Hi.. i rooted my note 2 n7100 when it had 4.1.2 . Then i flashed dr ketans v3 rom n got 4.3. Really awesome rom . But now when the official 4.3 update came,i restored back to my 4.1.2 backup , i did a full unroot. I flashed stock kernel and stock recovery, reset the counter to 0 . And tried OTA. But did not help. So i flashed official 4.3 firmware by odin . All is good now, but when i go into Settings> More tab> About Device> Status> it shows device status custom. Why so!! Also when i try to search for update(i know there isnt one) it keeps on searching . Will i never get future updates by OTA ?? Plzz help. Even ODIN shows that my device is official!!!

okay so this is wat I'm up against .
I rooted my GS4 about a week ago and everything has gone fine , I have not installed any custom roms (still running stock) but I do have twrp recovery installed . now of course when I try to get the OTA update I get the "your device has been modified software updates are not available" (I'm guessing this is because of the twrp recovery) . . now my question is is there a way to get the update without unrooting or having to reinstall stock recovery (so I can keep twrp recovery) since I still have the stock rom on my phone ? and if there is not where can I find stock recovery file to put back onto my phone .
any help would be appreciated , thanks yall .

You can try Triangle Away, some have said that it can spoof your device as being un-modified for a boot or so, but if that doesn't work the best bet would be to just make a backup with TWRP, make sure you save it on your SD card or even back it up to a computer, use Triangle Away to reset your flash counter, then Odin back to stock. Might be a different/easier way to do it, but that way would most assuredly work.
You can use Mobile Odin to only install stock recovery (I keep the full stock .tar on my SD card for emergency purposes), then use Triangle Away to clean up your flash counter. Should be Official then.
And after you ODIN, you MUST do a factory reset to get the official back.
Thank you.

Not true, I flashed back to a back up on TWRP, used Mobile Odin to flash stock recovery, used Triangle away to reset counter and checked the option in TA to disable root on boot up for a few minutes, and mine is Official.
are there files which have js stock recovery or would I have to flash the whole stock rom over again even tho I still am using stock rom .

Hello,
Thank you in advance who ever reply to this.
Problem is i updated my device to 4.2.2 recently with odin. Before doing that I made a (nand) backup of my 4.1.2 stock rom.
As most people having problems with 4.2.2. my phones heats up and battery draining quickly 3 hours and its 10% which is very bad.
When I try to restore 4.1.2 nand , My phone gets stuck on "Samgung Galaxy grand i9082" logo and nothing happens. I restored 4.2.2 backup and its working fine.
I assume its kernal problem. Can i restore kernal to 4.1.2 with odin? I do have stock firmware downloaded already.
Thank you!

Thank you for your reply.
It means that there is no way to go back to 4.1.2
I was thinking if i could:
1. Flash 4.1.2 stock firmware which will return me 4.1.2 stock kernal. (with odin).:fingers-crossed:
2. Once i am on 4.1.2 kernal i restore my nand and get back to my stock rooted rom.
Any ideas?
EDIT:
I tried it and end up in boot loop. I have no idea of which firmware my phone had. because i purchased it online and was shipped from Hong Kong. Manufactured in veitnam . I tried Veitnam firmware , Malaysian and now i will try india, pakistan, KSA respectively. This thread is not that active.
Anyone whos reading if you have any suggestions please try to help me.
Thank you

easyy tip
first flash stock rom using odin yes do full wipe from recovery that way ur imei would be lost so restore through efs backup thing
for that u have to re-root using chainfire method
use triangle away with this and ur counter would be reset to zero then run superuser and click on full unroot option in settings
then restat ur phone at this point u would have stock recovery stock rom everything and ready for warranty
go into settings and if u see modified i suggest u reflash stock rom from odin so that ota update is available
i tried this and for me it worked i have tried this more then once
no need to worry

I upgraded my GT-N7100 from 4.1.2 to 4.4.2 stock rom, had the "unregistered to network problem", so I rooted the phone, Installed custom recovery, then flashed many modems but all didnt work, so I decided to go back to 4.1.2, but it didnt work, got "FAIL" on odin, and "sw rev. invalid magic string" written on my phone.
I flashed the 4.4.2 again, however, this time the mobile freezes after 30 seconds after pressing the power button, tried to flash different stock 4.4.2 roms, but it keeps freezing. I cant downgrade my phone back to 4.1.2 due to the KNOX bootloader.
Is there any solution to go back to 4.1.2, by disabling the KNOX ?
