Can anyone help on how to downgrade from jelly bean?
I am not rooted by the way
You should be able to use one of the images posted here to downgrade to LI3. I am not sure if you will be able to keep your data or not, but it would be worth a try.

well you don't have to be rooted. first of all you need the original ICS stock, download it from the link below. just copy and past the link in your browser. in order to use this file you need an odin as well.
http://www.hotfile.com/dl/161492098/9fa8372/L710VPALEN_L710SPRALEN_SPR.zip.html
Odin download link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738841
download both files, open the odin and clik on PDA locate the first file you have downloaded, make sure you have unzip it.
get your phone in to the download mode and plug it in to your computer. Once Odin recognize your phone click Start. now wait till it finish the process and reboot.

You will lose data, btw.
I AM rooted and on jb, but I did a bad flash of a zip file like a half hour ago and my phones on an endless reboot/freezes. I want to go back stock..completely. Can I just follow the directions listed above (ie. download the file, transfer thru odin)?

Hot File got taken down, is there any way for you to get me this stock rom zip?
Got my JB update today, I was rooted stock before, and the install went fine without any problems.
After the update, my Quadrant score went down dramatically, from 4500 (stock rooted ICS) to 3700 JB.
So I did a factory reset and all hell breaks loose. I dont seem to have 4G anymore, although the 4G signs is showing on the top. Play store, Maps, Navigations, etc wont load (maybe since I dont internet it wont load?). After noticing all these problems, I did another factory reset.
And now I cant even sign in to Google.
Seriously, I never thought an OTA upgrade would mess up my phone.
Can anyone shine a light my way?
Thanks.
I had a similar problem with the OTA LH2 on a rooted stock ICS , I couldn't connect WIFI, a lot of apps weren't working properly. After 4-5 factory resets, still no go. My only option was to use ODIN and reinstall the complete firmware that way, and all was back to normal. Im pretty sure this happened because of OTA over a rooted device. Worth a try I think.. Good luck.
Odin the update like above then enter recovery and wipe again, sucks you got a messed up download.

Thanks! Yup, wifi wont work, 4G wont work. I think, like you, ODIN is my only option at this point.

So how do I odin that zip file to my phone?

Unzip the odin file, turn the device off, holding volume down, home button and then the power button, the phone should go into download mode, start odin up, connect the phone via usb, hit the pda option, then browse to the file you downloaded and unzipped, the md5 file should be the only file showing up, select it and hit start.
Phone will auto restart upon completion.
Edit: Don't use that file, use this: https://hotfile.com/get/179444770/50a3b770/48ddf5f/T999UVDLJA_T999TMBDLJA_TMB.zip

Welcome dark!
Im a lil salty myself. I love the update except i get a little screen flicker when i scroll up and down sometimes (disabling hw overlay aka project butter fixes) and the call quality kind of downgraded slightly. I love everything else so far.

Perfect example of why I always say to do firmware upgrades either OTA (if 100% stock unrooted) or Odin.

Is that file the stock rooted JB OTA? I downloaded the root66 stock rooted OTA: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=9390169635556426451
But the file that I downloaded has *.7z thus unrecognizable by ODIN's PDA option.
I will download your file now and give it a shot.
Thanks!

Thats 7zip. Download from 7zip.org and use to extract.
If you want thst stock unrooted on, get it from my fw thread. The download should be a LOT faster than using hotfile

Ok, I downloaded the *.7z file, extracted, flash it through ODIN and get my wifi to work, and my 4g to work for a brief moment.
Then my 4g stopped working again, and i notice that when i go to Status option in the setting, my device is listed as Modified, whereas for a few minutes after i flashed, it was listed as Normal.
When my device was listed as Normal, my 4g would work, then it switched itself to Modified and it seems that Samsung or Tmo locked my device.
Ugh, I am so bummed!
Modified ststus is jusy becsuse your rooted. It goes away if you revert.
It shouldnt have any bearing on your data though.
What does it say for baseband, network type, and is your imei there?

I am on stock ICS (Android version 4.0.4)
My baseband version is T999UVLEM
I rooted my phone when I got it at launch, and then put off all the incremental updates until official JB was released for Tmobile. Now that it's released, I'd like to update to. What is the proper way for me to do this? Flash through odin I assume? Will I still be able to keep my root or root the device after JB is installed?
Thanks in advance, I just don't want a nightmare situation like the OP if I flash incorrectly

Thanks for that, it pretty much covers all of my questions.
One that I'm still wondering about though, is can I go straight from rooted UVALEM to the latest JB firmware? Or do I flash back to stock UVALEM and THEN flash JB? Or do I need to flash each incremental update before finally finishing off with JB?

