The same way as for ICS.

Your getting updates when your network providers release the other update for your CID which means most people will have to wait.

Android 4.1.2 Chefs we are waiting.

Apparently it's still 4.1.1 even though news stories said it would be 4.1.2

I have a HTC_621 can I do anything with that zip posted? Since,I am in US I don't expect to see an OTA...although I did on last update. What is the zip guys? 300+MB zip is small to be complete isn't it?

You can flash the zip. Just rename to update.zip, copy to sd card root and then flash update from stock recovery. It is an update not a complete rom so the 350 odd mb file size is correct.

Damn ok, now how to get back to stock recovery...I am a total HTC noob. This EvoLTE and my Hox are first ones. I better get the coffee started because what are the odds? I got it in California..lol. Thanks Clyde, the size was what threw me off. Damn, 3 failed downloads!

The safest is to probably revert to the latest stock ruu. Lock bootloader and run the ruu via pc.
Edit: Try link for download

Is it possible to flash it on a non rooted OneX or does it has te be rooted?
If it works on an non rooted OneX, is this the way it works? -> "You can flash the zip. Just rename to update.zip, copy to sd card root and then flash update from stock recovery. It is an update not a complete rom so the 350 odd mb file size is correct."

This is an update to stock, so no it doesn't have to be rooted. But this will only work if your devices cid is HTC__621.
How to Install OTA:
1. Download OTA file
2. Rename it 'update.zip' (not update.zip.zip)
3. Put on root of SD card
4. Boot phone into HBOOT
5. Select recovery
6. Select Update from Zip
7. Select 'install update.zip from SD card'
8. Press power to select

Where can I find the cid of my OneX ? I've been looking in several menu's of the phone an trying to find out with apps (CID getter) but I can't find anything that looks like HTC_621.

Flash it from ClockworkMod recovery
Use this guide to root:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19465384&posted=1#
Install RomManager from the market then flash ClockworkMod recovery from there and flash the .zip from there
Or just wait for it to come OTA

from all accounts so far, the update has only really made changes to the kernel. so the update would only be small.
I'm stock so I just applied it and it seems fine. No obvious changes. I tried a USB game controller and it still didn't work so I think its just the volume bug fix (although there are alot of patch files in the zip).
I don't know how to apply it manually I'm afraid now we don't have the /sdcard partition accessible via USB mass storage. Could try renaming to update.zip, putting in the root of MTP storage, booting into recovery (hold vol down and power) and see if it can be applied?

OTA update ClockworkMod

K here we go,
I've got an HTC One V. ( not the best choice ever I know but it will do for now). Thing is that it has been rooted and I now have a clockworkmod Recovery version 5.8.3.1. Today I got a message saying that there was a system update for my Phone. 2.22.401.1 of 34.55 MB. When I try to install it, it boots into ClockworkMod Recovery. I think I know where the OTA should be: /cache or /partition/cache But I can't find either of them in recovery nor just with filemanager. What am I doing wrong or what should I do?
tnx in advance Maverick ®

Firstly will like to say hi to everyone here since this is my first post and a new user to android!
I have read several threads and all mentioned to have stock recovery to do the update. Doesn't work for me. This is my scenario:
I have a rooted stock rom with CWM. I have flashed the stock recovery and also downloaded root keeper to able to restore my root after performing the OTA. After flashing the stock and backing up of root, I proceeded on to download the OTA update and install it. When the phone starts to reboot, indeed it boot up into the stock recovery for the update. However it just stops around 25% showing a notification icon instead.
I am a developer and an occasional hacker.. I am pretty new to android mods. Greatly appreciate if anyone could shed some light on how I can troubleshoot this issue.. Any logs? any debugging level I can look at to see what went wrong at 25%?
and by the way, i am holding on to a HTC One X
Thanks in advanced!
It stop at 25% or at any time because it cannot find a file it needs to patch.
Only a clean stock ROM should be able to complete an OTA update.

[JB]Remove Watermark 3.09.401.100

Ok, A lot of people flashed the OTA...
But now you got the ugly watermark...
Yes it can be removed...
It does require root.
Copy the services.jar to your computer and run ADB.
Code:
adb remount
adb push services.jar system/framework/
adb reboot
Your watermark is now gone.

Well, I do apologize to all normal and civilised members of this community not searching for the solution myself, but I didn't open any new thread regarding my question. I'm not on my pc right now, so It's a little bit hard and time consuming to search on my phone for something that can easily be shared here.

Thank u for ur help, but in that thread I did not find the solution I was looking for, or I couldn t understand it. Once again, my HOX is stock, on latest european rom 2.17.401.2 and I would like to upgrade it to this JB 3.09.401.100 rom. Do I need to unlock bootloader and root the phone to do it, or I can do the upgrade without doing that, some other way, so I don t lose the warranty.
Thank you.
You could try putting the zip file into the internal memory and rename it to update.zip and boot to stock recovery and flash it from there.. Normally the ota file would get saved into /cache/ folder and flashed by the system from there....
I didn't try it as I'm receiving this update officially as part of the user trial program

im downloading the new ruu but like jmz i also wanted the OTA.
Was running the Claws & went back to my DD (JMZ's deodexed stock) before the upgrade. It overwrote the recovery, so we need to see if the TWRP Recovery will work with 4.1.2 before we can get root again....It updated the radio, but kept it S-off & the CID stayed in modded form.
JMZ--I know I jumped the gun, but I wanted 4.1--so I went for it to see if it would work......

Will check back in 24h. Is there anyway I can upgrade my device without loosing root, supercid and bootloader unlocking WITHOUT loosing my app settings!? I like the On. Air Upgrade, cuz it keeps ur settings and etc, but i will loose root and etc. Is there anyway I can combine both?!
P.S- waiting for the stock rooted rom. Which do u recomand, the odex or the deodex?! Thanks and I really apreciate EVERYTHING u did for us, the VX users!

unfortuantly the only way to keep everything is the OTA. If you flash my rooted JB rom, it most likely will cause a lot of issues.

I received a verizon htc one from someone in a trade for my wife and it was already rooted and I believe the bootloader is unlocked and I believe it has s-off. It had the unsense 4.4.2 rom already installed but my wife does not like how you have unlock the screen then hit answer call to answer incoming calls. Also the notification light is not working on that rom so I figured I would try installing something else for her. when you post a rooted version of the new ota can i install it via twrp that is already installed on the htc one?

Try applying it again and it should work. I saw that on the International One and it appeared it was running out of space on /cache while patching the HTC Speak app which is over 200MBs.

Reflash the previous stock rom you were using. That or wipe cache and side load the ota.zip. when turge said that he got me thinking so I put the ota in phone storage and wiped cache. Used stock recovery to install from phone storage.

you dont... however if you a good with switching recoveries you can use that method to get the OTA file over to the phone without booting into a rom. You then have to switch to stock recovery to get it flashed...
