I received a verizon htc one from someone in a trade for my wife and it was already rooted and I believe the bootloader is unlocked and I believe it has s-off. It had the unsense 4.4.2 rom already installed but my wife does not like how you have unlock the screen then hit answer call to answer incoming calls. Also the notification light is not working on that rom so I figured I would try installing something else for her. when you post a rooted version of the new ota can i install it via twrp that is already installed on the htc one?

Try applying it again and it should work. I saw that on the International One and it appeared it was running out of space on /cache while patching the HTC Speak app which is over 200MBs.

Reflash the previous stock rom you were using. That or wipe cache and side load the ota.zip. when turge said that he got me thinking so I put the ota in phone storage and wiped cache. Used stock recovery to install from phone storage.

you dont... however if you a good with switching recoveries you can use that method to get the OTA file over to the phone without booting into a rom. You then have to switch to stock recovery to get it flashed...

u can go ahead and download the ota. itll either download to /cache or to /sdcard/downloads. if u down load it just dont apply it. once u have it downloaded just delete it from the directory it was in.
If you guys are trying to do an OTA update and it actually lets you, then you will lose ROOT, just so ya know....
You can download it without installing it.
Can someone post the update package to see what files changed?

[Q] Return to COMPLETE Stock?

Ok so i need to send my inc 2 in for a refurb. I am currently running AOKP build 37 with aeroevans v9ics kernel and an unlocked BL. How do i return to complete stock unrooted?
i've seached all over the forum and can't find anything. It was easy with my droid x2 because you could just run the SBF with RSD Lite.
I also have the new software version 6.1 if thats any help.

It didnt say anything. It found the PG32IMG.zip file, ran it, and then returned to the bootloader screen. I tried running it again just in-case something weird happened, but same result.
also on a side note im s-on, the 6.1 OTA doesn't allow s-off at this time

I didn't think about that. That could be the issue then. No nandroid backup of your stock ROM right?
I'm thinking the best you can do is find a similar to stock ROM and install that. Most times the service techs don't look to hard at a device to see that it is running a custom ROM.

Great! Use that and then download one of the apps that helps to remove root. One such app is OTA Rootkeeper. https://play.google.com/store/apps/...m9yZy5wcm9qZWN0dm9vZG9vLm90YXJvb3RrZWVwZXIiXQ..

JB OTA won't install- says install untrusted zip? in cwm

I started doing the Google framework force stop and clear cache today while on wifi and was prompted after 5 or 6 tries. It downloaded, verified download, rebooted and TRIED to install. About 15% through, it said untrusted zip and cwm screen popped up top and asked 'install untrusted zip?' Of course I hit yes.. why isn't it trusted? Its straight from the carrier. Anyway it immediately said installation aborted. I repeated this process again and got the same results. Please someone help. Now that JB is finally here my phone won't take it???

If you have CWM flashed, you have to manually flash the update -- it won't install over-the-air. If you want to install it over-the-air, flash back the stock recovery then accept the update.

Gnex Toolkit wasn't working because of some missing file... re-installed it and flashed the stock recovery via Gnex Toolkit (I think). Is there a way to check which recovery is running? Anyway, if it is indeed stock, I just got prompted again for the OTA JB update.. it's installing now.... fingers crossed!!!
..OK so now it rebooted... started installing, got about halfway through.. paused, then it went to the stock recovery screen and stayed with a red triangle around an exclamation point! What is happening here?!
I have now re-locked the bootloader and received the prompt for OTA again....
Still won't work for me. I've tried even flashing the stock image and it won't install at all. Actually nothing is installing.
I've never done anything to the phone besides unlocking the BL and rooting and switching to CWM. It seems to have something to do with the SD mount.. nut then again I have no idea.

Just delete the super user app. There should be an unroot option in there somewhere. You shouldn't need to worry about the recovery. But I believe there is a stock recovery in the non carrier branded forum

You could download this rom and once it's done downloading open the .zip up and delete Superuser.apk from either /system/app or Data/app. Then when you boot up it should look normal enough. After that you could just flash a stock recovery
IMO that's your best option since I haven't seen a ruu yet.

Yo
I have a quick question for the administrators. I was on Cyanogenmod with TWRP Recovery on my Htc one M8, i did everything stock (installed 2.22.401.4 odexx stock rom, with stock recovery, relocked the bootloader and turner S-ON) Now i have OTA update and when i click install now it shows red triangle and the update fails. When i go into recovery it shows something like 2.22.401.4 "something is wrong or missing something-i dont like to go into recovery to see again but i think you know this issue ) Can you please tell me what to do guys i dont want to sell my htc m8 and i want to get the OTA's in the future without any problem. Btw my phone is bought from T-Mobile Macedonia, where i wondered is this t-mobile RUU for all countries T-Mobile devices or just US?
I will be very grateful for your answers dudes.
Thank you in advance.

[Q] Cant make a back up on TWRP is it safe to flash a ROM?

Hey guys so i rooted my G3 using purple drake a while back and i remember not being able to create a back up it just stays in TWRP recovery forever. I was wondering if somone could point me in the right direction here because im a little skeptical about trying to flash a rom and my recovery not working.
I am still on D85110c so im thinking that maybe when i rooted it TWRP wasnt fully supported?
Thanks guys
