YOU MUST BE SOFF TO USE THIS MOD, IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT THAT IS YOU DONT HAVE IT. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR BRICKS DUE TO YOUR NEGLIGENCE. Now lets continue.
You can find the hboot here to download: Download
Once you download this zip, extract all of its contents. You will need to verify the md5 of the mmcblk0p18 so be sure to pull the .md5 as well. Once you have the files, open the md5 in a text editor of choice. Then, put the mmcblk0p18 into your adb folder. If its in your path, I will make the assumption you can modify this to your needs. You will now need to use the code below. Be sure you are booted into android!
Code:
adb push mmcblk0p18 /sdcard/mmcblk0p18
adb shell
su
md5sum /sdcard/mmcblk0p18
#now check the output of this command with the md5 in the file you opened in notepad. If it DOES [U]NOT[/U] MATCH, [U][B]DO NOT[/B][/U] proceed
dd if=/sdcard/mmcblk0p18 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
diff /sdcard/mmcblk0p18 /dev/block/mmcblk0p18
# IF THESE DIFFER DO NOT REBOOT, try the command again. If you are not S-OFF then you will see that the files WILL differ.
Now, you can reboot and the red warning text will be gone! Enjoy!
After you do this, it will look like this (Hboot will show 1.18.9999):
In addition, phone will no longer be recognized in fastboot mode on USB 3.0 ports

There isn't any other simpler way than that. If you can't handle a few commands, you shouldn't be modding your phone.

You can change the boot animation, but you can't change the boot logo, just remove the red text.
Not entirely true. I know of a utility that converts a 480x800bmp to nbh. From there (with an eng fast boot mod,(I got a friend working on it who will be nameless so you don't all bug him)) fastboot flash splash custom.nbh

Another thread like this... I know. Sorry.
In an attempt to load the modified battery management file, I've managed to brick my One X. It just sits at the 'HTC quietly brilliant' screen and that's as far as it gets.
I can boot into bootloader and then use fastboot, which in turn has allowed me to load the Clockwork Touch Recovery. I can reboot and load this recovery fine. But whatever I try, I cannot get it to boot back into the normal OS.
I cannot mount the phone on my laptop as that's not an option (that I'm aware of) in the One X recovery mode. Therefore I cannot copy across a new ROM to the SDCard and reload via 'Update.zip'.
Battery is healthy, everything was working prior to this failed attempt at being clever.
What other options are there to re-load a ROM and get the device working again?
Thanks in advance for your help
Rob

Thank you, very much. A question, where it says:
'After that download RUU specific to your handset and run. This should install fine and return you to stock.'
I've downloaded what I think is right and I have a .zip file, how can I get this onto the device to install it?
It is mentioned in the instructions. You will need to use adb.
Edit: I presume that you have fast boot and adb installed on your PC. If not you will need to do that for your device to be recognized

That's the trouble, I can't. Because there is no USB access in recovery, ADB doesn't work.

No adb.
Boot into fastboot on mobile and run the RUU from pc.
You need to have your bootloader locked before the RUU can run.
fastboot oem lock
Also did you try a factory reset in recovery and then tried to reboot into system

I do indeed have ADP/Fastboot on my computer still.
Where can I download the stock RUU? I can find a .zip version from this very forum, but how do I install that if I can't transfer it? I had assumed there would be a .exe version to run from my computer. Is there?
skywalker1970 - I did indeed try that, thanks.