Or they can use the regular firmware file, flash it via mobile odin which roots it for ya, without the hassle and is much faster, I used it so I can say clearly it did an excellent job.
Note: if hotfile is too slow and there are no alternatives, I can upload the full firmware odin file to dev-host for everyone.

I always use mobile odin pro. My favorite app! But not everyone wants to pay for it and the free version doesnt have EverRoot.
I usually recommend it, but too many people were updating today so I wanted to stick with what everyone should be willing to do!
Ive already got the stock fw hosted from my account if that helps.
Was one of the first things I did after release. Check the firmware thread in my sig for that Plus more!

Just thought I would share. UCAMA4 is available for download over at sammobile. It is a big file and you have to go through Hotfile.
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/1/?model=SGH-I317&pcode=ATT#firmware
Have you installed this update?
I did, just for something to do though, as it not so much an update as it is just UCALJ with the last two OTA's that AT&T had pushed out.
Is there a new modem?

I downloaded this as a 'just in case" backup in case I needed to return to stock - but, I am curious how you installed it. When I downloaded it - I expected it to be a tar file - but it doesn't appear to be one - did you use Odin to install? Or some other method? Can you explain
Thanks
After you unzip it you will find a .tar file that has a long name. I cannot remember the name but I know it is a long one and it is indeed a .tar file. And yes, use Odin. After I backed up all the files I wanted I did a factory reset, put it in download mode, and ran it through Odin.

1. Put the phone into Download Mode (Volume Down + Power when turning it on).
2. Load the .tar file into the "PDA" section of ODIN on your PC.
3. Click Flash
It's mainly a security patch and modem yes?
I have it running already via the OTA, but I think I'll pull it for storage..
Thank you OP.....g
You are welcome. That is pretty much what it is good for.
Hi Guys need help bad. I hope I didnt screw my phone up.
I rooted my phone using the latest toolkit and installed twrp. Once i did that I backed up everything including efs on the external card.
Once i did that I flashed Jedi x rom but did not have much signal so decided to flash another rom which was liquid smooth. Once I flashed it again
my signal was almost non existent. I downloaded a canadian modem in the zip file and flashed it using twrp the same way i would flash a rom.
After i did that i wiped all the data and cache and the system. As I was rushing it siince its late at night i got a message saying that I am not rooted. I ignored it and rebooted the system and now its stuck on samsung logo. What can i do? Please help!!!!!
It appears that when I hold vol up plus home plus power I can get into download mode. I hope that helps.
Can someone give me some help how to get it back to life. I am pretty sure I have to use Odin at this point but dont know how
Ok i did some reading and I think the next step is to download stock image for the wind mobile turn on Odin and upload the image to the phone..
What settings should I use in Odin? What should be checked at the top and am I to use PDA only?
You can use odin or just reflash the ROM. You said tout wiped system after flashing the modern. That means you erased what ever ROM was on there. It's sticking at Samsung because there is no ROM to boot into.

Could you give me some pointers once I open up odin what do i need to do ? Thanks
Have you puked the battery. Put it back in then held volume+, home and power? Your recovery should still be there.
Also, odin is easy. Just open it and click the pda box and put your stock ROM there. Two things make sure you put your image in PDA and PDA ONLY and make sure it's your official stock Image

When I did this approach, I did it in two steps. I downloaded factory image of the firmware and flashed the device by using Odin 3.0.7.
Next, I used a tool package called "Galaxy Note2 ToolKit." Follow the instructions for how to root.
When I did the procedure, the software also had an option to include clockworkmod recovery
and busybox.
Gideon.
First of all, I really appreciate the help and expertise this forum provides!
So back in June I rooted my phone with directions here on xda. I am an extreme noobie (in my 40's) and had no business going down this road lol! I used the Phil Z method and everything actually went pretty smooth. The problem came when I tried to unroot the phone to get the latest software update. I eventually had to take my phone to a schiesty cell phone repair store. just to get the phone working again.
The problem is that I still can't get the latest update. The update fails because there is "not enough space available to download system update." The picture I attached shows the screen in download mode. It seems that not all of the original root was removed.(?)
Does someone here have an idea what I can do?
