifi.
The tablet support screen mirroring (settings -> connections). Works fine on my sony bravia
You can use Chromecast but it will be slow for that. Instead use Miracast (What Brendo is using). There are many Miracast adapters if your TV doesn't have this capability.
Screen Mirroring Galaxy tab pro 8.4 and Sony bravia TV
The screen mirroring function will work with a Galaxy Tab pro 8.4 and a w605b Bravia TV?
Thank you!

It should. I have a bravia
On my S5 there is an option in the Chromecast app which allows casting. On my Galaxy Tab Pro 8.4, there is no option. I have tested both my S5 and Tab Pro 8.4 with Chromecast. Individual apps, like Youtube and Netflix cast fine, but the Tab Pro won't give me the option to cast the tablet's screen. If you have a Samsung "Screen Mirroring" compatible smart TV it might work (I don't).
On a side note. . . Although I know your client wants wireless, my old Samsung HDMI adapter for my S3 works with both my S5 and Tab Pro 8.4. The Samsung WI-FI All-Share Cast Hub, Wireless HDMI Display Adapter (can't remember the name) might work if you have that plugged into the video source. I didn't purchase it, so I can't test it.
I just recently bought a Chromecast and Tab Pro 8.4. I've been experimenting the last few days.
Basically, casting to Chromecast is going to be limited to apps with built-in Chromecast support. The only way I was able to do screen mirroring was through my WDTV Live set top box. Like Weo said above, you will need a TV with screen mirroring capability. My friend has a Samsung smart tv that he uses screen mirroring all the time.
Here's a nicely put together FAQ about Chromecast: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2563143
I think the only way to do screen mirroring to Chromecast is to root your device and install a hack: http://forum.xda-developers.com/har...experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193
Hi
My Note 3 Neo (N7502 / Android 4.3) is not streaming media to my samsung smart tv. The tv does not appear in the list of nearby devices after turning on the file sharing.
Both, Note 3 Neo and TV are logged in to Samsung account.
It is probably not a hardware fault as my wife's Note 3 Neo, (N7502 / Android 4.3), bought at the same time, is also having the same problem.
It is definitely not the tv/network problem as my kids' phones (S4 Mini & S3 Mini) are connecting to tv and streaming media easily.
Is there any particular setting in the Neo that I'm not aware of? Any other suggestion?
