Uninstalling multiple apps at once - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Found this on Drippler, just did it. Nice time saver.
Using ES File Explorer:
1. Open ES.
2. Click blue global icon top left of screen.
3. Select Tools
4. Select app manager
5. Long press on first app you want to uninstall. This will give you the option to just click in apps afterwards.
6. Uninstall.
7. Profit!!
You still have to approve each one, but this is a big time saver for me.

Ah nice find!
U might already do this, but for regular (repeated uninstall/debloats) titanium labels work awesome.
Def gonna use this for my stragglers.
Sent from my SM-N900T using Tapatalk 4

Use this all the time! Its also a good way to debloat a rom in system apps!

Is there an app that does the opposite? Looking to install a list of all the apps I have installed after I flash a ROM.. so downloading them all from Google Play with auto permissions.
I know Google Play usually does auto installs after you login for the first time, but I've had it fail midway
(sorry for the thread hijack)

Use titanium back up. You can batch backup and restore, just don't do system apps.

If you're using tw, you can also perform this while you're in the app drawer. While it's open, hit menu, uninstall/disable apps, select the ones you want

Even while using nova you can switch to tw and use its app drawer.

PIA, have to clear my defaults to do that right?

No. Just create a TouchWiz Launcher widget on one of your screens and use it, Until you hit home you will stay with the TouchWiz Launcher, so you can use it's app drawer.
If do this sometimes because it shows the folder items differently than Nova does.
As soon as you hit Home, you will switch back to Nova.

I used this all the time. ROM Toolbox also has a feature like this. In not positive if it is pro version only, I've had it for a while, but does the one click batch uninstall, doesn't repeat asking. It was on sale when I bought it. Not completely updated for today's android os, but still works extremely well.

Google Backup/Restore

I just flashed RC3 for CM7.2. Usually when I flash new ROMs, all of my downloaded apps automatically download in Google Play Store, but this time they didn't.
Anyone know why? Is there a way to manually initiate this if auto doesn't work?
Have you considered using Titanium Backup instead? Free or paid, its waaaaaaaaaaaay more reliable than Google Restore.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. It depends on the ROM.

I think the free one does a good job. I have not tried the paid one though so I have nothing to compare it to.
A little off topic, but related - how do you disable Google restore? Annoys the hell out of me when it starts downloading apps I already have backed up.

You do that when you are setting up the device after a clean flash. It will ask you if you want to use Google Backup and Restore. Just uncheck the box. I'm not sure if it can be turned off after this point.
I also want to know the, answer

It doesn't ask me, it just starts installing apps when I boot the phone. Only happens with some ROMs though.
Edit: Are you talking about the setup process? If there's an option there, I may have missed it.

I've been seeing that option on Sense ROMs as well.
I am on AOKP R37 and I don't recall it auto downloading. I do leave google backup and restore on.

Bloatwave removal app

I am looking for an app that can remove some system bloatwaves and I hav been using some apps in the play store but didn't work on my n7 so could anyone provide an app that could remove n7's bloatwaves?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
Root explorer or ES file explorer and delete apps you don't want in /system/ app
Sent From My N7 via White Tapatalk
Mind you, for system apps you will need root access.
Titanium backup and root paid version just freeze them.

What bloatware do you think is in your Nexus 7 anyway? Just disable them using the built-in mechanism, no need to remove anything.
Yea I've compiled aroma installers just for removing bloatware but this is usually carrier related garbage or touchwiz/motoblur/sense stuff. None of that exists here so I wouldn't even spend the time creating that. I don't think there is any bloatware here just maybe "unwanted" apps. which once rooted can be easily removed or just frozen/disabled.
where are bloatwares in a stock jellybean rom?simply deactivate what you don't want\like..no need to cancel..for example a rom like bamf has built-in the tool to deactivate system\apps.very usefull for a person in yours position..
As a matter of interest what apps/files can be frozen via titanium? Anyone got a list of which are safe to remove?
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
I'm interested in this too. My device isn't yet rooted. You can force stop apps from settings but I believe they start up again at reboot which is annoying. Maybe time to root my device!

NO! There is a Disable button on the same screen with the Force Close that disables apps since ICS.

Questions about hiding apps

For iPhone in the Cydia app store there is an app called Poof that makes apps invisible. You run the app by actually typing in the name in the search screen. Is there anything like that on android?

Hiding apps? There are plenty of apps that let you freeze an app or disable an app.
I use es file explorer. You have to be rooted though.

Guess your new to ANDROID. Welcome Cuz your speaking of Crapple:banghead: lol.
Anyhow you can disable any app from showing up in the applications drawer. Just go into setting applications, pick the one you don't want disable done. But your going to have to root your phone like the last post stated. Then you'll b able to do plenty more. Like completely remove what you don't want or NEED!

Built in App Killer

Is there anyway to modify the built in App killer.. (when you hold the home button and press the garbage can) to where when you kill apps it doesn't kill certain ones?
Thanks!
Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Yeah when you hold the home button and those apps come up, just slide the ones you want killed off the screen.

There's not a way from what I've seen to be able to ignore certain apps using the default one. Your probably going to need to use a 3rdparty app and just whitelist some apps. I believe battery docotor let's you do it. And you can probably try advanced task killer or even fast reboot. You might just need to spend a good few minutes on the play store and find one that works the way you want.
Can I suggest Greenify, it hibernates the apps and are instantly available when you call on them. Then you do not have to worry about which apps are left running in the background.

The only 3rd party app that's good is greenify.

I was going to make my own thread but I figured I'd just post on this one. What about having the aosp app switcher/killer (whatever it's called, the thing cbass15 asked about) on a tw rom?
I've noticed so many aosp features on tw now I'm starting to feel greedy but I just wanted to know if it was possible

If you switch to the stock (TW) launcher does it still happen?
Also, in Nova, double tap a home screen to bring up the menu. Scroll to the bottom, tap advanced, tap restart Nova. If that brings them back you likely have an issue with Nova.
Yes...tried that...they just don't want to live here anymore.. I have to go to playstore for the app I want and open it from there....apps are installed but just not in the drawer...they will stay on the home screen if placed there but not in the drawer....never seen this before....no new changes to rom or downloads....weird

I (personally) would make sure my apps are backed up with TiBu and reinstall the rom.
Yeah I agree...just really didn't want to go that way but probably have a glitch....such is the life of a flashaholic...thanks for verifying what I suspected.

One more thing, if you haven't already, make an update zip in TiBu by long pressing the recent apps thing while in TiBu... Not from the menu. It makes a zip that only installs TiBu and its settings not the apps. This is better (imo) as sometimes update zip with apps can be a little squirrely.
When you get it working right let us know.
Good luck!
Cool beans....thanks...will keep you informed...
