Thanks! It worked perfectly

I just want to kind of +1 this because it really helped me out! I was trying to change the splash screen of the htc one v (primoc) and I just had to take my image for the splash screen I wanted and rename it splash1.img, download the file from the OP, take out the hboot file and replace it with my splash1.img file and edit the android-info.txt to my current romver (mainver), compress (on mac, idk what to do for windows for flashable zip file format) and put it on my sd card and VOILA! got me a fancy bootup splash screen! no longer will I be blinded at night when turning on my phone LOL!
also, checkout this thread ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448762 ) for awesome splash screen images we can use on the one v, just use the right android-info.txt file from the OP in russellvone's thread (this one)
on another note, I'm using the eng hboot posted by rumrunner, using simon's guide to install it found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2560156
I really hope this helps out others!!

[SPLASH] 480x800 Splash Images

This is a thread where I will post 480X800 resolution splash images. Anyone is welcome to post their image as well. There will be an attached thumbnail so you can preview the image and also a download link to the splash image. You will not be able to open the .img file with your phone and view the .img as a picture. It will only display as a graphic after you flash it and then reboot your phone.
My recommended procedure:
Download the .img file and place it into your fastboot folder on your computer.
Reboot your phone into bootloader and choose fastboot from the menu then execute the following command on your computer
fastboot flash splash1 new_splash.img
There is more information in this thread on how to flash the image from your phone using terminal emulator but be very careful with this method or you could brick your phone.
I am not responsible if any file in this thread or the flashing process damages your phone in any way! Use at your own risk!!

I don't wave to blame you but you're won't, sorry.
If you put the zip-file onto your card directly onto the root, no subfolder, with the same name and boot into bootloader, the bootloader will check for the file and will check it itself and than ask you wether to install or not.
It will wipe everything and update, doesn't matter wether you're S-ON or not.

Your getting updates when your network providers release the other update for your CID which means most people will have to wait.

You can flash the zip. Just rename to update.zip, copy to sd card root and then flash update from stock recovery. It is an update not a complete rom so the 350 odd mb file size is correct.

This is an update to stock, so no it doesn't have to be rooted. But this will only work if your devices cid is HTC__621.
How to Install OTA:
1. Download OTA file
2. Rename it 'update.zip' (not update.zip.zip)
3. Put on root of SD card
4. Boot phone into HBOOT
5. Select recovery
6. Select Update from Zip
7. Select 'install update.zip from SD card'
8. Press power to select

[HBOOT MOD] Remove the red text

YOU MUST BE SOFF TO USE THIS MOD, IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT THAT IS YOU DONT HAVE IT. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKS DUE TO YOUR NEGLIGENCE. Now lets continue.
You can find the hboot here to download: Download
Once you download this zip, extract all of its contents. You will need to verify the md5 of the mmcblk0p18 so be sure to pull the .md5 as well. Once you have the files, open the md5 in a text editor of choice. Then, put the mmcblk0p18 into your adb folder. If its in your path, I will make the assumption you can modify this to your needs. You will now need to use the code below. Be sure you are booted into android!
Code:
adb push mmcblk0p18 /sdcard/mmcblk0p18
adb shell
su
md5sum /sdcard/mmcblk0p18
#now check the output of this command with the md5 in the file you opened in notepad. If it DOES [U]NOT[/U] MATCH, [U][B]DO NOT[/B][/U] proceed
dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0p18 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
diff /sdcard/mmcblk0p18 /dev/block/mmcblk0p18
# IF THESE DIFFER DO NOT REBOOT, try the command again. If you are not S-OFF then you will see that the files WILL differ.
Now, you can reboot and the red warning text will be gone! Enjoy!
After you do this, it will look like this (Hboot will show 1.18.9999):
In addition, phone will no longer be recognized in fastboot mode on USB 3.0 ports

Not entirely true. I know of a utility that converts a 480x800bmp to nbh. From there (with an eng fast boot mod,(I got a friend working on it who will be nameless so you don't all bug him)) fastboot flash splash custom.nbh