Hey Guys,
I know there are many Threads online here but I cant find the information I need.
I've got an HTC Desire Z, bought in Germany without Branding. I need to ship it for warrenty, because it's not booting anymore: HTC Logo then 7 times vibration and off.
If I plug the powercord: Orange LED on ... 7 times vibration and off.
I cant checksum the parition and I cant restore factory, both crash with freeze.
There is cyanogen mod on it and I'm able to boot it on boot menu:
Code:
VISION PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.84.2000 (PC1011000)
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.08.04.30_M3
eMMC-boot
Sep 8 2010,15:56:38
If I plug USB its saying FASTBOOT USB.
So I should be able to use adb to push an image.
So ... my question is how do I push the image and which image should I push?
Best Regards,
Ruben
If they will fix it for free just brick the whole damn thing so it won't turn on, make sure a non booting phone is covered first!
Open a shell and
dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p18
sync
reboot
Now your phone won't even boot
If you want though you can just flash stock recovery via fastboot
fastboot flash recovery recover.img
If you can't find the stock recovery image and you want to do this let me know and ill dig one up

sorry, but still not getting it :/
Which commands do I need now exactly for fastboot?
There is now adb access in bootloader, not even in fastboot mode, hence nothing to type in there (as to brick phone)
You will need to boot into recovery or have a working operating system to use adb, that's similar to fastboot.
You don't have an os so you need to boot to recovery and open cmd, then type the command I posted earlier

Yeah you are showing all the signs of a fried emmc, so you couldn't return to stock even if you wanted to as your chip has lost read/write cappabilities.
To completley brick try and flash either an incompatable hboot or radio or do a battery pull during the flash, may need to do it a few times to work

you didn't flash it on this phone, if you did you discovered something new.
there is a reason why all the splash screens tutorials are flashed in fastboot RUU (I did a lot of testing when I first made the splash screens.). It would be great though to be able to put on root of internal using the .zip, much easier and ppl won't need a CPU.
PH98IMG is for the Rezound also..? That phone had an SD-Card Slot..
This one doesn't, I tested every # for our phone on the internal and nothing, if you can get it that'd be great, but from what I've read and seen, it's not possible on a phone without an SD-Card Slot.

This mod removes the red text from HBOOT with custom kernels.
It is a simple binary replacement of the text that would normally display with a long string of 0x20 (The character for spaces).
WARNING: THIS IS DANGEROUS, if your phone powers off while you are writing to the hboot, you CAN brick.
S-off, root, and busybox are required
Download:
http://www.cheatersedge.org/android/m8/hboot-no-red-text.img
SHA1: 8619b74b5f22459753498d89de38f47b23518f78
Installation (This can be done in normal boot mode, but booted to TWRP is a MUCH safer bet):
Code:
adb push hboot-no-red-text.img /sdcard/
adb shell
su
dd if=/sdcard/hboot-no-red-text.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11
reboot

it would take an even more insane dev to make such a zip. I don't think I ever saw one. except maybe one time when one of the phones I was using needed firmware update to be compatible with the new android version, and the new roms included it. though it'd be safer to have it as a separate zip.

I recon your best bet is to try and unlock your bootloader again have you tried reinstalling/manually installing the drivers on your computer? also does it make a sound when you plug it in? and what happens if you select hBoot?
Was you trying to return to stock when this happened?

considering your version of hboot I don't think firewater will work which means you would need to use sunshine which costs money...
You would also need to be within you system(Android) and be rooted so at the moment best thing to concentrate on is getting your device a recovery / get it to connect to a PC
If you can get your Device to show up in ADB your chances of recovering it get a lot higher

You need to use firewater s-off or if that one does not work for you sunshine s-off works but cost $25 dollars.
The issue your going to have is you can't boot at all and you said fastboot commands not working. Are you sure you have the correct fastboot and adb files in the folder your connected to?

What did you do to get your phone to this point? I need to know what you tried to do to get a better idea of how to fix it. You said the phone won't boot or go into recovery I need to figure out why so I need to know what you did.
I think your fastboot setup is wrong that's why fastboot is not working what are you typing in terminal from start to when it fails.

OK... this is what I can understand.
You relocked the bootloader for some reason then you unable to boot the phone anymore and when you try to enter recovery, it boots to bootloader again. All fastboot command doesn't work.
Now ... do you still have the unlock_code.bin with you ? You need to re unlock the bootloader then other fastboot command will work like fastboot flash recovery recovery.img and etc.