[RUU] Google Edition Conversion. 4.4.2- 1.16.1700.16 -RUU Zip Non-Rooted & Pre-Rooted
This will NOT work on a CDMA HTC One GSM ONLY!
PSA: People have been reporting not being able to flash back to sense. When investigating this further I found that the system partition on the GPE is about half the size of the sense system partition. (just over a gig compared to like 2.8) This was not the case on the M7
So as of now once you convert, YOU CAN NOT GO BACK TO A SENSE BASED ROM UNTIL A RUU is RELEASED! Rest assured nothing is wrong with the RUU. If you did convert and want to go back you just have to wait for a RUU to be released then you can go back but flashing a sense rom in recovery wont work.
This thread is NOT to support changing your MID, Changing your CID, Rooting or Flashing a custom recovery. If you need to learn how to do any of those do NOT use this thread to post in. Post in the respective dedicated threads to complete these processes. This thread is ONLY to support flashing the RUU. Nothing more, nothing less.
This is NOT a general 4.4.2 discussion thread.
Furthermore, if you need any more detailed instructions than what's stated in this post then you really shouldn't be doing this to your device. If you need a "video" or ask for "step by step" instructions you will NOT get anything more than what's in this post (at least from me). There is no easier way to do this process, there is no easier way to explain it. If you read the post and still don't understand what to do then I advise you to leave your phone alone... Read and then read some more until you understand everything.. WE WILL NOT SPOON FEED YOU IN THIS THREAD!
This procedure is not easy and is not really noob friendly, well flashing the RUU is not really difficult but it's the prerequisites that are more complex/risky. If the instructions aren't clear enough for you or you require further hand holding then I'm sure most of us would advise you stay away from the process.
Also, please do not PM me for support. PM's will not be answered. Post it in the thread. It helps other's having the same issue find a solution. If it's over PM it only benefits you and not everyone else
Prerequisites
S-Off,
ADB knowledge
Fastboot knowledge
Instructions:
First you are going to have to have s-off on your device. Thread for S-off (and support for S-off) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708464
Full Conversion 4.4.2 RUU ZIP containing System, Boot and all Firmware 1.16.1700.16
This will wipe EVERYTHING INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD!!!! so make sure you back up the contents before running this, but you'll end up with a factory-fresh GE. Of course, there's still no support, warranty or responsibility implied or otherwise.
The 4.4.2 RUU Zip supports the following MIDs and CIDs if your MID or CID is not in this list you will have to modify the android-info.txt file in the zip to match your MID/CID
modelid: 0P6B12000
modelid: 0P6B17000
modelid: 0P6B*****
cidnum: 11111111
cidnum: T-MOB010
cidnum: CWS__001
cidnum: BS_US001
cidnum: GOOGL001
(please note.. If your model id or cid is not supported you can open up the android-info.txt file that's in the zip and replace one of the model ids or cids listed to match yours.)
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
Code:
fastboot oem rebootRUU
Code:
fastboot flash zip RUU-HTC_One_M8_GE-1.16.1700.16.zip
you will the following message:
Code:
FAILED (remote: 90 hboot pre-update! please flush image again immediately)
Just run the same command again:
Code:
fastboot flash zip RUU-HTC_One_M8_GE-1.16.1700.16.zip

I can confirm this works on a T-Mobile HTC One M8.
HTCDev to unlock bootloader.
Flash custom recovery to root with SuperSU
Run Firewater S-Off (took me more than one try, just follow instructions to reboot and try again if this happens)
Follow instructions in the OP to flash the RUU
Do we even need to unlock and root? It seems we can just use jcase method to gain temp root so that we can use firewater to get s-off and then off to the races? Or am I missing something?

Do we need to do anything with radio? I thought we just gain the s-off and follow the steps in the OP?
I ask because we are leaving Sprint for T-Mobile tomorrow and I'm deciding between the Nexus 5 and M8 converted to GPE.

Not sure about weak sauce working or not, and you don't have to do anything with the radio. The radio that's with the GPE is fully compatible with tmo

From what you can tell, is LTE and every other radio working like normal?

It definitely should work just fine like the M7 GPE conversion. Didn't test it because I didn't have a Nano SIM. Its shipped off

Just keep in mind.. as of now.. once you convert you can't go back until a sense RUU is released due to the different system partition sizes between the gpe and the sense versions. You can however run the GPE rom I posted on a sense version as it was deved on a sense version with the correct partition size for a sense version

Couldn't find any radios in that zip.
Any idea where to look specifically?

Flashing the ROM now...but I had trouble getting it to flash. I had to rename the ROM then it worked.
I just had to modify what I had to type in to move and flash the RUU file, other then that, everything is going good...so.far... **knocks on wood**
**EDIT**
Just completed my conversion, ended up having to Frankenstein this together by reading up stuff on a lot of different threads (and for some reason Samsung drivers work for the HTC One M8) everything is going great!
Can anyone get the stock HTC gallery app to work? I can't get it from the Play Store, but I managed to install the apk but it says that my device isn't authorized
